Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:11 PM PDT I mean.. I swear, I've never had a problem with the spanish cultures ever before. But the open mic spanish equivalent of a banjo, mid or feed terror that is peru dota has made me absolutely hate running into anyone when I see spanish on that chat log. It's actually a little upsetting to get so annoyed just by seeing them in the chat. I mean maybe 50% of them speak english. But It's still just sooo aggravating. Thoughts? [link] [comments]
Just reached 3k after 2600 hours! Posted: 03 Jul 2017 02:14 PM PDT Been watching Day9 learns dota, and I gave into all the Gamer Sensei stuff and decided to give it a try. I had a coach give me some pointers on Ursa (who I hadn't played much before) and I just ran with it. Bit of grinding and hero spamming and I hit 3k! :D [link] [comments]
Will Lina's Pure damage Lagoona Blade work with Orchid/BloodThorn's Damage Amp? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:57 AM PDT I'm thinking of getting Dagon, Orchid/BloodThorn, and combining the two with Lina's Pure damage Ulti for Max burst. Stun -> Damage Amp ->Use rest of spells and Dagon -> If target hasn't died follow up with Autos which have truestrike and Crit due to BloodThorn's Damage amp and all empowered by Lina's Passive Edit: Laguna not Lagoona, sorry lol, I haven't played Dota 2 since WC3 and I'm just coming back sorta [link] [comments]
I cannot have any good results when playing lina, any help would be appreciated. Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:59 PM PDT https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3290963837 this is about the best outcome I have gotten. I try to click sf as much as I can but I don't usually play heroes like lina that are allowed to do that because OSfrog attack range, so in reality when I say "as much as I can" its not very much. Normally I play farm oriented mids (storm, od, tinker) or heroes that harass with skills (qop, puck, dp). I knew i didn't click sf enough, but it felt like I can't get any cs against sf. At least to lower level players, I find that good animation is vastly better than good damage. Lina has such a bad animation, and sf's is pretty good. I had 3 cs in the first 2 waves, which is of course, awful. I managed to bring it to 54 cs which was second only to the sf with 59. The enemy decided to gank me when I was jungling. Cm root into tripe raze means im just dead, nothing I can do, which frustrates me when it happens 3 times, all in different jungle areas. I don't understand how one can even play lina. This game I was able to get kills because they have little initiation, but some of my other lina games I cannot get any kills when they have a blink initiator or spirit breaker. She's so squishy that any smoke gank will destroy her as long as it isn't just 1 person going in. How do you even play this hero if all your good at is bullying SOME of the midlane pool and jungling (and single target burst, which means shit in teamfights. You get one, well now your going to die too now that all your damage is gone. 1-1 every fight is worthless). *Take some of what I said with a grain of salt, I'm asking for help but also releasing my anger and providing analyses all at once. I release anger like this by typing up a storm (or punching a wall, but I'd prefer to not break my wrist again). If there is any confusion on what I'm trying to say, ask me and I'll try to clear it up. [link] [comments]
2k player looking for tips on Visage Posted: 03 Jul 2017 06:53 PM PDT Thought this hero would be interesting to learn but I didn't expect my first 2 actual attempts at learning the hero to go this well https://www.dotabuff.com/players/71255400/matches?date=week&hero=visage Idk if it's players in this bracket not knowing what he does, but jesus christ. This forgotten, bristle back-like ability to not die, lvl 1 dagon on a 4s cooldown, chain stunning, tower pushing blue bird feels ridiculous. Obviously my biggest problem is microing the birds. I usually either have all units selected or all other units selected and just tab-q tab-q to stun. I have each bird on control groups for scouting rosh and whatnot, but I was hoping someone who plays the hero a lot would share their setup. Hard counters to look out for? Any other not-so-obvious tricks and tips about the hero would be appreciated. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2017 06:44 PM PDT Hi guys, just started playing cores a bit more. Anyone know how can I improve my laning phase, how to increase my lasthits, other small things? And some help in the teamfights, how to move etc. This is the game, 3.9k average and I played Wraith King. [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:42 AM PDT I'm 2k player, made a new account to train hero in unranked, selected "I'm a new player" to kill some noobs, and my first solo game was 'high skill', 5th game VHS with avg mmr 3942 (loss), next game 2.9k vhs (loss), next 3.9k (loss), next 4.6k! (win), next 4.9k! (loss), 4860 (loss), 4855 (loss), 5644 (win), 5040 (loss), 4876 (loss) Needless to say I get destroyed and blamed every game, winrate is 28%. Why is that happening? Why unranked mmr dont go down when I loose, instead it feels like it goes higher and higher, sometimes I get 5700 mmr enemies, as a 2K i feel like a little ant versus a dinosaur. In the end, a noob that gets killed is me, every 4800 avg mmr game :> How do I get back where I belong, a 'normal skill' bracket? [link] [comments]

