Fallout - I hate Preston Garvey more than anyone I've ever hated in Fallout.

I hate Preston Garvey more than anyone I've ever hated in Fallout.

I seriously HATE Garvey more than anyone else I've ever hated in Fallout.

The guy throws temper tantrums when he doesn't get his way (when he can't own the whole Commonwealth), he offers you no support in the absolute suicide missions he sends you on, he or his people don't appreciate anything that I do for them, they just insult the "farm", talk about their fingernails, and accuse me of being a synth spy. The Minutemen absolutely suck and I'm glad they ate it in Quincy.

In a previous game I had asked the Minutemen to do ONE thing for me ONCE as their general. After hours of building them nice homes and doing loads of suicide missions, do you know what they said to me!? "What do you think this is, the army? I don't have to listen to you General."

That was the last straw. I killed all of The Minutemen and every last settler, sold their asses out to Nuka World's Pack, and now the only Minuteman left is Garvey. I'm on a PS4, so what mod will allow me to kill Pearston Gravy once and for all?

(Doing a current playthrough as the Overboss of Nuka World)

Idea: Sunglasses should give +1 PER in the daytime, but -1 at night or indoors.

I always thought this was something that should have been included. I know some glasses in NV/4 give bonuses, but they don't give debuffs in other situations, which I think would aid in immersion.

What improvements do you hope FO5 will bring to the table?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 01:36 PM PDT

For me:

-Get Rid of the dialogue wheel

-Maybe more factions

-more choices

-People actually know who you are (I'm the Minuteman General not just some scaver you Diamond City Resident)

-Power Armor intimidation factor depending on armor quality like Rust, Type (X-01 would be scary and a rusty T-45 not so much). I really don't find it that immersive when some bloke with a pipe pistol and rags tries to steal my stuff. Raiders should run and then ambush you in your power armor.

-More Silver Shroud like-lines. Something around how the perk Terrifying presence worked. Get another special dialogue option when wearing a special kind of outfit.

-Even more customization!(Yes I know modders can do that)

-No more workshop DLCs.

-Less Settlements, fewer deeper quality ones with Named npcs and such. NCR started from Shady Sands. Minutemen could start a country from my big a** starlight drive city i made. Or that guy that build a massive Paradise island town.

-Things that make sense. Whoo i'm director of the Institute, now I can do... Fetch quests.

P.S Wonder why you couldn't make some sort of pact, having like the minutemen as a Police Force, The institute and BoS scribes organizing the new Government, the rest of the BoS as the army. How could this be reached? And agreement that states that only mark 1(maybe 2) synths would be made with the purpose of servitude only. Or just make more Robots.

I just found something ironic in Fallout.

So in the Pre-War setting, everybody hates communism, right? There's the whole Red Scare, the war, the paranoia and all that. However, as soon as the War occurs, and everybody goes into the Vaults, they use a system where everyone gets equal food coupons, everyone has jobs assigned to them, and the Overseer as well as government officials have ultimate power. This system is better known as... well, communism.

Who is indisputably the most important person in Vault 101: He who shelters us from the harshness of the atomic wasteland, and to whom we owe everything we have, including our lives?

Your possible answers are:
The overseer.
The overseer.
The overseer.

The institute ending seemed like the obvious choice until I couldn't do what most of us probably wanted to do

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 10:43 PM PDT

So in the ending (spoilers), I sided with the institute. Not because I'm a heartless Bastard who thinks the Commonwealth is doomed.

I sided with them because they made me their leader. Why wouldn't I do that? I can steer the institute any direction I'd want to. The institute is arguably the best chance for humanity to return to a modern society. So why does joining the institute immediately force me exterminate the other factions and continue their questionable ethical practices when I could just use them for the same gain while being ethical? I'm their leader...

Found a ghoul that looked like The Incredible Hulk (easter egg-ish?)

Was fighting some ghouls outside Jamaica Plain and realised one had green skin and purple pants resembling the Hulk (with a lot less muscle). http://imgur.com/gallery/WRN4J

Fallout 1 play through

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 03:15 PM PDT

I've started a Fallout 1 play through and had some questions on the early game. Anyhow, the raiders that have kidnapped the two girls, is it possible to persuade them to give them up? My speech is around 42%. I only really have the option to attack or try and join which means killing them as a test to prove my loyalty.

Killing them all is not too hard, as once one goes down and you swipe a desert eagle and some armor, the rest are easy. I just wanted to know if it was possible to talk your way out of that one?

Also any unique locations that aren't necessarily given up via talk that I should check out?

Thanks All!

What do you think the next Fallout should ideally be?

Survival mode could use some limited fast travel

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 03:21 AM PDT

Completely love everything about survival mode and feel like it's the way F4 was meant to be played but whenever I start a playthrough with it the walking back and forth everywhere gets fucking tedious after a while.

