Servers down?

Anyone else having server down issues? Didn't see any posts about it yet so I was curious.

Edit: I'm on PC and i'm actually getting really, really, really annoyed with this shit happening. Owned the game less than a month and it's happened at least 20 times.

Edit 2: Anyone having issues logging into the website as well? It keeps saying my account is not found. Shit is frustrating.

Remove DLC dungeons from Normal roulette

Today I wanted to dust off a level 30 templar alt and try some tanking in the activity finder. 3 times in a row, I was sucked into half finished Ruins of Mazzatun. I completed it once because there two 630 Cp players to brute force, but the other two ended in frustration due to nobody understanding mechanics.

I can't be alone in finding this frustrating. The daily normal roulette is obviously geared for leveling, and some DLC dungeons are simply too difficult for a lot of players.

Also, what is with the absurd 10cp unlock for veteran? This lures way too many underpowered players into content that will not only frustrate them, but their team as well. The requirement seems obvious: 160cp.

For all the smart systems in this game, this activity finder area seems boneheaded and frustrating.

[PC] I'm terrible at PvP, any advice for a Warden who currently plays a stamina build?

I'm only champion lvl 46. I make it through PvE content just fine. I'm useful in dungeons, battlegrounds, and sieges. However, when its just me 1v1 against another player I always lose. I'm looking for any advice to make myself more durable, and balanced.

I don't want to extreme metagame, but I'd like to not be a liability to a cyrodil group. I'd also like to be able to actually get the achievement for Wrath of the Whitestrake, which I'm barely making progress on.

Hi guys! I'm not sure if this is the right place at all, so let me know if I should post somewhere else.

I've returned to ESO after a two year break. I've spent the last two months doing normal dungeons and a little pvp here and there to freshen up while reading guides and testing skills (I'm just CP175 and only one toon above 50), and now I'm stuck as hell. I feel like I've read every guide there is, but I have no idea where to go next, what to do, or how to even build my char.

I wanna do pvp with my vampire mag sorc, and there seem to be no definite way to build my char. I've got destro and resto at 50, most weapon skill between 40 and 50, all armor skills at 50. I seem to fall short on both sustain and survivability with my resto/desto build, as well as dmg (though that seems to be more my rotation than anything else). I have morrowind and imperial edition, but no DLC.

I'm not even sure what to ask for, if I'm being honest...

Do you guys have any tips?

Should I go for tankiness, sustain, dmg, should I use pets, what gear, etc..

Also; what are your favourite sorc builds?

What's a good 2nd weapon for a magicka sorcerer?

Just started a few days ago and I really like the sorcerer but when I got my 2nd weapon slot I couldn't figure out a good use for it.

What do ranged dps usually go for a 2nd weapon? I use a destruction staff of whatever is near my level right now. Seems redundant to have 2 bars of the same kind of dps spells and pets vanish if you swap weapons anyways. I can see other classes utilizing this like a dps bar and heal bar for templar, so I get the idea with it.

Is it a needed to have 2 weapons later for long fights and harder dungeons and should I not worry about it now? Or maybe resto staff as a backup? I play coop with my girlfriend so I haven't ever needed to worry about heals.

Sorry for the long post, just a bit lost with this.

Any way to hide your CP?

I haven't been playing for close to 8 months asides from a random login here and there.

I have a Morrowind CE sitting in my closet, unopened.

I stopped playing because raiding was a chore, and repetitively trying for VMoL HM was like bashing your head against a wall.

Now I feel like coming back and playing Morrowind with a fresh start, but I dont want to get sucked into competitive MMO-ing anymore.. it can be addictive and soul draining

Besides playing a completely fresh character and having to grind/get skill points, is there a way to play my CP 561 character without the expectations/assumptions that come with being max CP?

Pvp Magplar Dps help

I want to start this thread to discuss skills that need to be reworked, either because they are under used or never used.

I would like to start off the thread with a couple of skills that I think need a rework.

Trapping Webs: As it stands, this skill is almost never used now either in PVE or PVP. I think that the synergy and the base skill need to be reversed. Here is my idea.

Trapping Webs: Summon 2 Spiders that attack enemies for [x] Poison Damage every second. The spiders last until killed or unsummoned. An ally can activate the Trapping Webs synergy to hurl strands of spider silk at spider's location reducing the Movement Speed of enemies in the area by 50%.

