Fallout - HUGE bug found in New Vegas

HUGE bug found in New Vegas

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 02:17 AM PDT

Just "actually" started playing fallout 4 about a week ago. Now I can't stop.

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 11:28 AM PDT

Let me just begin by saying I've had this game for a very long time, and at first I played it and was disappointed because it felt so much like 3/NV, but I got a bit burnt out playing fps and was wanting to play a rpg. Closest thing I had was 4 so decided to put that in.

When I began, I felt so overwhelmed buy how much you can do like the quests which are normal, but then you can mod your weapons and armor, or you can make settlements, or add stuff to your houses. Even just doing that, finding missing items you need makes it an additional quest.

Now I can't even put it down, even when I'm at work I think about how I can improve my settlements, and what I have to look for, I even thought about taking a extra day off just to play it more. I need help haha.

and I honestly wish they had an app so you can at least craft weapons on your phone so when you get home, everything is ready to go.

How is Dukov even a thing?

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 12:06 PM PDT

Like many people, you stumble across Dukov's Place when you get the quest "You Gotta Shoot Em In The Head" from Mister Crowley. At this point, you are basically fully aware of the dangers of the Capital Wasteland and of those who inhabit it, like raiders, slavers and most notably, Super Mutants. You see the buildings they've ripped apart and the destruction they leave behind, especially when you deal with them in Reilly's Rangers.

But then you find Dukov, living it up with two girls in a big hotel, doing nothing but self-admittedly, "Eating, drinking, farting and screwing!". The only defense is a poorly drawn sign telling visitors to holster their gun and some junk sitting out front. How the hell has he not been torn apart by the wasteland yet?

Even Tenpenny Towers under Tenpenny's rule had an entire security force just to keep them safe.

Why is my ass so weak? (I'm not hitting very hard even with a high unarmed skill)

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 12:48 PM PDT

Hello everyone, didn't know where else I could get some quality answers to this question. And I feel kind of dumb for even asking but...

It's my first time really playing through Fallout: New Vegas and I decided to go with kind of a joke character. For some reasons I always have fun when there's something extra goofy thrown in (Hyuck!).

I wanted my character's focus to be in unarmed combat, as I've never done this in any fallout game before. I've brought the skill all the way up to 65 and I'm only level 7. So I've really focused on this. But the thing is I'm doing next to no damage. Yeah, logic dictates that maybe punching the NCR in the face isn't the best plan, but I wanted to do it for fun.

But as I've said I do next to nothing with my bare fists. It's kind of annoying actually, what can I do to fix this? Is it because I have no weapon equipped when I punch (save the boxing gloves and good god those are fun)? Am I missing something? My endurance is 7 or 8 and my strength is 6.

If you guys can help me out with this it would be most appreciated!

If you could live in any town in the Fallout universe, what would it be and why?

Posted: 04 Aug 2017 08:22 PM PDT

In the Capital Wasteland, River City would probably be the safest choice, but I would rather live in Tenpenny Tower, assuming I had the caps. It has all the necessities and then some. Plus it's got a nice view. In the Mojave Wasteland, I would live in Jacobstown. It's a nice mountain setting and pretty safe and secluded from creatures and people. In the Commonwealth, Covenant would be a great setup. It's in a safe part of the wasteland, relatively speaking, and it doesn't have a strong post-apocalyptic vibe because the houses are still in tact, so it would feel more like home.

A short story I wrote for Fallout 4

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 11:15 AM PDT

don't know if anybody cares or if it's readable just wanted to share it with you.

Part 1 – Introduction

Nate, aka the Sole Survivor goes to the Third Rail in Goodneighbour and meets a person called Jermaine. Jermaine is kind and generous, and starts a conversation with Nate. He asks if he would like a drink. They drink together, listening to Magnolia as she sings beautifuly. Everything seems so calm and cosy, but the night has to end and the Sole Survivor leaves the bar. He is drunk, which is a rare occasion for him. Near the exit of Goodneighbour he passes out. Then he is woken up by a strange woman that looks familiar – her only words are „Find Me" , and the Nate is of course creeped out. He knows he saw her somewhere, multiple times, but he doesn't understand where. He asks around Goodneighbour who she was and nobody seems to remember seeing a woman near him that night. So he goes to Doctor Amari, and tries to find the memory of that night. He does not succeed, however he remembers Jermaine, the person who he had drunk last night in the Third Rail. He goes to the bar and asks Charlie, the bartender, about Jermaine. He told him that „the cunt left without paying" which seems odd, because Jermaine looked and sounded so kind. So Charlie offers some caps if the Sole Survivor can find „the cunt" and bring him back to the bar.