It's great initially for exploration but after a while imo it just doesn't add anything anymore and instead starts detracting from the experience. I haven't actually gotten to a late game point in it yet but travelling to and from the Prydwen must be hell too.

What I'd personally like to see in the game is maybe an added perk level to the settlement building one where you can travel between settlements of yours with a trade route established as long as it only passes through zones that have been cleared of hostiles. You'd still have to carefully explore everywhere (in fact you would be incentivized to) and actually work towards unlocking fast travel but wouldn't have to spend time running back and forth doing nothing anymore once you've explored everything.

Dead Money is simultaneously the best and most frustrating DLC I've ever played

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 09:32 PM PDT

I'm currently in the basement of the bell tower, cowering in the darkness with no stimpaks,no ammo, and with a character whose melee weapons skill is only about 39. Basically i'm screwed, but the Oxhorn videos made me give Dead Money another chance and i'm glad I did, it's like Oceans 11 met the Thing and it's awesome.

3rd play through of New Vegas. Thank you.

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 03:48 PM PDT

I just got done with my 3rd play through of New Vegas. Holy shit I love this game. Ive played Fallout 3 once, New Vegas 3 times, and Fallout 4 4 times. And from what I've played, New Vegas is about an inch short of a masterpiece. Thank you to Obsidian Entertainment for making an incredible game, and thanks to the subreddit that kept telling me to play it.

One of the biggest subconscious influences in the game

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 06:58 AM PDT

Fallout has been a franchise that has always made sure to keep to the times that it represents. The soundtrack has always kept that feeling and has brought so many people joy, making them fall in love with old timey jazz that many people would think is dying. As a jazz and fallout lover myself, I applaud bethesda and the other companies that have taken on Fallout that they keep the integrity of the series and expose so many new people to this artform that they wouldn't otherwise appreciate. It's such a big part of history and is something that completely changed the world. I just wish that everyone was able to play these games and listen to there music, taking in everything and the beauty that these games are along with the classic music that comes with it. Thank you

What is the most fun type of build that you've had in FO4?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 03:26 PM PDT

So I may have just made the main quest impossible...

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 03:17 PM PDT

So this is my second playthrough as the brotherhood of steel and there have bee some parts of the game that I used console commands to skip. Namely the molecular level, this prevented me from ever meeting the railroad. This is where my problem started. Some console commands later and I am now on ad victoriam. The problem is, I also didnt want to do liberty reprimed and couldnt do tactical thinking because i had never met the railroad in the first place. Now, the gantry is there, but liberty prime is gone. There is just nothing there, it wont let me plug in the agotator and continue the quest. Does anyone have any idea what I should do? Any help would be appreciated.

Fallout New Vegas: Sweet Supply Caches Near Start?

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 09:10 AM PDT

Are there any sweet supply caches near the start of the game to get a stronger weapon? I tried playing on Hard and the enemies are just so bullet spongy, I'd like to rush some higher level gear so it's not so bad.

FNV won't load game on my computer.

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 02:56 PM PDT

So I've been trying to get FNV to load for so a while now. I get to the loading screen, press new game, and the intro cutscene plays, goes to the loading screen, then crashes. I used to be able to play on the same pc, and i used a lot of mods on it, but since im starting a new game, i dont think that should matter.

THINGS I'VE TRIED

Verifying Game Files (1 wrong, but just config)

Deleting all of NMM, deleting game and then redownloading game

updated drivers and .net framework

What kind of role or person would you be in the Fallout universe?

Posted: 11 Jul 2017 06:48 PM PDT

Now I know that we've all walked a lot of different roads in the world of Fallout: from a lone wanderer to a wasteland knight, a muscle bound mercenary to blood-thirsty psychopath. But what if you found yourself waking up in the Fallout universe one day? What kind of a person or profession would you want to pursue? For me at least, as much as a wanderer sounds fun...I would probably go with as some kind of Sheriff or law enforcement, probably for the NCR. Bringing law and order to the Wastes seems pretty cool. Long live the Republic!

CTD When scrapping in workshop menu at any settlement.

Posted: 12 Jul 2017 01:59 PM PDT

So basically I have this odd problem where random objects in any settlement will have a "fuck you" flag attached to them when scrapped. It can be anything from stairs to a bed to a storage container.

When I scrap that specific item the game CTDs without fail. I can have two of the exact same stairs next to eachtoher and one one will CTD the game; I can move it but the second I try to store or scrap it? gg

This happens with and without mods. However, scrapping it with "workshopbudget" doesn't produce a CTD. Is there any command to scrap an item besides deleting the entire settlement? Or should I just go with "disable; markfordelete"?
