Mounts finally remove the requirement for compromise in PvE builds

No more shoe-horning in a trait that grants swiftness, or a skill that would otherwise be out of place.

No more having to run druid or equip a signet to get a speed boost. No more having to use Runes of the Traveler or a silly shout-build on Guardian.

No more having to run herald on Rev just to be able to move around the map with any sort of speed.

I can't wait.

My charr will over heat and die in the desert. But for real, it'd be nice if we got some non trench coat armour with this expansion. Edit: I get it, loose fitting clothing, like what Jawas wear, for deserts is ideal. But Jawa's don't wear trench coats!

Greetings, Commanders!

Since quite a few of us will be purchasing the game in one form or another in the next few months, or have already done so, I thought now would be a good time for a friendly reminder about the safety of your serial code.

Take a minute or two out of your day to ensure that you save your GW2, HoT, or PoF game serial code somewhere where you know it won't be deleted accidentally, and can be easily retrieved later if you need it. We see a lot of posts from players who have submitted support tickets to ArenaNet but can't confirm their serial codes because they either lost access to the email address they were using at the time the code was mailed to them, or even deleted it entirely.

  • If you are using what may be a temporary email address (like a school or work-related one), or don't have the ability to archive emails in your permanent mailbox, consider printing out the email you were sent with your serial code and storing it somewhere safe for later use.

  • Even if you have an email address that you consider permanent, think about creating a folder that is separate from your Inbox specifically for storage of game serial code or confirmation emails.

  • While you're at it, you might also want to write down on that paper, or email to yourself and save along with that confirmation/serial email, a list of characters associated with your account, as ArenaNet will also sometimes ask for a character name on the account as another way of verifying account ownership.

If you lose access to your GW2 account, ArenaNet support will ask you for some information to verify that you are the account's owner before they can grant you access. Ensuring that your information is handy should you need it for something like this later will save future you some trouble down the road.

A full list of the information ArenaNet may require to verify the ownership of an account:

  • Full Name
  • GW2 email address (log-in name)
  • GW2 serial code (can be core, HoT, or PoF)
  • GW2 display name (Abcdef.1234)
  • Character name
  • Method of payment
  • Billing address (the one associated with your method of payment)
  • Last four digits of credit card (if used as payment method above)
  • Name on credit card (as above)
  • Date of birth
  • SMS auth. phone number

Keep in mind that all of this information refers to the details as of the date your purchased the game/expansion. Your address, credit card, or phone number may very well change in the future. Make sure you have a record of this information as it was when you made the purchase.

I would pay good money to be able to save my character's visible armor as an outfit.

After build templates, I think this is my most desired feature. Especially if we get build templates. I spent countless hours playing fashion wars 2, and I'd really like a way to easily switch back and forth between whole looks I've created for my characters. This kind of feature would likely also drive up sales of gem store cosmetics because people would be looking to create multiple looks for their characters.

We need your help in finding and then editing the pages to match the knoweldge we have of the new specs. if interested please use this link for resources and if you find something not listed and have a source for it's information please let me know via PM. ive been working very hard on these and still have a long way to go for most classes.

The wiki just scroll down and view each of those specs as needed. I recommend picking one and sticking to it that way we can help clear them faster and make wiki the main source of the information!

I got about 10 characters now and while still not terribly difficult to scroll through one by one and pick the one I want to play, I can imagine how much tougher it would be for those with 20 or 30 or even more characters.

Let us group them up, maybe group by class, or race, or just let us create groups where we can drop these characters in and name the groups ourselves.

Like maybe we could have a Fractals group where we drop our toons with fractal builds in. Or a WvW group for all our WvW toons. Or Raids. Or PvP etc.

Or groups that say these are my crafting enabled toons.

Or even just have a group by class, say all guards in one group, all eles in one group and so on.

Having this new QOL improvement will be great.

New beards have a lighting glitch.

The new beards are an awesome edition that I've been hoping to get for a while now but with the two fuller beards aside from the straggly Balthazar one added both act weird in any dark areas of the game. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this with the new beards.