Part 2 – Finding Jermaine

The Sole Survivor searches the bar for clues. He finds a buisiness card, that doesn't have the name Jermaine on, but his face is there. It's strange, because cameras haven't been used since the Great War happened. On the card, there's an address, and so Nate seeks it. The Address is just by the Glowing Sea, and it's a barber shop. So he goes there, finds lots of ferals and even Glowing Ones. And then there's a holotape named „Jermaine, the Kind One". It contains confessions of a unknown man that was thought to be Jermaine. He has dissociative identity disorder, otherwise known as DID. He has multiple personalities, one of which is Jermaine, a kind gentleman. According to the holotape, he has three personalities, but does not reveal the other ones. In the end he says that he will seek „the ATOM", so the Sole Survivor travels to the Crater of Atom, the only place where Jermaine might be. He speaks with Mother Isolde, and she brings Nate to Jermaine, now known as Brother Jameson. He looks the same as before, but acts completely different. He is aggresive towards Nate, thinking that he wants to kill him or hurt him, but with enough Charisma the Sole Survivor convinces Jameson that he is safe, and then he tells parts of what he knows about the unknown woman. Says she is some sort of a spirit, a ghost, that has been on Earth since the Great War. That sounds not believable, because Jameson is a child of Atom, and they often say things like that. But he gives him a clue – a priest who's name is unknown. Says he lives in total isolation, alone, and doesn't usually let other people in. His church is northwest of the Glowing Sea, and then the Sole Survivor can continue the quest. After the dialogue Nate can ask Jameson few questions – first being how did he take a picture of himself? He answers vaguely, but hints that he is way older than he looks and that it doesn't matter. The second question is about his DID, but Jameson doesn't answer to it, and becomes angry at Nate. If the Sole Survivor agreed to bring Jameson back to Charlie, he can either ask him with enough Charisma to go back to the Third Rail, or knock him out and bring him to Charlie where he pays his debt.

Part 3 – The Priest

Nate travels to the priest's church. The church seems strange – like the nukes didn't even touch it. The door is locked and cannot be picked – Nate knocks on the door. An old man's voice answers „You should not be here", and then the Sole Survivor asks him about the woman. The Priest now instantly seems convinced that Nate can be trusted and lets him in the church. Inside looks way more terrible than the outside – everything is dirty and dusty, lots of garbage on the ground. The priest says his name is Mayor Cunningham, and that he was once a mayor of a small town called Karville. If the Sole Survivor has enough Charisma he can ask what happened to the town, to which the priest answers that „it isn't there any more". Priest explains that the woman he saw was actually his wife, Nora. According to the Mayor, he saw a part of „Nora's soul" calling him to find her. Nate of course freaks out, and starts crying miserably. Cunningham says that if Nate wants to find her , he needs to go to her grave. Then the conversation ends , with the Sole Survivor thanking Cunningham for help, and exiting the Church.

Part 4 – Vault 111

Nate instantly understands where he needs to go – Vault 111. He travels there, and opens the cryo pod, and finds out that Nora's body is gone , and now there is a tunnel in there. He ventures through it, with a couple of radroaches trying to get in his way. Throughout the tunnels he hears voices, lots of them, most of them saying „find me" and „please". Nate recognises that as Nora's voice and starts screaming in pain. Then he finally comes to the end of the tunnel – there's a chair with a body. It's Nora, but with different clothes, and a medallion on her neck. There's a note – it reads „Take the Medallion, and we will be together forever". Nate picks up the medallion, and wakes up in Goodneighbour, with a bad headache.

Ideas about a Chicago based Fallout game

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 02:03 PM PDT

I have a few ideas about a Chicago based Fallout game. Since, as far as I know, we don't know much about what happened in the Midwest/Chicago. So that gives us a lot of leeway with our ideas. Here's some of mine. Note that since I'm from Chicago I may be a bit biased.

Detonation I think that it would be cool if the Chinese sent a lone submarine through the Gulf of Saint Lawrence and through to northern Lake Michigan. However they are spotted on SONAR near the center of the lake between Waukegan and South Haven. They are intercepted by torpedoes shortly after, but not before arming the warheads for launch. The torps critically damage launch equipment and lock the missile bay halfway open. The submarine is sinking when another torp hits. This one is fired at a downward incline and manages to detonate a few feet inside the missile bay. This causes the first warhead to detonate. In a chain reaction all six warheads detonate 75 meters below the surface, causing a large tsunami to radiate from ground zero. the tsunami gains speed and strength along the western coast before hitting Chicago. It floods most of the rivers and destroys buildings on the coast. The

Why do the great khans not kill boone knowing his role in the massacre

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 01:20 AM PDT

Are the Great Kahns even worth letting live?

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 06:16 AM PDT

A lot of people really seem to like them but I don't understand why, if I'm remembering at one point the Kahns were raiders but now are just a broken tribe who sell chems. So why do people always want to help them? Am I missing something about them because right now all they seem to me is ex raiders.

A way to play Nuka World without attacking settlements or killing everyone there?

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 02:11 PM PDT

I like Nuka World, but I really don't want to attack my own settlements or have to turn on everybody in Nuka World. Is there a third option?

Yes-Man Quest for New Vegas

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 03:50 PM PDT

I've gotten to the point in New Vegas where Yes-Man asks you to (optional) learn a bit about the other tribes or you can go ahead and ignore them. The only option I have is to ignore all tribes before I continue. I'm not even sure what happens if you ignore a tribe. If you ignore a tribe, do you align with them or become enemies with them? I'm trying to align with the Boomers, the NCR, and the Enclave if that helps any.

TL;DR- Yes-Man makes me ignore all tribes before I can continue. Also need help with what "ignore" means.

Thanks.

Oswald the outrageous vanished during the last fight and hasn't reappeared [Spoilers]

Posted: 05 Aug 2017 03:36 PM PDT

I was fighting Oswald on the roof and went through the expected multi downs before getting to the point where I think he was ready to die however, he vanished in a puff of smoke (as he does throughout the fight) and never reappeared.

Any ideas how to finish the quest since he doesn't appear to be respawning?
