Hysterical Alice appeared in GW2 (cosplay)

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:51 PM PDT

Hello, I've recently created new outfit for my necro in "Alice: Madness Returns" style and I felt like sharing for all the Alice fans in here.

The original game outfit: https://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/americanmcgeesalice/images/0/0c/Hysteria.png/revision/latest?cb=20140711163839

The female David Attenborough of Tyria: sugarwraith's nature documentaries of tyrian culture, flora and fauna.

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 12:11 PM PDT

I only stumbled over her by accident, thanks to someone else linking it. And it's a shame to have to find her in that way.

So, as a manic fan of nature documentaries as well as Guild Wars 2, I'd like to spread it around a bit. Allow for others to enjoy it, too.

(And hopefully have her create a metric shitton of documentaries about literally everything in the game forever so I can binge watch for a year straight. cough)

So, without further ado, I present to you:

Life on Earth Tyria

Thanks, lady!

4th of July Tour of HoT - NA

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 10:27 AM PDT

Hello peeps and peepetes, Tomorrow July 4th I'm bring back the Tour of HoT! We'll take you from Shipwreck Peak Waypoint in Verdant Brink through Auric Basin and Tangled Depths covering all Waypoints, Hero Points, Mastery Point Insights and Strongboxes plus a few Mastery Point Achievements. Along the way we'll do a few events, get some hard to find Vistas and PoI as well as some AP achievements. We'll make it a pretty good loot and XP zerg along the way.

You won't need any Waypoints to start, I'll never call one we've not run under, and Basic Glide gets you 90% plus of everything!

This is a moderately paced helpful 'no peeps left behind' run. Low stress fun is what we're after. If you've never been on my Tour of HoT it is a lot of fun and we usually get a great and entertaining group! It's a full day but feel free to come for an hour or two. Heck, if you got guildies feel free to bring a crowd as we get over 50 we'll just open a second squad!

The run starts at Shipwreck Peak in VB at 6pm Server Time (2pm EDT, 1pm CDT, 11am PDT). It is North American Server, sorry EU. I'll post the squad on LFG/Open World/#### {whatever number thing the new LFG is for Verdant Brink} around 20 minutes before the start. I will re-post it to LFG/open world/Auric Basin and Tangled Depths as we enter those areas if you want to join later.

If you need an invite I'll be on an hour before the run starts and you can Whisper me for an invite; I'll probably be running on a Mesmer named Trix Morrigna though if we get enough Mesmers in squad I may run on my main Trixi Morrigna. My account is Morrigna.1704 and feel free to mail me in game for more info!

*And because I get constantly asked: Tips are accepted - and appriciated- but ABSOLUTELY not required! The run is free, no charge, the fee is Zero!

Do you like all the weapons/playstyles your favorite classes have to offer? Are there any you really dislike?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 08:47 AM PDT

I just came back to the game after a long hiatus and bought HoT yesterday. I mainly pvp but started the expansion story on my main (necro). I unlocked the greatsword and reaper's shroud and had a lot of fun, but it got me thinking about how I tend to only like certain aspects of a class and dislike others.

With my necro, I've always thought axe was a bad weapon, but mained dagger (which is also pretty boring honestly). I love messing around on burn guardian but don't care for using greatsword and hammer, etc. I like playing condi engi, but dislike rifle (maybe I just like condi classes?)

Anyway, what's your main class, and do you play all the playstyles it offers using different builds and weapons, or do you only like some and dislike others?

[Build] Arcana Staff Tempest - 37K Realistic

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 03:46 PM PDT

DISCLAIMER: Use this build only with a magi druid, due to the boons they can give makes this a pretty good build with bountiful power! Works perfectly in some pug raids!

Hey there,

I've been using this build for quite a while, after testing and trying a lot. I've come to the conclusion that this build is actually quite good on particular bosses. Only downside is that it'll only work if you have a magi druid providing retaliation, vigor and protection.

Anyway, let's get straight into it.

The build:

The gear is the same as the normal staff build you can find on metabattle.com or qtfy.eu

The traits in fire and tempest are the same as the normal staff build. And the traits in arcana are Middle - Middle - Bottom.

You want to get as many boons as possible and a high uptime of them too. So, we take Renewing Stamina for the Vigor. Elemental Contingency for the retaliation/swiftness when you are struck. And of course Bountiful Power which makes this build on par with other builds.

