New interview with Josh Sawyer on Fallout: New Vegas Posted: 16 Jul 2017 05:30 AM PDT https://steemit.com/gaming/@badastroza/interesting-people-7-josh-sawyer-on-fallout-new-vegas For those who don't know, Sawyer was the project director and lead designer on New Vegas. Not much new information, but it's interesting to read his take on the development of NV and the areas that could have been better. The people at Obsidian also still seem very open to the idea of doing another one, should Bethesda choose to outsource development on the next title. [link] [comments] |
Mr New Vegas, Three Dog or Travis Miles? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 08:25 AM PDT Just curious to see what peoples favourite radio host is. Personally, I really like Mr New Vegas. He is a classy as fuck host and really suits that fallout theme. He's confident, smooth and delivers news with style. Three dog was alright too, but I didn't really compare him to Mr New Vegas. Travis on the other hand becomes really annoying to me after the Confidence Man mission when he is talking in a really seductive, slow tone. It's like Bethesda wanted to have their own Mr New Vegas but it kinda ended sounding stupid. Anyways that is just my opinion. What about you guys? [link] [comments] |
Brotherhood of Steel weird behavior Posted: 16 Jul 2017 02:28 PM PDT Apparently these guys have no dignity at all. Should've been named Brotherhood of Teabags instead. [link] [comments] |

(Fallout 2) I think I made a mistake... Posted: 16 Jul 2017 03:18 PM PDT I saw some videos of a guy talking to the President of the Enclave on youtube but for some reason the president in my save is hostile (possibly because I've gone full rampage on the oil rig) Did I just miss being able to infiltrate the base? Hopes and dreams that come out of my in game chores. Posted: 16 Jul 2017 10:53 AM PDT My use of the Scrap Everything mod is mostly relegated to the various forms of filth that cover most of the American wastelands. After my third settlement I decided this would be a much better job for a robot. Pure dedication with enough firepower to obliterate anyone or anything that stands to interrupt its purpose. inb4 the mods that automatically remove all of the clutter. I want to have a chance of crossing its path of cleanliness and fear it turning on me when I knock a can off of a shelf. inb5 "Pick up that can" references [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Jul 2017 11:50 AM PDT Title says it all, what do you think is the coolest looking armor in each game? I've only played new Vegas and 4, so I can't speak for the other games. The coolest in New Vegas has to be the elite ranger armor, but I'm not really sure for 4. I guess that the Minuteman general outfit is pretty cool. What do you guys think? [link] [comments] |
Which DLC is the best for its value? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 04:09 PM PDT I was looking at expanding my game a bit, but I wanted to see what see which DLC had the most content / fun for its price [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jul 2017 11:23 PM PDT We've all been wanting a game just like New Vegas but with Fallout 4's engine (following 3 and New Vegas). Of course, Obsidian denied the making of Fallout: New Orleans. However, we can't give up hope for the future. My proposal comes in the location of the possible sequel: Boise. We don't know anything about Idaho at all. The only thing that's ever been mentioned about this state is the cut Fallout 2 area Abbey. It didn't even make it into the game! We don't know much about Idaho, which is a real shame. There's a lot of potential for interesting ideas in this diverse state. We all know how beautiful Fallout 4 is compared to 3 and New Vegas. With the forest north, the seaside to the east, and the Glowing Sea to the south, there's no shortage of beautiful areas to explore. The flat, dry area in between Boise and Nevada, the mountains just north of Boise, the dense forest just north of that with winding, twisty, dangerous roads being the only way through, and the large, beautiful lakes dotting the north all being vastly different areas to explore. We could possibly have Caesar's Legion finding their way north, and attempting to capture the city of Arco and attempt to fire up the old nuclear reactor (Arco was the first city in the world to be powered by nuclear power, fitting with Fallout's nuclear theme), powering the whole Legion. Perhaps the Brotherhood of Steel could have a chapter in Idaho, holed up in the old Micron campus, looking for old technology and staying because of the abundance of technology. As we know, the Great Khans fled to Wyoming following the events of New Vegas. Perhaps a DLC taking us to Yellowstone and meeting with the Khans once again? (Yes, part of Yellowstone is in Idaho.) We have McCall up at the end of Highway 55, a good place for a city, along the lake. Perhaps there's a reason that Highway 55's so dangerous, like Quarry Junction in New Vegas. I'm thinking about a Vault in Garden Valley, home to an experiment turning A group of people in Horseshoe Bend striving for live as it was pre-war, but a secret lies beneath the surface... (not cannibalism. That's been done before.) and maybe a raider group there that you can side with instead, because there's some treasure there in the river that the townspeople are hiding and you want it. I'm not the most creative person in the world when it comes to this, so I'm sure that someone could do something about Downtown Boise or the Mountain Home Air Force Base. I'm not very familiar with North Idaho (just goes to show how diverse and secluded this state can be sometimes), but I'm sure that Lake Coeur d'Alene, Lewiston, Moscow, and Sandpoint can have some interesting things going on. I'd love to see Idaho in a Fallout game. TL;DR: Idaho is a very interesting part of America that has a lot of potential for a Fallout game, since it's been unseen in any Fallout-related content [link] [comments] |

Is there any place i can find nice fallout Cosplay props, that dont cost ≥100 $? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 10:56 AM PDT I'm making a Fallout lone survivor Cosplay and am not the most talented prop builder. I'm mostly looking for the weapons but all sources to buy some are too expensive for me. Any ideas or some private Connections to prop makers would be nice. I'm from Germany btw. For Games like overwatch there is so much mass produced stuff, why not for Fallout? And yes, i own a pip Boy from the collectors Edition. [link] [comments] |
