Minecraft - My new Mousepad

My new Mousepad

Back in 1.11 I died but yet I persisted after death. The result was me walking around as a red, shaking player.

Saw somebody else post their map. Here is mine. 703 maps, 19x37. Vanilla survival, faithful resource pack.

The subtle silence in Minecraft is simply relieving. The fact that you have a world completely at your disposal is wondrous in the fact that you have total reign over it. You can tear it down, build it up, or wonder the never ending vastness. It's up to you.

Just a quick story

Posted: 15 Jul 2017 09:36 AM PDT

I was on a flight last night and we were stranded on the tarmac for hours. A few rows in front of me I overheard a guy in his early 30's talking to a kid maybe 10 years old sitting next to him. They didn't know each other and had nothing in common except for one thing. Minecraft. I listened to them talk about all the cool things they had created and and the cool battles they had been in. They talked for what felt like hours. By the time we finally took off, the two had become friends. I just find it so fascinating that this game can take strangers from any age or background and turn them into friends.

Savanna Plateau M biomes are amazing. Crazy hills and occasional 50-block deep massive caves.

We need to take a moment to be thankful for how good modded Minecraft and server plugins are.

After having played countless hours of Garry's Mod, Arma 3, Minecraft, Skyrim, and other modded games I think we need to take a moment to realize how good Minecraft is with mods. In Minecraft, here's how joining a modded server works.

Step 1: Download the modpack.

Step 2: Join the server.

In other games, this is simply not the case, in Arma 3 for example, you have to go and download every mod separately to be able to join the server, and honestly it's a fucking hassle. In Garry's Mod? You download gigs upon gigs of content upon joining the server, also super shitty because it doesn't always save what you've downloaded after you leave the server.

Plugins in Minecraft servers are also amazing. You download nothing when joining the server but seemingly magically have access to every minigame on the server without downloading any extra content whatsoever.

All in all I just wanted to say that we have it really good compared to other games.

Request testing for proposed fix to MC-22147, the chunk unloading bug that wrecks redstone machines

Posted: 15 Jul 2017 05:01 PM PDT

I have updated my Google Doc that contains an analysis of this bug. Starting from Page 11 are the proposed fixes and analysis.

To see the code, visit the bug database entry for MC-22147. There are now two files named "AnvilChunkLoader.java".

The version uploaded on June 15, 2017 was provided by Rich Crosby and is the one we should test first. It's simple and should fully correct the problem.

The version I uploaded today (July 15) contains a performance improvement and may be worth considering.

I would like to call out to all those running Minecraft servers to help us test this on copies of your multiplayer worlds, especially if you have success at intentionally reproducing the problem. Unfortunately, the latest MCP is only for 1.12-pre1. The fix should also work with 1.11.2 and probably earlier.

Let's let Mojang know that we want this bug fixed by upvoting the bug, and let's give them confidence in the bugfix by testing it! Thanks!
