| Posted: 15 Nov 2017 05:58 AM PST I see these around and I like hearing the lore but if there was even a cryptic list in game that updated when I had scanned an item I could totally spend my time hunting these down. I could definitely see myself wanting to complete a list and scan all the items in the game and get more invested in the story at the same time. Edit: Front page wooooo! Hi Bungie! | Savathun's Song Nighfall Strike all anomalies location map Posted: 15 Nov 2017 08:27 AM PST There are total 29 anomalies. Triangle pointing upwards means that the anomaly is above players height. Triangle pointing down means that the anomaly is somwhere below. Circle means that the anomaly is at the same height as players are. Anomaly #26 can be obtained only after completion of the green route. [link] [comments] |
| The new approach to raids is genius and very exciting. Posted: 15 Nov 2017 12:06 PM PST I always thought the Leviathan was a massive waste of potential purely from a story standpoint. We were invited to this enormous, world-eating ship...just to hang out in some golden house on the hill? No, this is great. I know people are going to be salty. I know people are going to want to complain that it's not an entirely new raid, but if the content exists purely inside this massive ship and offers up a completely new experience? Feels almost like Raids took the TellTale model, in a sense. Sign me all the way up.
EDIT: Ok since this was obviously going to be controversial, I feel the need to explain a bit further just why I think this is genius. Making a raid, or even a raid location, takes an ungodly amount of hours from so many teams of content creators. And when it is all said and done, a created raid has been a one and done experience. At the very best, it had a harder difficulty, maybe a couple of extra mechanics thrown in, challenges etc, but it was the same. And when the next one came out, you moved on, never to return (until AoT of course, but for the majority of D1 that didn't exist). Raid Lairs not only give the teams making new raids more flexibility and time to create great new content, it gives us reasons to come back! Just imagine if we would have been able to enter the Vault of Glass in another time period, giving us new encounters and new bosses and new everything. From a code perspective, it's attractive because there's not so much blatant "from scratch" to deal with. It also allows ideas that didn't make the cut to exist elsewhere. It allows all of those secrets we thought we found in the Vault of Glass to actually amount to something later. I'm not drinking the koolaid. I don't have "Stockholm syndrome." I'm taking this for what it is, an idea that expresses smoother and easier creation periods from Bungie and lore/world expansion for us. It also doesn't force them to burn through grand ideas more quickly, being able to expand on what they already have. What do you care if the lair is inside the Leviathan if it's entirely new? And who says this means it's more cabal? Leviathan is a "WORLD EATING SHIP." Let's say it ate Nessus. What's on Nessus? Vex. Leviathan ate a Vex-infested planet. We go inside the Leviathan. Who's to say, now that we've proven ourselves to Calus, that he hasn't hired us to go stomp out his new Vex problem inside the mouth of the ship? I'm beyond excited for the potential of this. | I think a Raid inside the Shard of the Traveler would be cool. Posted: 15 Nov 2017 07:30 AM PST Maybe fight corrupted shadows/specters of past guardians as the ads themselves with famous/legendary guardians as the bosses like Rezzyl Azir, Felwinter, Pahanin, etc. [link] [comments] |
| QoL Update needs to come faster than Season Updates .. Destiny is really Dying Posted: 15 Nov 2017 07:42 AM PST I don't know why Bungie is so slow with pushing Updates in regards of QoL .. some other Game Devs (Fortnite, PUBG, Division etc..) pushing Updates for QoL much faster.. We are now in Week 3 in Destiny PC and the Twitch Directory of D2 looks dying.. it is not even on the first Page, i had to scroll down to find D2, can't remember when this was the Case in D1.. It's really hurts me to see my Game in Love D2 is suffering so much hard, because Bungie takes so much time before pushing any QoL Updates. This Season Plans for Updates is bs.. i remember