The rotation:

https://youtu.be/UM44tCrLCOs (Sorry for the bluryness, full power infusions)

About the boons, I've used the boons a magi druid could provide, thus making it fairly realistic I would say.

The rotation it self is pretty familiar to normal staff, but you go into air every single time after finishing your rotation in fire. After using your icebow for the 2nd time, you stay in fire till your glyph is on a 9-10 second cooldown and switch to air.

This makes it so when you finish casting air overload your glyph will be off cooldown right after you're done casting it, thus making your rotation pretty fluid.

Bosses I would use this build on

As I said, only use it with a magi druid in your party.

Cairn - Works pretty nice for this boss, don't have proper logs of it since I got quite unlucky lately with the kills I've had.

Mursaat Overseer - Not a big hitbox, but still pretty good actually. Here is a kill with pretty good numbers I've had.

https://goo.gl/WaJuSC (Icebow got stolen near the end so, rip dps :( )

Deimos - On deimos it's a quite good build, you'll most likely have a minstrel chrono as well. Providing more boons than you can get everrrrrr. Only downside is that if your chronos don't distort the slams, I would say you're cucked then. But other than that it scales pretty well with the signet Saul procs on deimos, getting pretty high numbers. Don't have a proper log, sadly enough.

Sloth - Works quite decent, if your boons don't get corrupted by slublings. High burst for every 20%.

Vale Guardian - I don't know if it's worth mentioning or not, but I think it's only comparable to scepter/warhorn if you wall the boss, since you can just spam fgs 3 into the wall.

Other than the bosses I've mentioned, I don't think it's worth using this build. Scepter/warhorn is most likely still better. But this build is just here to show that there is more than the current builds to play. I quite enjoying playing staff, it's my favorite weapon, so I'm really happy that this is something that works!

Thanks for reading, I would love to hear opinions/feedback on things that might've been better than I've done so far with the build.

[EU] The Crossroads Inn - Raid Training - Tue/Thu/Sat

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 05:49 AM PDT

Hello reddit,

We are the Crossroads Inn. A EU raid training community that has been running raids for long time. In the past we advertised our trainings on reddit, but due to rise in signups we had to stop promoting. Now, with some new and wonderful commander additions, we can go at it again.

Recently most of our trainees graduated as they joined one of our 5 statics or killed all bosses and felt confident enough to try their luck in lfg.

Every tuesday, thursday and saturday at 17.30GMT/ 19.30CEST we will start inviting people who signed up for our trainings.

Trainings will not always run smooth and you are responsible for your own skills. It might also be possible that we have too many trainees and not enough commanders to teach. We do apologize, but there is nothing we can do about it. The groups are randomly selected.

Difficulty of raid bosses scales up towards the end of the week. Therefore saturday requires some experience to participate.

To join, visit our discord and fill our sign up form, available in the #bountyboard channel.

Requirements to raid with us:

  • Exotic or higher armor.
  • Exotic or higher back piece.
  • Ascended weapons.
  • Ascended trinkets.
  • Correct food and utilities for the build your are using.
  • Complete elite specialization.
  • Decent understanding of your class mechanics and a raid metabuild. You can check qT . - If you are not sure about your build feel free to join our Discord and we will be happy to give you some tips.
  • Obviously have discord installed and be willing to listen and communicate during the trainings (voice is not mandatory, but highly recommended).

If you are an experienced raider who wants to help the community. We are always in need of commanders and aides (a second-in-command who will help the commanders and provide some social interaction too).

Role of commanders:

  • Flexible with classes and confident in your knowledge of them
  • Complete knowledge of bosses you feel confident with (so not all is required)
  • Ability to make calls and instruct trainees on class skills and boss mechanics

Role of aides:

  • Have chrono/druid and dps. Be confident in your knowledge of them
  • Quick learner, dependable, with the confidence to speak in voice chat and interact with commander.
  • Knowledge on all bosses is not required.

For more information:

join our discord. Take the time to read through our FAQ. Ask in the question channel if something is unclear or poke one of our admins/staff.

UGO PvP Cash Tournaments JULY! Signups, Donations and more!

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 11:47 AM PDT

Good day all!

In June you raised over $1.5k for 20 players between NA and EU which is epic!