Consistency of the lore in the mods DUST and FROST. Posted: 16 Jul 2017 02:03 PM PDT Greetings fellow wastelanders! I am looking for experts and veterans of the Fallout franchise from all over the wastes to discuss two incredible mods. There are two mods out right now for New Vegas and Fallout 4 respectively, both very similar to each other and made by a talented modder on the nexus, /u/naugrim04. They are complete overhaul mods to their respective game that changes the mechanics to be more survival focused, and create a new world that does not revolve around the players actions, making the experience very difficult. *Here is a bit of background for the two mods, you can skip ahead if you are familiar.* FROST is set in the Commonwealth during nuclear winter just after the Great War, and DUST is in a ravaged New Vegas 20 years after the Second Battle of Hoover Dam. FROST's stories are about the Commonwealth just after the bombs hit. We get to see what happened to area's we visited in Fallout 4 just after the bombs fell. DUST places you in the middle of a different New Vegas than the one we saw as the Courier. The Cloud and the Tunnelers from the Divide have moved in, and much of the wasteland is filled with mutants, psychos, and much worse. *Background Over* DUST and FROST are basically just fan fictions for Fallout, but they were made with lot's of love as far as I could tell. So my question for you lore nuts out there, how did the creators do? Was the stories in both mods fitting and consistent with the established lore? Do you folks want to put these mods into your head canon? In my opinion, I think that DUST's portrayal on New Vegas's aftermath is pretty fitting, albeit very dark and pessimistic. I am not too keen on lore myself, so I can't really say if the new lore is consistent or not. I have yet to fully see what FROST has to offer, but so far I am digging the hell out of what is there. Here are some resources for you folk out there who haven't played the mods but are interested in the discussion: Note these are all heavy on spoilers. If you want the full experience, I suggest playing both mods, they are great and offer a really unique experience. Just a warning, the mods can be crushingly difficult and almost unfair at times. At their core, they are survival games, so they will be quite unforgiving to those who don't know what to do. So all you wasteland historians and storytellers, show me what you got! Vault tech has gone batshit insane Posted: 15 Jul 2017 04:55 PM PDT |
Posted: 16 Jul 2017 09:56 AM PDT EDIT: Disabling Essential Followers fixed it. I have Broken Steel installed. Both of them agree to do it, run into the airlock, then proceed to just stand there until the Purifier explodes after I cycle the airlock. Mod list: All DLC RH Ironsights Unofficial Fallout 3 patch Yoshikinakota's Hair Pack No repair needed (prevents degradation from use) Sydney Follower DIMONIZED Type 3 clothes GNR Enhanced Fellout Easy Hacking (because I am a lazy bum) Sprint Mod 100% Force Lock Chance (because again, I am a lazy bum) Essential Followers Dragonskin Tactical Outfit Colt M4 Carbines Followers Hire - skip follower hire count (note: I installed this in order to test and see if Charon would work, I initially did it without this mod and only Fawkes in my party). I need help identifying a robot I encountered in Fallout 4. Posted: 16 Jul 2017 09:41 AM PDT So i was at the edge of the glowing sea with nick valentine intending to find the rogue institute scientist, but the moment i stepped in i got like 12 rads so i noped out. I decided that since i was in the area, id do the BOS side quest where i get the farmers to "donate" their crops. On the shory walk to the farm, i found a little building with a sentry bot in a chain link enclosure at the side of the building. I decided to scavenge small building and i successfully got in and closed the door before the sentry bot was able to mess me up. I raided the small room and got nothing cool, but i realized i was stuck as the sentry bot was blocking the door. I tried taking pot shots at it through a window but that damn sentry bot has REALLY good reaction time. I decided i was too lazy to do this all day so i threw a vertibird calling gernade thing for a distraction. I had no idea where nick was, he was probably ded or something. So i hear the vertibird fly in and i start shooting the sentry bot, but all of a sudden the door opened! I freaked and ran to the back of the room and started loading .308 into the sentry bots leg. I noticed it wasnt shooting me anymore, so i went closer to investigate, and this humanoid, synth-ish looking robot was fighting the sentry bot. I think i saw it shoot some sort of lazer out of its head and the exposion killed me. I really want to know what that robot was, and this is my first playthrough so no major spoilers please. Im level 16 or 17 i think. [link] [comments] |
It's weird how nobody cares if you loot bodies Posted: 15 Jul 2017 04:33 PM PDT I was playing Fallout 2 when i stumbled across a fight between a caravan and some bandits. So i just stood in a corner waiting for the fight to end so i could loot some bodies. In the end the caravan guards won, but the master caravaneer was dead. I just walked up to his body and stole his stuff, while the caravan guards were watching me. I know this is an old game, but it's really weird how stuff like this keeps happening in modern games. Not even just Fallout, it happens in every game in which you can loot bodies. The only exception i can think of, is that guy who kills the protectron in Fallout 3 and attack you if you try to get the robot parts. [link] [comments] |
How to secure the nuka world zones? Posted: 16 Jul 2017 12:35 PM PDT I have no idea how :( I heard kill everything but do you have to kill the ones in the building? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 16 Jul 2017 10:06 AM PDT If you don't understand me, here's an example: I have Raul and ED-E and I did their personal quests, then I did Veronica's personal quest but then I left veronica. Do I still get her piece of ending? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 15 Jul 2017 04:30 PM PDT TL;DR Looking for a mod that makes enemies be able to spawn further away from the player. (and still be rendered) And be able to be killed by the player. In vanilla New Vegas, you can literally see enemies further than you can kill them. Which is bonkers. Alternatively, is there a mod that changes the way bullets work. Making it so that if you're sights are trained on an enemy. The bullet will actually hit them? Can't tell you how many shots I've missed, that were fired right on a targets chest... Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] |