Bungie said they will push Updates faster in the Future, but for me it "feels" more worst than before.. are they holding it back to polish their DLC to sell it better? i guess their will be less "casuals" to buy it when they see how bungie cared about their maingame before pushing a DLC for "Money!" yea sry i'm tired of the salty posts too.. | Posted: 15 Nov 2017 10:07 AM PST Here's the source that tested a couple of resolutions and various configurations. Report your findings and experiences below! Update: Some areas on Titan and the section in front of the church within the EDZ still seem to be problematic. This will likely have to be addressed by a game patch that focuses on optimization. Update (cont.): With my 7700K (delid) @ 5.0GHz + 1080 Ti playing at 3440x1440p; I'm seeing overall stability increased throughout nearly all popular public event sites. Maybe a gain of 5 FPS overhead during large-action sequences. Not bad, but Titan and that one area in the EDZ still need some work. [link] [comments] |
| The design philosophy in Destiny 2 seems to be "If we remove it, no one can complain about it!" Posted: 15 Nov 2017 08:52 AM PST People complain about terrible connections and ping. Instead of using a good infrastructure that fixes this issue, remove player bars! You can't complain if you don't know! People disliked the way lore was presented, so instead of putting the grimioire in game, they decided to nuke it without a real replacement. I dislike this way of thinking, it doesn't solve anything, it just creates new problems. [link] [comments] |
| I miss the excitement for Armsday on Wednesdays Posted: 15 Nov 2017 04:01 AM PST I know, I know. Dead Horse again. But the breadth and depth of weapons with random rolls always held a bit of excitement for Wednesdays - the "Chance to win!". Again, I know the "god rolls" for gunsmith weapons were typically underwhelming (PDX-45 aside), but it kept me coming back. And it kept /u/kyt_kutcha, /u/wileykyoto, and /u/NKCougar busy! edit: fixed NKCougar's name [link] [comments] |
| When compared to VoG, Crota is essentially a raid lair. So stop saying "TDB had a whole new raid." Posted: 15 Nov 2017 12:15 PM PST Crota was not that good, it was just new stuff to do. The* new raid lair isn't even at the Palace, which is where the entirety of Calus was. If the raid lairs end up being Crota in length (which Crota was very short with 1 boss ((no one cried about lacking bosses then))) then what's really the difference? Relation to the story? All MMOs do this with turns or wings. [link] [comments] |
| Destiny 2 has been nominated for Best Score/Music at the 2017 game awards. Posted: 14 Nov 2017 03:05 PM PST The music in Destiny has always been amazing. Michael Salvatori and his team always out do themselves with every new release. Make sure to show some love by voting if you enjoyed Destiny 2's score as much as I did. [link] [comments] |
| Bungie's presentation/reveal quality continues to improve with each live stream Posted: 15 Nov 2017 12:04 PM PST I remember watching some of these reveals at the beginning of D1. They were short, unrefined and a bit awkward more often than not. In the months/years since, the quality improves - we see more content, have more questions answered, and even go into details about the story, characters and universe. Regardless of what they show, I really like the direction Bungie has gone with these reveals. It's so much better than just getting a cinematic and having no idea what the content will be (The Dark Below) until it releases [link] [comments] |

| As a new PC player, i love the Crucible. However, the servers and Supremacy are killing it quickly Posted: 15 Nov 2017 03:06 AM PST I love the gunplay and hand cannoning is so much fun but it's bullshit when i kill someone with a bullet after I die and vice versa. The melee autolocking feels way too powerful. I've played 6 supremacy games and 1 control game tonight and that's it... (as i was typing this i got another supremacy...) What are everyone else's thoughts? [link] [comments] |