How do i play vs spirit breaker? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:42 AM PDT Out of most of the heroes, spirit breaker is one of the heroes I am the worst against, with a 42% winrate all time, and 33% winrate these 6 months. How do i play vs a hero that has global map presence, and that can easly kill me all game long? [link] [comments]

Got stomped as Sven vs Viper/Bristle offlane. Was this winnable? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:51 AM PDT Hey all! I played a Sven game yesterday against a Viper/Bristle duel offlane, and i got straight trashed. Any time I walked up to get a last hit, my health went from full ro less than half in an instant. There was a drow on their team, so viper got that aura boost as well. I ended up going to the jungle ~10 minutes in, but I had already been killed 3 times and was too underleveled to really jungle well. I picked up a MoM and almost got back into the game, but it was way too late. I definitely played badly, but i'm not sure what I could have done. My mid Lina ganked a couple of times, but it usually was ill timed and didnt end well (ie i was already half health or lower, or dead, before they tp'd over). This also let the drow get free farm in mid, and as she got stronger, so did the Viper. How do you play against a lane like this? Are there any heroes that would have been a better pick than Sven? If we had changed our lanes would a different configuration do better? [link] [comments]
| Please help me to figure out what went wrong (Bloodseeker) Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:01 AM PDT Can someone please this game and tell what other decision I could have taken to win it. https://www.opendota.com/matches/3275995371/overview I know have worst last hitting skill in this game and trying to improve it but could you point out error in decision I made during this game (lanes, items, skill usage ,etc) Thanks! | How to scale better into the late game with Troll Warlord? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 11:54 AM PDT I had an low level pub match as Troll Warlord and we lost. I was on dire with PA. What could I have done to make a late game impact like PA could? Here's the match if anyone is interested : https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3290821867 Also I love playing Troll but this was my straight 4th defeat in a row :( Would love to see a discussion on Troll as all the ones I could find are from really old patches. | Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:21 AM PDT What's the best lane to go with KotL. I feel like he is not suited as a support for the safelane, because the constant pushing hurts your carry. Am I supposed to skip more levels in the nuke for more mana drain then? What are your favorite ways of playing kotl in the early game? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2017 09:30 AM PDT Before I start I want to clarify that in this post I am mainly asking about pre-made and somewhat coordinated group play, the specific example being my battle cup team (about 2 months together now, tier 5 ~3500-4000). I play safe lane carry for my battle cup team, and for the last week in ranked and just random games together we have toyed around with me playing safelane bristleback. It has worked pretty well for us, and when I stopped to think about why I realized that in general my team focuses a lot on playing around off lane and messing with the enemy carry. While we are all similarly skilled players, our team roughly looks something like this: Mid > Support 1 >= Carry (me) >= Offlane > Support 2 In a lot of our games, the first 10 minutes look something like this: Minutes 0-3/4: Supports helping zone/pull for me, off and mid lanes doing standard matchups. Minutes 3/4-7ish: At least 1 support leaves lane, set up gank on mid. At this stage the support left in lane with me is USUALLY a dazzle, cm, or occasionally ogre. Minutes 7/8+: From this stage on I am generally solo in lane or get spotty support (occasional pull, little to no zoning) while my team focuses on responding to enemy ganks and setting up ganks on the enemy carry. Now, in my mind this overall way of approaching the game secures mid lane farm, and then focuses largely on playing around mid and offlane. We rarely set up ganks for me and often I am left alone (i.e., at the mercy of enemy pressure). I want to be clear before I continue that the goal is not to actively ignore me or not to secure farm. My teammates idea is that by playing around mid and offlane, we secure farm for our best player (mid) and force the enemy to play around the same general part of the map, freeing up space for me to farm. This, in my mind, is a bit of a coin toss game to game with respect to my lane, as if there isn't enough pressure then I am left alone and often extremely vulnerable to ganks / zoning by strong enemy offlanes. My real questions about this are: 1) Is this really a good way to approach the game? I understand there's an element of "if it works for you, then sure" here, however in my mind securing farm for the safelane carry and playing a more mid / safelane centric strategy would be more reliable as it guarentees my farm rather than hoping to apply enough pressure to stop the enemy. 