The Zephyrites and the Bazaar of the Four Winds are not the same. Posted: 09 Jul 2017 12:18 PM PDT Every other day I see this conversation on reddit, the forums or in game. It usually goes something like this: Person 1: When will we return to the Labyrinthine Cliffs/Bazaar of the Four Winds? Person 2: Never, the Zephyrites crashed in Drytop. person 1: But they have had 3 years to rebuild. Now it's true that they have had 3 years to rebuild, but the point that the bazaar is somehow dependent on the Zephyrites in the first place is just flat out wrong in terms of lore. To quote the Bazaar of the Four Winds release page
This was even more clear when the patch was active. The Zephyrites are only visitors to the bazaar, like us. The Bazaar is a yearly even that happens regardless of the Zephyrites condition. The voting during the next patch, Cutthroat Politics, was all about Ellen Kield and Evon Gnashblade attempting to establish a trading deal with the Zephyrites. The captain council agreed that whoever could land a deal with the Zephyrites to show up every year would get the vacant seat. Then the Master of Peace said whoever gets most votes gets the deal. In the end, this all probably does not matter anymore, I just had to get it out there. If we want to return to the Labyrinthine Cliffs, Anet would not need to justify the Zephyrites absence. It could have been a yearly event even without the Zephyrites. If anything, it shows that Living Story Season 1 would be fresh content if ANet re released it now. [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2017 05:08 PM PDT I can't believe no-one brought this up so far afaik. I love the overall design of the tassets and wore it for a while until one day I rotated my camera and saw something dangerous sticking out of an odd area. I mean, there are protective armors, and then there are OVERLYPROTECTIVE armors. I don't even know where would this fit in. I can't help but to wonder what the designers' had in mind when placing that thing there. Let's hold hands and pray. [link] [comments]

Participation decay in WvW for non-kill or defensive activities needs to be adjusted Posted: 09 Jul 2017 10:54 AM PDT I am seething right now. I had about 15-20 minutes to do something, and thought I would go participate in wvw. Now, I already know that the first half of that time would be useless reward wise unless I'm able to find a zerg and successfully kill some dudes. Taking a camp, a sentry - even a single tower - does not give enough participation to get credit. I've accepted that. But since I didn't have the time to find a zerg and hope they had something specifically useful in mind other than running between the two farthest points on the map in hopes of encountering another group, I decided to do some soloable activities. I noticed that the other team held bloodlust, but one of the monuments had been capped for our team recently, so I called out on the map asking for one person to help me, and started capping. I spent five minutes running back and forth between two bloodlust/monument points long enough to capture them and (with the help of the second person standing static on the third monument) gain bloodlust for my team. My participation went from 25ish% (from the event of getting the first monument) to 0% as I ran back and forth between the captured ruins making sure they did not decap, successfully acquiring major bloodlust for my team. What makes me mad is that it didn't just keep my participation static without raising it (which would be lame too) but it actually allowed my participation to decay to zero, while I was actively running between two points - not even staying on one point where it could be argued that i was AFKing. Similarly, last night I was actively protecting Bay keep, shooting the trebuchet and hitting/getting damage on a midsized group (15-20) of invaders, and the same thing happened. I did not get credit towards the defense of the keep event, and I experienced participation decay, because none of the guys we chased off actually died. Same thing with arrow carts at a keep in the desert borderlands, preventing a larger group (30-40) from fully building the catapults they wanted to use to break into the keep. Both kinds of my actions, while not as flashy as taking a tower or killing half a zerg, were legitimate, tangible benefits to my team. It's not like I was standing around on a monument waiting for someone to come decap it, nor just standing in a keep waiting for someone to drop by. I was running back and forth and got people a buff that will give our team more points as we play. I was actively participating in the defense of the keep, ACTUALLY HITTING PEOPLE FOR REAL DAMAGE, driving them off. And yet my participation decayed instead of staying the same or rising. This affects not only my pips, but also the amount of reward track points that I can earn. I do enjoy the gameplay of WvW, so one could argue that it is its own reward. However, it's incredibly frustrating that the monetary rewards are gated in such a way that actively supporting my team PREVENTS me from getting those rewards. I'm sure the team can function without me, but I wanted to participate. I enjoy doing these little things that I can squeeze into my free time to help our world along. I would like to be able to drop in to wvw, be useful, AND get rewards. However, if the game is going to exploit my assistance in that way, why would I go into WvW during those short periods of availability? I'd be better off doing basically anything else. PSA: The game releases website is there for us. Posted: 09 Jul 2017 06:30 PM PDT I forgot for more than 1 year already that this website exists: And like me, probably others that won't even know it exists. I feel it's a very cool way to teach the newbies all what happened in gw2 so far, so... spread the word! run! tell your guildies! [link] [comments]
Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:47 PM PDT Hi, sorry if I'm missing something, but why does something like cured thick leather require 4 of the sub material thick leather section, but something like mithril ingot requires only 2 of the sub material? Mithril I can even go and mine from nodes, but there is no leather node I know of? I would have thought you would make the more accessible material require a higher number for refining? Can anyone give me some clarity on this? [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 02:12 PM PDT https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0SS3oouaAyg After WvWing for 6 weeks I managed to get my hands on the new heavy T3 WvW chest skin. I'm a big fan of the particle effects, not a big fan of the discrepancy between previews or how it dyes. Here's a few things I noticed, I've also got a video showing the animations in game. -The blue glow is undyable, and as you can see, it's a very similar color to Glorious Hero's Pauldrons, so if you do well in ATs, you should be able to mix and match pieces of T3 Triumphant and Glorious Hero's and create a good looking combo. The glow also has a "flowing" effect which is subtle but a nice touch. -I don't know when ANet is going to fix the discrepancy between preview and actually in game. The preview looks way too light compared to what the armor looks like in game. Reminds me of that post about Warbringer where the flames didn't look so great in game. -Even though the armor's darker in game, it's still pretty absurdly bright. Dye it with shadow abyss and it'll look gray. This armor has the same problem as the legendary armor. -Tentacles are awesome. [link] [comments]
What is the cheapest legendary to craft? Posted: 09 Jul 2017 05:17 PM PDT So I'm currently crafting Nevermore and have been alarmed at the sheer amount of materials involved in making it. I kinda had fun collecting the ravens and then finishing the gift, but the final stages of making the other gifts is rather exasperating. 250 amalgamated gems and all the other material's involved is going to take me forever. If I choose to make another legendary, do they all have similar material requirements or are some quicker and cheaper to make than others? [link] [comments]

