Two weeks in the States and not a single Tauros >:[ Posted: 10 Jun 2017 11:57 AM PDT I'm from Australia and currently visiting the States for a wedding. If I'm honest it's probably the only time in my life I'll be here and I was stoked for months about getting a Tauros. I've been here for two weeks so far, road tripping from West to East and stopping at many of the popular tourist destinations. I've actually devoted a fair bit of time to walking around with my phone out, more than I had planned on. I've leveled up from 25 to 27, just from hatching and catching. I've made a few new additions to the 'dex and even left Kangaskhans in a few gyms. The one thing I haven't yet done is the one thing I really want to. I haven't caught a Tauros. He'll, I haven't even seen one. Not on the radar, nor in a gym. The 'dex entry remains a mere number for me. I've still got a week here, but at this point I've pretty much given up hope. This is probably more of a rant than anything, just my way of publicly saying 'fuck you Niantic, if you're going to make regional exclusives, at least make them obtainable to visitors.' Edit: because a few people are asking, I've already got most of the major cities for my trip. I'll be passing through Cleveland tomorrow, but not staying overnight, then the rest of my trip will be staying with a friend in West Virginia. Thanks to those offering tips and suggestions :) [link] [comments]

Successfully Changed E-Mail Linked To Account Posted: 10 Jun 2017 04:14 PM PDT This worked for me, but is lengthy, complicated and unless you have a Google/G Suite e-mail address / account it likely won't work. I'm just giving my experience in case someone else is in a similar position and decides they want to change their address for Go. Essentially, a few years ago I created a personalised e-mail address for myself and subsequently created a standard Google Account with it. Recently, I decided to move my e-mail hosting to Google with their G Suite service. In order to have my personalised e-mail address on G Suite they transferred over the address only - none of the account data, could be transferred, leaving that old personal account with a long and complicated 'temporary' e-mail address (this even showed up when I logged into Go and went to Settings). Google then allowed me to assign a new e-mail address for that old personal account (which I did through G Suite so Go has it's own personalised "go@___.com" address for my Go account. So, it is possible to change your e-mail address but only under certain circumstances so I consider myself quite lucky to have been able to do it. If I cancelled G Suite and went elsewhere, I doubt I'd get to transfer it again! [link] [comments]
What is the most frustrating thing that has happened to you while playing Pokemon Go? Posted: 10 Jun 2017 01:31 PM PDT For me it happened last night. I was hiking to an ingress portal to see if it was a gym. This is something I do semi often, but this attempt was the furthest one I have tried to reach. 22 mile hike round trip so I was geared up to camp at the top (it's a mountain peak and had 3000 feet of elevation gain) and hike down the next morning regardless of my success. At about mile 7 I ran into a bear on the trail, and it would not leave. After 30 minutes of waiting for it to disperse I had to turn around and go home with out getting what I needed. Mother nature Pokemon blocked me. What is your most frustrating exp playing? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 02:36 PM PDT Hello everyone, Long time watcher of posts, first time posting. I have seen a few posts here and there asking about the hotels and what not... people already making reservations. My question is this: Isn't anyone concerned the tickets will be sold out thus making waiting til the 19th with tickets 'purchased' to acquire a room a smart decision. Or would you need to look at the hotels cancellation requirements? I know some hotels just require a card on file and you pay upon check in and inquire a charge only if cancelled last minute. When taking the risk pays off... Posted: 10 Jun 2017 10:55 AM PDT So a couple months back, I caught an Ampharos (named her Marie) with 364 CP, 82% IVs, and had Volt Switch - Zap Cannon. Up until then I had two Ampharos, both with Focus Blast, so you can imagine my excitement at having an Ampharos with Zap Cannon. I then made it a goal to walk with/collect candies for Marie until I had enough to power her up to at least 2400 and make her a decent defender, because of the gym rework (also bc Ampharos is just dope af). Fast