2) Assuming we continue with this style, what are some good carries to focus on. We definitely see more success with strong early/midgame carries like lifestealer / jug / pa / troll. When we first started out my team attributed this to our aggressive playstyle but the more we play the more I feel it is because these carries do well with minimal babysitting (as opposed to slark / spectre, etc). Are there any other carries we should be considering? 3) What are some good offlane picks, given that we end up playing around it so frequently. Our offlane player is actually fairly picky, and while he likes picks like Tide, Phoenix, Timber, and Axe he refuses to play centaur / abbadon / slardar (calls em boring). What are some offlaners who can really shine when given farm / played around? Overall, my personal opinion is that my team plays too much around offlane and should focus more on protecting safelane while still ganking for mid, and responding to ganks in offlane (the flipped version of the current strategy). I want some outside opinions though, since I feel I am a bit biased in the matter and I also don't really have a good sense of how this playstyle stacks up against the more common "babysit carry" style. This has been a bit of a wall of text, so I appreciate anyone who read to this point and any input you have. Thank you. I will update this thread with a few replays of our battlecup games when the downloads finish. [link] [comments]
How to dagger out after death with Aegis? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 05:31 AM PDT Seems that shift or clicking dagger out as fast as you can dont work. [link] [comments]
| Posted: 03 Jul 2017 08:05 AM PDT Hey guys, if you can have a look at my dotabuff profile and let me know how can I improve my Slardar, I have around 61% with him over 150 games, comment on my items, what position is best,,,etc Link in any useful stuff that you recommend. | Posted: 02 Jul 2017 09:24 PM PDT Lina got nerfed, so I don't have a simple hero to spam for ez double downs. As a result I thought about learning a new hero, either Morphling or OD, and because I like blue I went with Morph. He's a very interesting and an amazing hero imo. How do am I supposed to play him? What's the perfect balance of his stats? Why do people always say rush Linken's? Who is he good and bad against? Is he viable mid (as I normally like going mid if I get to play core)? Lastly, how is he played in games? As a splitpusher AM style or as a teamfighting fighting Jugg style? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 03 Jul 2017 01:35 AM PDT Is MK worth picking after the new buffs? Doesn't seem enough for me. If yes what position? Still seems very lackluster without farm after basher nerfs, so maybe mid? And generally it seems to me like osfrog is pushing it to core, with all the ulti attack speed buffs [link] [comments]
Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:08 AM PDT I understand that playing against heroes like shadow blade slark forces your team to clump up more. But this limits the farm potential of your team so much. I feel like I'm doing something wrong, because whenever I play against slarks i always feel pressured to five man and take objectives as a team as soon as he gets shadow blade. And I can never farm effectively with him on the enemy team. When I play supports I just feel absolutely useless standing next to my carry hoping not to die and that a fight will break out so i can contribute. [link] [comments]
How do you play against Bloodseeker mid as Invoker? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:48 AM PDT The moment bloodseeker hits level 3, I can't do anything. If I try to harass him, he'll trade hits with me, and since he has thirst damage+bloodrage, I will always lose. Even when I do get hits off, he'll just get back his HP by last hitting. He can easily dive me under tower with his 500 movespeed and I can't ghostwalk because he has thirst vision. Is there any way to win the lane assuming that somebody on the team is always missing ~40% hp, and there are no support rotations? [link] [comments]
What's the best way to play Clockwerk late game? Posted: 03 Jul 2017 06:40 AM PDT I've been spamming Clockwerk a lot lately and I've been mostly having success with him. Most of my success comes from the early game. I usually play him as a position 3/4, depending on what my team is doing. Either way, I usually leave the lane at level two or around two minutes to gank the mid or jungler. In my bracket (the 1k bracket), most players never expect this and it is pretty easy to get a kill with Clock, especially if I get a good rune. However, as the game goes on, I feel like I can't really do that much without feeding. I think I'm okay in the midgame with getting pick offs and ganks, but I'm mostly confused about how I should be teamfighting and what my game plan should be once I can't really do much in a teamfight. What should be my game plan in late game teamfights when most of the enemy cores can easily blow me up? Here's my Dotabuff: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/149855981 and I'm around 1.4k MMR. Thanks in advance for your advice! [link] [comments]
When do you go Magic Ember and Physical Ember? Posted: 02 Jul 2017 09:35 PM PDT Now that both his lvl. 10 talent seems to be at balance, when should you go veil and when should you go the old bfury, daedalus build? Lately I've been trying the physical and it worked wonders and I couldn't get myself to go back to the magic build. But is there a certain condition, or a particular hero in the draft that should make me revert to the magic build? [link] [comments]
