Civ 5 ranged strength and combat strength flipped?

So there I am trying my hardest to kill all of Korea's hwachas, and I notice their base defense is 26. On closer inspection, and actually verifying the math for the first time in years of playing this game, I noticed that any time I attack an enemy ranged unit with a ranged unit of my own (or anything), my guy attacks with his combat strength instead of his ranged strength, and the bad guy defends with his ranged strength instead of his combat strength!

Do I not understand how combat works in this game? Or is their something terribly wrong, possibly even with one of my hundreds of mods? Anyone else have this happen?

[Civ 6] Best starters Civs for a Civ 5 player?

I only had ~250 hours in Civ 5, so by no means I'm a veteran player. Which are the best civs to start learning Civ 6? By "best", I mean:

  • Doesn't teach bad habits

  • Versatile

  • Allows me to learn Civ 6 in general without focusing too much on that particular Civ.

Why are all the AI Civs so mean in CIV6?

I've played 45 hours of it so far (3 games) and so far all I've noticed that seems different from CIV5 is that everybody is a huge dick.
Like, I always just settle a city, spawn a scout and then a builder, and keep to myself. Never once have I started a single war in any of the games I've played but I always end up with every single CIV denouncing me and starting a ton of wars.
No joke, the last game I played lasted like an hour because by turn ~100 I was fighting 5 wars at the same time, when literally the only interaction I'd had with any of the other Civs was a single trade route.

Any advice to lead to better relations? I hate fighting wars in CIV games, I always have more fun just micromanaging cities

Been looking to play an online game but no one ever seems to be active in the chat/group, and you can't play a random online game because everyone quits within 10 turns. Anyone else trying to play a complete online game?