Bloodstone Visage - aura effect really dim? Posted: 09 Jul 2017 07:19 PM PDT I just have a quick question and maybe someone has a fix/answer? I've recently started playing again and when I saw this headgear, I was so hyped about it. However, after obtaining the Bloodstone Visage, I realized the aura is definitely not what I was previewing... bit disappointing. Surprisingly, when I change the shaders options in the graphics menu from High to Low, I get the effect that was being previewed. Is this really supposed to happen? Get a better effect on lower graphics settings? I have example images below. You'll note that the only setting changed is shaders. I'm a bit sad :( EDIT Also noticed if you go super close to your character making them slightly invisible, you also get the effect that is previewed. [link] [comments]
Since when has this been in the game? o.O Posted: 09 Jul 2017 04:18 PM PDT Appearently you can change into an eagle and fly around Air keep if you hold all shrines o.O. Since when has this been a thing? [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 03:28 AM PDT After my recent post of attempting 'smash the dragon' we were very close but unfortunately failed. I've been informed many would like such an achievement and it's rarely ran anymore. So! after this attempt I have formed a small but growing guild: Smashers Of Shatterer [SoS] Please send me mail Volcanora.8951 if you would like an invite for future events. It's easier to gather people prior in a guild and just continue to beat the Shatterer and give the community a hand with a difficult achievement. I can not guarantee success from the get go as i've only just started running them but as I keep trying we get closer and closer. We have the strategy all set just need the people :) [link] [comments]

Posted: 09 Jul 2017 05:50 PM PDT Which class would you say has the most "passive" sustain. I'm in need of a brawler type for wvw that is somewhat tanky. My reaction times aren't always the greatest so something that happens passively is very much welcomed. I'm in search of a class that'll allow me some leeway in terms of effing up rotations and such. I'm guessing the class i want is warrior? [link] [comments]

Mesmer, Condi Mesmer or Chrono Berzerker for a fresh 80? Posted: 09 Jul 2017 06:25 PM PDT I saw a few builds in Quantify, but it boiled down to a Berzerker armor chronomancer, or a Condi mesmer with Viper's. assuming I don't have any gear from other 80s, which one should I work towards? Does it make any difference? From my understanding, the 'viable' one is the Chrono one, but the easier to use is the condi one. Id have to add that I need to do all the open world content.