Morph 1: Shadow Silk: Summon 2 Black Widows that attack enemies for [x] Poison Damage every second plus an additional [y] Poison Damage over 2 seconds. The spiders respawn after 3 seconds when killed. An ally can activate the Trapping Webs synergy to hurl strands of spider silk at a spider's location reducing the Movement Speed of enemies in the area by 50%. (New Effect: Spiders deal more damage and periodically respawn)

Morph 2: Tangling Webs: Summon 2 Spiders that attack enemies for [x] Poison Damage every second. The spiders last until killed or unsummoned. An ally can activate the Tangling Webs synergy to hurl strands of spider silk at a spider's location, immobilising enemies in the area for 3 seconds and snaring them reducing their Movement Speed by 70% for a further 2 seconds. (New Effect: Synergy now immobilises and snares for longer)

Reasons for change: The skill is almost never used. Having the skill perform more as a serious pet skill would see it get more use. Wardens could have a Bear and Spiders, Sorcs could have a strong pet build and the other classes also benefit from having a pet too. Of course it would require both bars in order to be always active on weapon switch to balance it. This in turn would help sets that are rather useless right now, such as Hunt Leader. It would also synergise very well with the Spawn of Mephala set.

Please lend me your thoughts and post your own ideas for underused skills that you feel need a helping hand to make them more used.

VMA: A success story

Warning: Long post incoming.

So last night I finally beat VMA. Like most people who haven't beaten it yet or are completing it for the first time....it was painful, frustrating, and rage inducing. I thought I would come here and share my VMA story as a reminder to those who haven't done it that it can be done, and you don't need to play perfect or have perfect stuff. It just takes the will to not give in.

For starters. I played the "ez mode" class. Pet sorc. It may be easier later on, but it certainly wasn't easy my first time through. Based on a soul gem count I died 113 times on my run.

550 CP. Nothing random. Just spread out amongst the standard things. I'm sure I could min max it but I didn't want to respec. But still, nothing crazy here.

Gear: my gear setup is ok, but not perfect by any means.

5 x necro (4 divines but the chest is infused. These are gold quality with magicka glyphs)

3 x willpower jewelry (arcane)

2 x skoria (medium shoulder / heavy helmet. Shoulder is divines. Helmet is prosperous because :(. These have tri stat enchants because I use them in PVP. These are purple quality.

2 x julianos lightning staves. Sharpened. I didn't have anything else to use so these are random and gold quality and have damage glyphs

So yea...gear isn't exactly blowing anyone away. Lots of room for improvement.

Note: this character is newer so I don't have the undaunted passive for max stats and only 2/3 for the fighters guild ultimate generation vs daedra passive. So room for bonuses there as well.

Abilities:

Back bar: surge, liquid lightning (switched for boundless storm on final boss), wall of elements, both pets

Front bar: wrath (switched for ele drain rounds 7,8,9) , hardened ward, force pulse, both pets

Ultimates: I don't have mages guild passives yet so I just double slotted the destro ult

The Run:

Started out fine. I blew through stages 1-4 with no issue. In fact, I was beginning to have delusions of grandeur. I was buying the hype of "just make a pet sorc and enjoy your flawless."

Stage 5 I took my first few deaths. Nothing too bad. Didn't keep an eye on mages spawning and they pooped on me a few times. Got past it with 3 or so deaths.

Stage 6 I died on the boss a few times. I was so focused on dps'ing the boss I ignored mechanics and wasn't freeing pinions or whatever they are called. After a couple deaths I paid attention and got through it just fine.

Stage 7: The first sign of trouble and the beginning of doubt. I must have died 35 times on the boss. I got through all the waves with no issue. But I was having a very hard time maintaining enough magicka to kill the flower callers quickly. Also I had some bad luck (I think) moments. Flowers would spawn inside the bubble you stand in during the scream phase. Which sucked. I also kept getting exploded by the mages post scream because I was using all my magicka on the boss while he screamed trying to burn him. Lastly I'm an idiot and at least 3 times before realizing what I was doing I would get in the mages bubble and turn on my pet pulse and put down wall of elements....only to not realize I was killing the mage during the scream because the boss was so close.

