There is Gamewide Ping Spikes/Lag happening again

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 12:45 PM PDT

Asked multiple maps in the game and they at least a couple on each map were reporting 300-1k ping spikes.

Please don't make the new expansion elites stronger than the current elite specs

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 06:59 PM PDT

Make them comparable. Preferably with focus on a different niche function area. Don't make the new elite specs stronger in every aspect. It will be great for build diversity this way after the initial hype for the new elites die down.

TrahearneJokes has been overhauled!

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 11:24 AM PDT

Hi, I'm Teletric, a moderator that has been working on the /r/TrahearneJokes subreddit for the past few months. If you have a keen eye, you may have noticed some minor changes to the subreddit over the course of some number of months, mostly visually. That is because I have been working tirelessly for the past few months to make the subreddit look on-par with other Guild Wars 2 subreddits, getting rid of the default subreddit theme in the process.

I hope you enjoy the changes that have been made to the subreddit, and any feedback is welcome and will be considered. Thank you, and remember to eat your vitamini.

Things to Look Forward To:

  • Contests/Giveaways

  • Additional Flairs

  • moer jeoks

I'm creating a YouTube New Player Guide Series for the Engineer. Would you like to share your experience with new players, and have your advice featured on the guide?

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 09:40 AM PDT

I'm creating a whole series of New Player guide, to try and grow our community, and encourage players to jump in and try different professions.

  • These guides are not deep dive theory crafting exercises focused on min-maxing dps rotations and builds; they outline the history, mechanics and skills of each profession and offer a little advice about builds and gear, to get players started on the path to levelling and learning the profession.*

  • If you would like to share any advice or guidance for new Engineer players, I would be very grateful.

  • Please check it out before you decide if you want to contribute. https://youtu.be/RUGoj4LPhQc I want you to understand the nature of the vids.

  • The Question: What advice would you give a new Engineer player, just starting out? Are there any do's and don't you have learnt on your path to glory?

  • Please try to be concise and do proof your submission - so what you write still sound correct when read aloud.

  • Specify the name you want used, if not your Reddit user name.

  • I'm also happy to give guild shout outs and the like.

For many I understand guides are not your thing, and I respect that: For me I think it can be intimidating jumping into an establish game cold, and you can often feel overwhelm. These guides and the lore vids are created with the idea of making this brilliant game just a little more accessible and welcoming to new and returning players. I'm not a pro gaming YouTub'er, I'm just a guild wars players who loves the game, and enjoys making shitty machinima vidz.

Thanks for all the support and feedback you guys have already given to my channel. You all rock. <3

The Shield Siblings and their dead end!

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 02:58 PM PDT

When the Shield Siblings, Sylvari twins, came out of their shared pod, a scroll blindingly formed in front of them. They both knew it contained the instructions for their Wyld Hunt and were excited to learn of its contents. It had a long list of words and they all held one thing in common. They were the names of shields. They understood it was their destiny to find each and every one of them. This is how their quest began.

During their journey, they began to notice that the parchment grew longer and longer, every once in a while. The two began to think they might never finish the journey they had started, but pressed on regardless.

After some years later, the Shield Siblings had finally finished their quest, so they marked off the final shield in their list. But on closer look the sister noticed a smeared line without a line across it. To restore the parchment, the brother whirled his fingers, covered in a blue aura, around the roll of paper. To their surprise, there was another shield under the smudge. The true final shield. The Dark Moon Shield.

So began their trek to find the ultimate finish to their collection. Time passed quickly, without any results. But hope was still there, they can't give up, surely the shield must still exist in the world, but they only heard rumors about the shield. One even claimed that it had never existed. But as time passed, the light grew darker, and the days became longer.

After the numerous years of searching with no sign of it, they came upon a scripture with a symbol of a crescent moon above it. It read "The shield, with the shape of a crescent moon and roots growing from it, has gone into slumber. It will eventually awaken when it's Night again." The pair were confused to what it meant, as there had been countless nights between the beginning of their quest and their current predicament. So they await, for the Day to end and the Night to start.