Julys tournaments are just around the corner and I would like to remind you about sign ups and donations! Free agents as well as teams are able to sign up:

EU – 16th July – https://goo.gl/u8HshF <—- Signup - Starts 2pm BST NA – 30th July – https://goo.gl/WZCTUv <—- Signup - Starts 2pm EST

FREE DOLLAR: Inputting the codes below is VERY important for the donations. We get $100 free per tournament as long as a viewer/player/staff is entering the codes below into the region donation page. You can do this easily for free right now! You can use one code per tourney. In June we had $50 of free codes per tournament, so we really want to keep the ball rolling on this initiative.

Prize Pool Donation Link:

EU – https://matcherino.com/b/tournaments/6827/description Use code UGOEU2 to donate your FREE dollar to the tournament!

NA – https://matcherino.com/b/tournaments/6828/description Use code UGONA2 to donate your FREE dollar to the tournament!

We have 100 free $1 codes to use per tournament up from 50. As long as we get 100 people per tourney entering the above code into each page, we will raise at least $100 on top of any amount raised by the community.

NOTE: All teams MUST use our discord server to communicate on tournament days. Please feel free to join below whether you are participating or not:

https://discord.gg/xXDfByu

We are also always still looking for admins and staff to help out with the tournaments, so reply here or ping myself or an admin in our discord if you're interested.

Thank you again if you watched, participated or staffed the past two events and we look forward to seeing you in July! Many thanks

We are thinking about offering a donation reward for viewers that do donate over a certain figure to watch the tournament in game. We would love your feedback on this!

UGO Team.

Drawing I made for a friend. They're his nephew's ingame characters. What do you guys think?

Posted: 02 Jul 2017 09:36 PM PDT

It sucks that people don't like HMS Divnity. I personally like it.

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 07:06 PM PDT

People often throw around that it's a "joke" weapon, but I actually think it's a well-crafted one. It's just that it came after Predator and that weapon is sleeker/cooler-looking, but I feel like people often dismiss this weapon quite quickly because of that fact.

What I do love about this weapon is the meaty projectile. Lasers and energy orbs are cool and all, but there's just something satisfying about lobbing a burning sphere of iron to your enemies. With that said I feel like the legendary needs better sound for it, the current sfx is a bit too soft to convey a cannon fire shot.

There's also the fact that it's not tech-looking. It matches the whole cannonball aesthetic - i.e. a handcannon of sorts. At the very least, the ship motif fits with it. I feel though that the side cannons should fire only when you're firing a shot rather than when you pull it out. At least it gives it the "exhaust" feel as you release a projectile.

It makes me wonder if it would be loved more if it came out before Predator.

Exploring core tyria - as a large story?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 01:26 PM PDT

Ive been paying attention to scouts on explorable maps (the ones that give you a short briefing and unfog the map to show you where a few hearts are), and also to the chat you get from renown heart npcs as well as the npcs around it.

Generally speaking i find it very interesting how it all tells many small stories that are happening locally on the map but more often than not it connects to something larger, sometimes even to the next map.

Like for example ,the centaurs. You help the seraph defend in queensdale, you capture some territory in kessex hills, gandaran fields gets more intense with the ascalonian settlements and the grand siege and "boss fight" in harati hinterlands wraps it all up.

In the meantime you learn more and more about the seraph, humans, centaurs, mondirs harati and tamini centaurs and what their role in the war is and other things.

Then theres also some interactions with the bandits which leads in a whole new story.

Another more dynamic example would be orr zones. Before orr zones (specially he ones close by) has more risen and pact activity and you learn tidbits about both.

Once in orr zones everyone treats you like a soldier and you push trough multiple fronts in order to get closer to arah, but before that the pact must take control of the corrupted temples and fortify the path to arah.

So my question is has anyone look into this before or do people just rush from a-b and ignore all text and npc interactions?

If i wanted to look at all core tyria maps as one giant story with many chapters what would be a good way to start and finish it?

Also (taking into consideration that my char doesnt know destinys edge, dragons watch, isnt a pact commander, or a member of any order/pact...since thats how the npcs treat you) what race should my character be and with what "background story" to get the most out of the "core tyria story"?

Is Ezbuilds up to date?

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 05:44 AM PDT

MetaBattle vs tinyurl.com/ ezbuilds

Are those builds still up to date? I main elementalist and the builds on Ezbuilds are totally different than MetaBattle. Is the difference NA vs EU? Why would there be that much of a difference?

Ezbuilds suggests Staff Backline Ele as the meta Ele build but Metabattle says that meta fell out of favor a long time ago. Also Ezbuild's tempest build (uses staff and is DPs focused) is completely different than the MetaBattle one (which uses dagger/focus and is mainly support focused)