When my first piece of gear broke I quit. I grabbed an adult beverage, and tried to shake my salt off. I won't go into those details but in short I realized the execute was doing nothing for me in this fight (I couldn't even reach execute phase) so I replaced it with ele drain. After an hour or so I got back on and tried again. Died a few more times but was seeing vast improvements. After maybe the 5th try with ele drain slotted I beat it. I cracked another adult beverage in celebration and went to bed. I couldn't handle anymore that night.

Stage 8: got home from work the following day (yesterday) ready to finish this off. Stage 8 was surprisingly easy. I died once to those fire spinner dudes which quickly taught me who priority number 1 is, and then it was fine.

Stage 9: The highest of highs. The lowest of lows. I got to the boss with 1 death in the waves leading up. A ghost flew into me while a crematorial guard was breathing on me which was basically insta-pooped on. But outside of that, I got to the boss round with minimal issue. I again started to feel good. So of course I was returned to earth.

The first 10 or so deaths I couldn't even get upstairs. I would die when the adds spawned after the first teleport. I started focusing adds then going back to the boss and things got better. I made it upstairs. And got utterly destroyed. I could not keep my stamina up for anything while upstairs. Between dodge rolling and running to get behind his wall, I was getting ripped up. Not sure how many deaths I had or what my blood pressure was at, but at some point I quit again.

I repeated my stage 7 self medicating process and figured if I could sprint less upstairs I'd have the stamina to dodge skulls. I switched out liquid lightning for boundless storm for the movement speed. It wasn't pretty, but after a few more deaths with improvements each time, I passed stage 2 and returned downstairs. Where I was promptly dumpstered by a crematorial guard. Cool.

Feeling better that I at least got past upstairs I shouldered on. A few more deaths but nothing glaringly wrong. Finally it was all going right. The time was upon me. I got to the final phase and had the boss down to about 35 percent when I got my third gold ghost. The moment that had eluded me for so long. I popped the synergy, dropped my ultimate on the boss and proceeded spamming buttons harder than I've ever spammed them before. He came out of the stun around 10 percent or so health. I was utterly out of magicka from the burn and my pot was on cooldown. I held down heavy attack and used all regained magicka for force pulses. I watched as his life drained down to the last precious ticks.....

I'm not sure what his health was at when I died but all future retellings of this story will say he was literally at 1 HP for dramatic effect. Whatever it actually was...maelstrom veterans know what happened to me. I stopped refreshing surge. I stopped shielding myself. I stopped healing with my matriarch. I stopped everything and tunnel visioned on the boss. And I died. While he had 1 HP. My god the disappointment. I'm not sure how long I stared at the screen thinking "huh...that's weird. When you beat the VMA final boss it shows you a death screen. What an odd design choice."

After I came out of shock I restarted and was tilted so bad I was dying to anything that looked at me. After a few of those deaths I took yet another break (this VMA run has been brought to you by Jamesons irish whiskey) and came back ready to conquer. Quite frankly the actual completion had no actual tense moments. I'm assuming when you get good at VMA that's what happens. I just methodically did all mechanics and comfortably killed the final boss. Weird how it works that way.

And so that is my very long VMA story. But I finally beat it. And can't wait to do it again. Maybe I can get it down to 75 deaths this time. Stick at it guys and dolls. It can be beat no matter how bad it's going or how unoptimal your gear and passives are.

The aftermath: I got a charged lightning staff. Which in theory might be pretty good next patch. So....what would have been considered very unlucky as a reward...may mean my very first reward is great. We shall see.

Recently returned too the game and bought morrowind and ive noticed i have 330+ ping consistently now which is kind of annoying. I play from New Zealand but prior i played with 200-250 which didn't really affect me. Nothing has changed since i stopped playing excluding morrowinds release.

Mitigating Mail Delay

So, I see that Zenimax never got rid of that in-game mail delay. Buying items is still a bit of a pain.

So, unless I'm missing something obvious to get rid of the delay, what I'm wondering is...how do you deal with it?

I'm aware that re-logging or re-zoning (such that a loading screen is necessary) will trigger the mail system (and that /reloadui doesn't do it), but anything else? An addon, perhaps? I'm REALLY hoping that Zenimax hasn't left this kludge in place this long without some means of dealing with it. =/
