Official r/smashbros Monthly Voted Tier List (July 2017): Voting! Posted: 23 Jul 2017 05:54 PM PDT Welcome back to our monthly tier list, post-EVO edition! Although, this time around, things may be a bit more about the pre- and post-EVO tournaments that happened this month. While tournaments around the time of EVO usually are pretty stacked, I don't think we've ever seen a major-level tournament happen right before EVO, and a supermajor happen right after! Crazy times, which may lead to some unusual changes this time around... MIIS WITH CUSTOMS ARE LISTED AS XXXX, MIIS WITHOUT CUSTOMS ARE LISTED AS 1111 ALL MIIS ARE AVERAGE SIZE AND DO NOT HAVE CUSTOM EQUIPMENT YOU DO NOT HAVE TO VOTE FOR EVERY CHARACTER NOTABLE TOURNAMENT PLACING UPDATESo, a few months ago, I got a request to put character results on the poll (next to each character's name), so people who use the results listed in the thread don't have to switch tabs every time they check what a certain character has done that month. However, I didn't want to implement this idea, because not all characters have "notable placings" in a month. I did still think this was a great idea, so to make it happen, I've changed my method of finding "notable tournament placings." Instead of just briefly looking through results and putting what I think is notable on the thread, I now score each character's strong tournament showings, and the placing with the highest score is used. This is done for EVERY CHARACTER, so you can not only see which characters had a good month, but you can tell who had a less fruitful month as well. For more specific details on this system, click here! Tournaments Used:
Bayonetta: 1st at EVO 2017 Bowser: 17th at Umebura 27 Bowser Jr.: 25th at Albion II Captain Falcon: 17th at Dreamhack Atlanta 2017 Charizard: 49th at Umebura 27 (Not on poll, I missed it while making it. Based on the description of each tier in the poll, you will vote where you think each character belongs, with S Tiers being the best and D Tiers being the worst. Using my magical, mythical, and totally ballin' powers (aka basic math), I will transmogrify all of the polls together to come up with the month's tier list! Click here to fill out the poll! In the comments below, you can look for a certain character's name. DO NOT USE UPVOTES TO VOTE CHARACTERS UP OR DOWN ON THE LIST! These act as discussion prompts, allowing people to talk about said characters. They can be used to talk about how good characters are in the meta, how these characters are played, how to play against these characters, and really anything else, as long as it's about the character listed and how they play in Smash 4. Try to keep conversation constructive! No opinions are wrong! There will also be a section to post your personal tier list, if you'd like to [link] [comments]

Fuse Season 2 Announced for Melee and Wii U Doubles Posted: 27 Jul 2017 07:51 PM PDT They are going with a slightly different structure this time around. Last season they had a 3 tiered system of Premier/Major/Tour (tour events themselves also had 3 tiers of Gold/Silver/Bronze) where Premier/Major events were chosen by Fuse staff and had fixed value regardless of attendance and Tour events were opt-in by TO's and had their value tied to the number of entrants. This season there are 5 tiers: Major, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. The only major is The Big House 7 which has fixed value regardless of how many teams attend (winning team gets 1000 points). The other 4 are the same as tour events last season: opt-in and their value is determined by how many teams enter.
Also, here is the current event list with their current tier: https://twitter.com/Genesis_Smash/status/890723980398665729 The season starts August 1st with the finale sometime in December. Lastly, seeding will be handled differently this time (and is actually stated ahead of time). From the smash.gg link: "The seeding of finals shall follow tennis-style randomization within tiers. 1st and 2nd will be placed on opposite sides of the bracket. 3rd/4th will be randomly assigned to be on 1/2 side in winner's semifinals. 5-8 will be randomly assigned to 1-4, etc." *edit: a word [link] [comments]

Character Matchup Data from 60,000+ game dataset - Now on One Page for Each Character Posted: 27 Jul 2017 06:53 AM PDT Last week we made an update that makes it easy to see the win percentages for each matchup in our VoD database. We currently have over 21,000 sets on our site which results in 62,000+ games of data. Each character now has a Matchups page which you can find a link to on the individual character page. When on a character page, simply click the "View All Matchups" link to see how that character performs against every other character. Here is Mewtwo's matchup page. On the very top and very bottom of the page, you are likely to see some crazy matchup percentages for matchups that have between 1 and 15 total games. Sample size too low. A few new VoD uploads could change those numbers dramatically. You want to scroll down a bit to start to find the more interesting data. Look for matchups with 50+ games to get a more reliable feel how matchups trend in general competitve play. For this Mewtwo example, there are actually only a handful of other characters who he has played 50+ times against. You will find much better numbers when comparing two of the most used characters against each other. When you look at Mario's matchups, you can find data on 400-500 games against other top characters such as Diddy Kong, Cloud and Bayonetta. When on the matchups page, simply click on another character image to see their head to head games. Using the Mewtwo page example above, if you click on Corrin, you're taken to the Mewtwo vs Corrin page where you can find their VoDs and their matchup stats for each stage. These new pages should make it very convenient for you to get data on your favorite characters and their matchups. As a reminder, this is just data collected off VoDs and you have to remember that player skill is more important than character or stage advantages. Use this data for fun and to help form your insights on general competitive play. [link] [comments]

Posted: 27 Jul 2017 02:14 PM PDT Who do you think is the best Fox at each matchup? To make the answers more diverse you could exclude mango leffen and armada. This is more focused on the high tier MUs but if you know of a Fox that os particularly good against a mid low tier for example Sfat is the best against Dr Mario you can mention it. I Hope this tread can help people trying to learn a certain MU to know which players to study from. [link] [comments]
