Posted: 06 Jul 2017 01:34 PM PDT Hello guys. So as every Power Rev lover I'm bitter as fuck and I need to rant. Jk I actually like to discuss something Warriors Phalanx Strength has currently no ICD and makes Warrior the most efficient Might Battery around. Surely this is greatly beneficial in raids and fractals. However this let's the build diversity for Warriors be rather meager. (In optimal compositions) Now let's take a look at the trait Shared Empowerment from the Revenant. It applies might to your group whenever you apply a buff to yourself or an ally. Right now when you really try hard it gives around 12 might max to your allies. While you can easily reach 25 might yourself. I know if you just remove the ICD you will stay on 25 might nonstop even out of fight. That's why I thought just add might whenever you apply a buff to yourself instead. It has mostly the same ramp up as Phalanx Strength has. Now I hear you say "You can't replace a PS, think about Empower! Think about banners." True that. I'm not a numbers guy yet Rev brings Assassins Presence and 33% boon duration for the subgroup. My point is, if Shared Empowerment would get a little tweak we would have a maybe fair choice between a PS warrior, Power Rev or maybe a Might share ele. tl;dr wishful thinking of a power Rev to be relevant again Discuss :) Edit: darn autocorrect. Now the title is messed u [link] [comments]
What exactly is going on with the main races' relationships with the Inquest and Sons of Svanir? Posted: 06 Jul 2017 03:44 PM PDT In Rata Sum and Hoelbrak, there's a small section where Inquest have recruiters and the Svanir have a little enclave where they can stay. These, coupled with the events early in the personal story, portray these two groups as something that we're typically opposed to, but not outright hostile and violent towards until they overstep their boundaries and cause trouble for us. Meanwhile, out in the open world, every player and npc seems to have a gleeful "slaughter on sight" policy towards these groups. What the heck is going on with that? Svanir may eventually degrade into Icebrood, but we see plenty who are just regular Norn who think that dragon is the best spirit. The Inquest are just something between a 4th College and a large krewe, and even have a seat on the Asura's ruling body. But absolutely everyone is totally fine with murdering them as soon as they step out of Rara Sum? tl;dr: Green Nameplates are powerful things and everyone in Tyria is a homicidal maniac. Posted: 06 Jul 2017 07:20 AM PDT Between Anet server links and bandwagon players, the new Vabbi is now so over-stacked that they have nothing left to do but camp spawn spots. Didn't that shit go outta style in 2014? C'mon Anet, fix this shit. [link] [comments]
The females NPCs in Lion's Arch have undergone voice changes Posted: 06 Jul 2017 03:30 PM PDT Here are two videos showcasing what I mean. Sorry they're horrible quality! I tried to record and play with both hands at once so things got difficult but hopefully you can tell what's happening. This video is a BIT better. [link] [comments]
Nifty idea I had while doing my 3rd world completion Posted: 05 Jul 2017 11:54 PM PDT Ever been doing one of those gold hearts on the map and there's an option to collect and return some items to the NPC? Ever hacked and slashed and collected your way to fill up 75% of that golden heart and returned to the NPC to find the items you've collected only get you to 99.9% of a heart, making you go back and poke that last skritt? My idea is to have a section on your golden heart progress tracker-thing showing how much progress handing in the items you collected would reward you with. Excuse the horrid paint skills but something like this is what I have in mind. Thanks for listening! [link] [comments]
[Lore] Future of the Centaurs? (S3 Spoilers) Posted: 06 Jul 2017 04:29 AM PDT This post contains unmarked spoilers for Living World Season 3 Episodes 4 and 5. While most people might've focused on the engi farm in Lake Doric before the centaurs upped their sieging game, I was running through Watchtower Cliffs and wondering about one thing: for a centaur-heavy area there were no tamini and, more importantly, no modniir there, only harathi. The harathi of course make sense: their hinterlands are next to Lake Doric, they're master besiegers and inventors as well as the most sizable centaur tribe, so they'd have the biggest presence by association. The tamini are often used as scouts or leading small raiding parties for centaur army but their absence from Doric makes some sense given the bigger focus on siege and charging attacks. What's more surprising, however, is the complete absence of modniir. Why, you ask? Well, for one simple thing: the centaur alliance is led by the modniir who more or less forced the other two tribes to join them in their war against humanity. High-ranking modniir like sages led bigger assaults on settlements (even seen in the human tutorial instance where one summons the greater earth elemental), and the alliance as a whole was led by the late Ulgoth, Modniir War King, from Harathi Hinterlands. Given the importance of the assault on the hated humans' capital and the strategic location of Lake Doric between Divinity's Reach and the Hinterlands, why haven't the modniir showed up to coordinate the harathi besiegers? Why are the centaurs at Watchtower Cliffs led by the Harathi High Sage and commanders instead of a Modniir High Sage? Given the timeline of Tyria, we're now living in 1330 AE. The assault on Harathi Hinterlands took place around the middle half of Personal Story so in 1325 AE, which means it's been five years since Ulgoth's demise. Perhaps the modniir lost some power following the War King's death and they may be struggling to find a replacement, especially when their war with humanity isn't going so well. Even if Caudecus came to offer Bloodstone enhancement and an alliance with the White Mantle for that final push against Divinity's Reach, it appears that not all the centaurs answered the Confessor's call. Does the absence of modniir and tamini hint at recent changes in the alliance? Could it be that the harathi have used the War King's demise to take over as the de facto leaders of the centaur alliance? Did we only see a still fanatical splinter faction continuing the fight in Lake Doric while the rest of the centaur forces are figuring