In response to /u/Jeetuprime's post about his pride and joy, I have a very similar favorite weapon. (no mods, or enchanting potions)

Does anyone ever like to play Slice of Life Skyrim?

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:32 AM PDT

I used the console to give myself enough gold to purchase the breezehome, then made an honest living as a lumberjack. I chop wood all day, go hunting for meat to make a stew, tan leather, and sell only those things I earn through the toil of my labor. Maybe I'll go and try to find a wife. Settle down, maybe have a few kids. But I'm not really one to adventure.

Are we sharing favorite weapons now? Here's my entry: the dual-wield sword pair. Just a tad bit overpowered...

Went to Ysgramor's tomb to rescue the ghost Kodlak. Everything was normal until Ghost Whitemane started speaking.

The Most Important Choice: Sven or Faendal?

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 04:24 AM PDT

I'm tired of all the civil war talk, so on to more important matters... Who do you side with in Riverwood: Sven or Faendal? :)

Me, I always go with Faendal for three reasons:

1) You don't really get many choices for primary Archer followers early on (Janessa costs, Aela's quest-locked, the rest are way out of the way).

2) His house is much better to loot for most characters. I think Sven's place has a few more Alchemy ingredients, but Faendal's has almost as much, but also has at least two saber-cat hides, sometimes even a bear pelt in his chest.

3) Sven is such a dick to his mother. Seriously, she might be an annoying shrew, but there's no call for that sort of thing. :/

edit: Make that four reasons. Just noticed that Sven's primary skills are Alchemy, Enchanting and Smithing. How does that even work? Yeesh...

EDIT2: Okay, a fifth reason, perhaps the worst of all. His level cap is only 20?!?! Okay, never mind then. Instead of talking about why you'd prefer one over the other, let's just go on and on about how much Sven sucks. :P

[Wallpaper] Let's go on an adventure. I mean, seriously, over half a decade later and this game still gives me the chills. (1920x1080. Modded + ReShade, minor Photoshop color corrections.)

[Spoilers] Out of Bounds area in The Mind of Madness

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:11 AM PDT

So I'm sure most of you know about this as the game has been out for like seven years but this is my first playthrough. I have a mod that takes away most of the invisible walls in the game and came across a stand alone door during The Mind of Madness. The door was named after the quest and when I enter it I appeared in a house, went through another door and am now in a half finished cave with a large corridor and some destroyed assets like a watch tower. Was this supposed to be used anywhere else or is it just tucked away, never to be used?

There are distinct advantages to Lycanthropy...

I mean, aside from the obvious increase in strength, etc, when you're in werewolf form. I was riding along the road to Riften, minding my own business, when I caught a glimpse of a mysterious figure crouched in the bushes. Before I had a chance to react, a pack of wolves suddenly raced out of the forest and ripped the poor bastard to shreds. Then as I was getting off my horse, the wolves surrounded me in a protective phalanx as I walked over to the fresh corpse.

Turns out my wolf buddies had flushed out a Dark Brotherhood assassin before he could even stand up to attack me.

Packmates totally got my back. Wolf bros best bros.

EDIT: I'm using the Moonlight Tales mod, which makes wolves friendly to you if you're a werewolf, even if you aren't in beast form. I'm also using SkyTEST Realistic Animals & Predators, which allows wolves to travel in large packs.