| 3-Man ONE PHASE, CHALLENGE MODE Pleasure Gardens Posted: 15 Nov 2017 07:24 AM PST Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c7_2S8A5kEE This is an example of the Pleasure Gardens encounter, completed with three people, while satisfying CHALLENGE MODE. It's basically a heavy DPS check. So what exactly is Challenge Mode? The basic mechanic that Challenge Mode revolves around is the crystal pickup. Per each "spore shooting" phase, the same player cannot shoot two spores. HOWEVER, a player can shoot a SECOND spore if the entire fireteam has already cycled through shooting. For example: PLAYER 1 would shoot SPORE 1, then once PLAYER 6 shoots SPORE 6, PLAYER 1 can shoot again and hit SPORE 7. We have only found this to work with a full fireteam of six. We tried it with three people, and it said "Challenge Failed." So basically, once you shoot a spore, you must pass the crystal off to another player who hasn't used it yet. How is Challenge Mode possible with three people, and how can it be ONE PHASED? Each of the three players shoots ONE spore. With two people standing at a spore, that results in a x5 damage buff. This generates a total of a x15 damage buff after all spores are shot. A x15 buff is just barely enough for a single player to eliminate two dogs, with a proper setup and build. Team composition and builds: Titans 1 and 2: Striker with double pulse grenades Rally barricade Curtain Call rocket launcher Insurmountable Skullfort Warlock 1: Voidwalker with vortex grenade Empowering rift Curtain Call rocket launcher Nezarec's Sin Damage phase strategy: One the left side, between "tree" and "L1" dogs, the Warlock drops an empowering rift and a Titan drops a rally barricade. The Titan kills "L1" dog while the Warlock kills "tree" dog. Meanwhile, the other Titan drops a barricade near "R3" dog and kills him. The left side Titan immediately runs to "L3" dog, shoulder charging the smaller dogs if able. The shoulder charge fully recharges any grenades that were used if enough dogs are hit. That same Titan unloads anything he has left into the "L3" dog (rockets, pulse grenades, super). The Warlock quickly runs to "R1" dog and does the same thing (rockets, grenade, Nova Bomb). As you probably guessed, the right side Titan runs to "R2" dog and once again, does the same thing to get the kill, shoulder charging if possible. Shoutout to Ehroar for giving us the Warlock rift/barricade idea for the Warlock! And a big thanks to my teammates (Tfue and Indica) for the completed run. Unfortunately, this is the lowest amount of people possible to satisfy Challenge Mode for this encounter. It's just flat out impossible to 2-man this encounter with only x2 stacks. Have a good one, Gladd [link] [comments] |
| Destiny 2 Expansions in the Xbox Store have 2799 down as the year Posted: 15 Nov 2017 11:26 AM PST I know it's been mentioned before that events in Destiny are about 700 years in the future, but I thought this was quite a cool coincidence! If it is deliberate that's even better. [link] [comments] |

| Hunter Recovery Boots & Skullfort Armor Bugs Posted: 15 Nov 2017 06:01 AM PST As many people in the sub already know, the Hunter Recovery boots currently do not give the Recovery they are supposed to. What may not be well known is that the Insurmountable Skullfort also is not giving the appropriate intrinsic stats. Typically, all armor pieces outside of the Chest piece will distribute two points into a combination of the three stat categories (doubling up permitted). The Skullfort only has one point slotted into resilience; it should have another slotted into Recovery or Mobility depending on archetype. [link] [comments] |

| I do enjoy this game, I just play it 10 hours a week instead of, like, 40 Posted: 14 Nov 2017 06:26 PM PST That's the real difference if you ask me. I'm having fun, I just don't play it obsessively because it has less casino-esque RNG. I'm not salty about it, I just do other things. Please remember that for every person on here that's super salty about the state of affairs there's a guy like me who's quietly enjoying the game, but is no longer treating it like a second life. (And who knows that things are probably only going to get better from here.) And yes, even though I enjoyed most of D1's Crucible lifespan, I also enjoy D2's, for different reasons. Just replace "argh these guys are cowardly team-shotting me" with "argh he's just Titan Skating to me with a Matador" and you'll see the frustration is still there, just aimed at something different. :P [link] [comments] |
