Mages Guild Monday - Share Your ESO Knowledge, Ask Questions, Get Info If You're New!

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 01:00 AM PDT

Hey folks,

Welcome to Mages Guild Monday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread on the subreddit!

Mages Guild Monday is a thread aimed at sharing tips, tricks, knowledge and information about the game.

Know of a place that yields a particularly good reward? Got a tip about how to most efficiently accomplish quests? Have some good intel on good ways to serve your alliance in PvP? Let the community know!

In addition, if you're new to following the game, this thread is your chance to ask questions and get help from veteran players.

Please keep in mind the 'no personal attacks' rule in our sidebar, disagree respectfully with others, and know that a repeated or seemingly obvious bit of knowledge may not be obvious to everyone.

We look forward to your contributions!

The truth about Normal Dungeons…

Posted: 03 Jul 2017 01:29 AM PDT

This post is aimed at all the casual players, or the players like me who after reading ESO subreddit are "scared" of getting into dungeons.

Let's say it bluntly: you should forget completely what you read up to now in this sub-reddit. The people who post here are mostly hardcore addicts to the game, many of them are players who spent hundreds of hours on ESO and have completed the hardest content there is. When they talk and rant and explain, It's all related to the 1% hardest content of the game.

Normal Dungeons are definitely NOT the hardest content. All these guys said is not applicable for you and me as long as we do only normal dungeons. You, as a low level or inexperienced player, should NOT WORRY!

Normal dungeons are a fun experience, and should be considered as a thing done for fun.

  • Don't worry about your DPS: it's irrelevant.

  • Don't worry about your role (tank, healer, dps): most of the time it will be irrelevant, and normal dungeons are where you can "learn" to work as a group.

  • Don't worry about your equipment

  • Don't worry about your level

  • Don't worry about dying, it's not a big deal.

  • Don't worry about the "dungeon mechanics": with normal dungeons they are few, not a big deal, and you're learning by doing. If the whole group dies then you just res and fight again…

Most often than not you will be in a group with at least 1 experienced player. This player should carry the group. If he's experiences he should NOT complain in a normal dungeon, he should lead by example. Most normal dungeons can be finished solo (yes, solo!), so there is not excuse to complain about teammates in a normal dungeons.

My personal experience: after reading this subreddit I became convinced that if I couldn't do 40k dps in dungeons, didn't know perfectly my "role", if I didn't know all the dungeons bosses mechanics, I would be yelled at, kicked out of dungeon groups, feel ashamed, have a horrible experience… So I waited until I was CP 340 with full gold equipment to start dungeons. As I didn't want to "have a bad experience and get yelled at" I completed most of normal dungeons solo. Then to complete the other dungeons, I was "forced" to try grouping… and guess what…

I did not get yelled at. I did not get judged. Normal dungeons were a piece of cake. Groups were nice, friendly, no pressure. There were times when none of us knew the dungeon, and that was OK. There were times when I was with 3 new players level 25, and that was fine too, I was GLAD they were there, because without them I would have waited in the Queue longer.

So don't worry, and just try the dungeon finder!

(One important note: In the "select specific dungeon" tab, be carefull as the first thing proposed is "veteran". The normal dungeons are below… ZOS, really…).

The amount that Grothdarr's pauldrons float off the character is a bit ridiculous.

What are some things other MMOs have that you think ESO needs?

Posted: 02 Jul 2017 06:36 PM PDT

The top answer is probably gonna be transmog since that's pretty predictable, but personally I'd like to see more mounts and pets you can grind dungeons for. Like a small ash titan pet. I don't mind the trophies, but I really don't use my house at all.

Discovering all Mundus Stones on the map shoud make them buyable at the writ voucher vendor

Posted: 02 Jul 2017 03:04 PM PDT

4000 crowns for each Mundus yah thats ok I won't buy it but its ok compared to crafting station prices on the housing tab. Just let us buy one with vochurs too. One coud be 350 voucher, I'd be ok with that! There is no other reason currently to discover them all (especialy the ones in cryo etc.)

[HELP] Out new guild member raided another guild's bank and dumped the stuff on us

Posted: 02 Jul 2017 05:17 PM PDT

Title says it all. We recruited a new member who ripped off another guild and donated the stuff to us. We gave them back the gold they entered in our raffle and kicked the player but we have all this stuff now that wasn't rightfully obtained. Anyone have a recommendation on how to find the original guild so it can be returned? We couldn't get the name off of the offender, we feel like shit about this.

Is orsinium worth the money?

Posted: 02 Jul 2017 03:03 PM PDT

I just worked out that Orsinium is $25 in the crown store but I just purchased morrowind for $18. Wondering if it's worth that amount and also if they'll ever lower the price. Kind of silly that I got morrowind for cheaper no?