Here the 2 of them are, with their prized collections.

I love to collect shields in gw2, it's always exciting to see what new kinds of shields Anet pushes out. I don't write stuff, so if it sounds dumb in places, please forgive me. I recently reached 29k achievement points and got my 2nd to last shield, the Pinnacle Shield. Now I'm stuck waiting for another chance to grab the Dark Moon Shield to finish off the collection. I also couldn't sleep, so I came here to empty my mind.

TL;DR There are still old pvp skins and other various skins, that were once available, that currently are unavailable in any form. Here are some, if not all the missing skins.

Calling all Engineers! Wanted - Your Engineer Screenshots and/or Artistic Creations. YouTube Fashion Wars Showcase - Confirmed!

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 09:20 AM PDT

I'm making a guide series for new players interested in the Engineer, and for the final video of the series I want to showcase the community. The video will also feature advice and tips from GW2 Redditors.

Here is the Community showcase for the Guardian https://youtu.be/RUGoj4LPhQc Please check it out so you know what you're getting into.

  • If you would like screenshots, art work or even capture of your Engineer to featured, please reply and share here.

  • Make the Images as high resolution as you can. So bump up your setting for the photo shoot, (just don't blow up your pc!!) Image size - The Bigger the Better - I shoot in 2560 1080 but do not worry about aspect ratios - THE BIGGER the image, the BETTER.

  • Please also include the name you want to appear with the image.

  • I'm happy to shout outs for guilds, communities, artists, other engineer guides and content creators. So don't be shy, shameless self-promotion is welcomed.

I know this will not be everyone's cup of tea, but I love giving back to the community. The channel giveaway's and dedicated community videos like this, is my way of showing thanks for all the support you have given me.

Why do you love your profession?

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 11:19 AM PDT

Hi all!

I'm a returning player who's now very much out of the loop in terms of professions / elite specs and why people play what they play.

Any insight as to what it is you like about your profession would be greatly appreciated.

Someone sell me on what to play!

You know what a great feeling is?

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 02:58 AM PDT

I just started doing WvW and of course at first I was getting my ass absolutely handed to me. But, after a few hours, I started doing better and better, surviving longer and longer, consistently getting kills and actually winning 1v1s. I'm getting an amazing amount of loot with my wells+marks + shroud AoE necro, I'm quite chuffed with my progression.

Then it turns out that my specializations were just randomized and weren't the same ones I had in PvE. I've been playing with a build that did absolutely nothing for the skills I was using.

Oh man.

Can you rez downed teammates in new 2 vs 2 Deathmatch gamemode?

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 08:06 PM PDT

Was thinking about playing an Engineer with this build:

https://metabattle.com/wiki/Build:Scrapper_-_Power_Hammer

Would kind of defeat the point if you can't rez in the new gamemode, so thought I'd ask first.

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 08:01 PM PDT

Getting a new account and want to WvW on the best server I can find.

Also, where can I find public discords/teamspeaks for all WvW servers?

Best profession for condition open world PvE?

Posted: 05 Jul 2017 01:53 PM PDT

Imagine that you have one of each profession, and only one of them needs to be geared a certain way for raids, fractals and what have you. Imagine that the other 8 professions are mainly for playing fashion wars and participate in events all around Tyria. Imagine that your adventures in the mists and in raids have ascended boxes dropping all over the place, and that crafting is no issue.

Is Berserker the way to go for all open world content? I have a full Vipers reaper minionmancer, and I do feel that my open world gameplay was more efficient when she was full Zerker. Conditions by their nature take time to ramp up, I suppose. But is there any profession that kills things quicker and more efficiently through conditions than through raw power?

Mind, this isn't necessarily just about champions and bosses, but also for smaller mobs, quests, AoE and so on. Does any profession lend itself well to open world PvE with stats other than Berserker?