out their new command structure? Given the return of gods to the GW2 narrative to replace the Bandit/White Mantle plot that had dominated human story before, it makes me wonder if we'll ever continue the centaur plot and perhaps one day venture into Woodland Cascades where the centaur settlements are located in. Will we see centaur foals and the day to day activities of centaur civilians past the Hinterlands? Could we follow the path set out by the likes of Outcast Qindova and try to make peace between humans and centaurs at long last, maybe support an insurrection among their ranks to replace their war-hungry fanatic and oppressive leaders with a more peaceful regime as we know some centaurs are forced to work in the alliance's army against their will? Humans and charr are already on the right path to peace, so surely the same can happen with humans and centaurs one day (I imagine Jennah would be all for it if given a chance especially now when she neutered the Ministry's power for the time being), or is the effort doomed to fail after the many crimes both sides have committed in the lengthy war? Would humans like Broil Cane, who have an intense hate for centaurs, ever stop fighting even if their government began supporting a peace treaty, or would they become vigilantes and renegades continuing the massacre of centaurs and thus continuing the cycle of hatred and revenge? What will the future of the centaur alliance be in the end as far as Tyria is concerned? That's a question I hope ANet will tackle one day as I believe there's lots of fascinating lore to be mined here, especially when comparing it to the charr-human treaty situation in Ebonhawke and beyond. I'd be interested in seeing how charr in particular would view the whole human-centaur conflict and the attempts at peace using their own experiences as points of reflection and how the overall centaur population in Woodland Cascades would react to sylvari as 'nature spirits' and how maybe sylvari could be instrumental in trying to approach the centaur beliefs from another angle and help them forgive humanity's crimes. Also, as a sad sidenote to end this post with: reading Caudecus's correspondence in Episode 4 about how he orchestrated the escalation of centaur war and tricking War King Ulgoth into becoming his ally by sending Tervelan's mercenaries to frame the Falcon Company, and thus Queen Jennah and the Krytan government by association, for the murder of Ulgoth's family (as we also learn in the Dead Sister storyline in the human Personal Story) made me look at Ulgoth in a new way. The reveal of Caudecus's selfish involvement and using the centaurs as his puppets for his game of political chess helps flesh out Ulgoth considerably, giving a tragic element to the War King's story and explaining some of his villainy. Instead of the hyper-aggressive, mad despot Ulgoth appeared to be with his endless prideful taunts which many adventurers mocked during the meta chain in Harathi Hinterlands, I now see a grieving father and husband channeling his despair over the loss of his family into pure hate that drives him onward and dragging others into his bloody crusade of retaliation against Kryta, kind of like if the Punisher took his brutal war on crime to a whole new level by recruiting/intimidating thousands to follow his lead. I now picture something not unlike the cemetery scene with the Punisher from Daredevil Season 2 where the Punisher recalls a bittersweet memory...with the dying Ulgoth perhaps having last words like these with his slayers, inspired by the Punisher's touching monologue: "So, it's finally time. You see, two-legs... whole time on the battlefield you're thinking you'll be scared, right? But then, you're not. See, that part of it was always easy for me. Killing. Even watching my fellow warriors die, it just... it didn't mean anything. The first time I got scared, however, was on a trip back home. What if I don't make it back to my family? What if I never see them again? "But I return home safe and sound and see my daughter there playing on a field of poppies outside the camp. She's got no idea that Daddy's home. I smile and watch her play. You can't even understand it: how does something that beautiful come from me? And she finally looks up and sees me. I see her. By the Elders, that's real! "Boom. In an instant, she gallops across the field. She's in my arms, squeezing me so tight I swear I'll bust a rib. We just stayed there like that for what felt like forever, holding each other. Despite being a chieftain and a battle-hardened warrior, I cried so hard. But not my baby. Not my daughter. You know, she's my girl. She's... She's not crying, she's holding me up. My daughter's keeping me on my feet. She says, "I knew it, Daddy, I knew it." And then we go home. I see my wife and son. Place is the exact same. It's like it was just holding its breath waiting for me to get back. "Then it hit me. All of it, you know. The first time I felt how tired I was from all the fighting. You ever been tired, two-legs? I just couldn't do anything. All the things... I couldn't take my wife to bed. Ball with my son. I was simply too tired, I couldn't even drink ale, you know. But not her. My daughter was up. See, she wanted me to tuck her in. She outgrew it, she knew it, but she didn't care. She wanted it. She had her favorite bedtime story: The Brave Little Centaur. I told her that story every night before this. I told it every single night, but, see, that was over now because Daddy's home now. She looked at me and she begged me. She begged. She begged. I said, 'No. Daddy's too tired. But I'll... I'll tell you tomorrow night. I'll tell you tomorrow night. I promise.' "Yeah. Never think that... for her, there was never going to be any tomorrow, see. The last time I'd see her, I'd be holding her lifeless body in my arms. Meat was spilling out of her, the place that her face used to be. Yeah. I think I'm done, two-legs. I think I'm done." Maybe next time I do the meta event in Harathi Hinterlands, I'll stop by and honor Ulgoth with a salute after his fall despite all the horrible things he's done. Perhaps one day we'll see peace between humanity and centaurs and make sure the crimes committed against both races out of ambition and hatred will never happen again, and they can finally coexist in the same land as allies instead of enemies. Your thoughts? [link] [comments]