forward to two weeks ago, I'm going around catching as many Mareep, Flaaffy, and the occasional Ampharos as I can. At this point, Marie was 1006 CP, and I had saved up enough stardust and candies to power her up to a decent CP. This past Thursday, however, I came across a Mareep that was nearly maxed (744 CP) and had amazing IVs (93%). I was a bit torn; should I evolve this Mareep in hopes that I get a beastly Ampharos with Volt Switch - Zap Cannon, or should I play it safe and stick with powering up Marie? I went home, asked my friends and members in the Pokemon Go! Michigan FB group whether or not I should evolve the 93% Mareep, and a majority of them said to take the risk. Hesitantly, I went for it. And... http://imgur.com/BW8ui9z [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 01:46 PM PDT The day the game released, nearly a year ago, I made an account through google. Now every time I go to sign in it says "unable to authenticate..." and its been this way for about 4 months. [link] [comments]
How do people feel about the hotel deals offered in Chicago? Posted: 10 Jun 2017 08:27 AM PDT So I live a short 8 hour drive from Chicago, so I've decided that this event is a perfect excuse to take a three day weekend and see the windy city! There's lots to do alongside Pokémon Go, and a deal on hotels only makes the whole thing sweeter! Right in Downtown no less! That said, it seems to me Niantic chose some fancy AF hotels to partner with! The price is reasonable, but I'm a little embarrassed to admit my favorite part of a hotel is the continental breakfast and indoor pool! These are "charge you for wifi" levels of fancy! Is anyone else taking advantage of this offer? What are your thoughts? [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 08:22 PM PDT We need Mareep, Voltorb, and all the other electric types to join the increased spawns party! [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 07:28 PM PDT For example, say a Dragonite appears. Dragonite is known for its difficulty with hitting "Greats" and "Perfects". However, with the new kit (based what I saw and have heard), one can just walk right up to the Dragonite, and chuck a ball from a few inches away, almost guaranteeing a "Great". My question is, how is Niantic going to deal with an issue that could potentially break the game when it comes to catching these type of Pokemon that are harder to hit the target, or any Pokemon for that reason. Getting excited for Pokémon Go Fest! Posted: 10 Jun 2017 11:12 AM PDT https://imgur.com/gallery/8sjJf I'm a rural player who has sunk waaaaaaay too much time and money into PoGo. I bought a tablet just for the game when it came out. I've made more in-game purchases than I'm proud of. I'm on my second Go Plus (can't find the first one). I travel out of town 1-3 times a month just to play. A friend and I made a 14 hour drive to Florida for the two regionals there. I currently have everything except the three Non-US regionals, Tyranitar (just need three more candies... currently walking a Larvitar and have two 10ks on incubators) and Unown. With the announcement of the first major event being in Chicago, I was THRILLED. It's only about a seven hours drive, but to make it better, the friend I drove to Florida with actually lives just three hours away! This is amazing. (And for those who aren't so frickin' lucky, I do hope that you manage to get an event better suited to your own time and travel availability restrictions! Think of it this way, this first event is bound to be the worst, as Niantic has to work out all the issues on the fly... consider yourselves the lucky ones!) I don't know what to expect from this event. Honestly, I'm hoping for an Unown the most. I figure the Legendaries will always have set event announcements that make them nigh-impossible to miss (assuming you meet the conditions), but Unown is a tricky beast. There could be one right down the block from me right now - the only one that will everspawn in my tiny community, and I'm missing it and I'll never even know I missed it. This is why I've swapped out my tablet's wallpaper - hoping to attract some Lucky Unown spawns. Second hope is regionals. I could probably swing travelling to one of the three regions, but it's unlikely. And there's no way I'll ever get to go to all three. Since trading seems like something that may or may not ever be coming, I'll just cross my fingers that I'll finally be able to fill in that Farfetch'd silhouette from the gym I saw it in. I'm not expecting this, but I can hope. My Third hope is for Legendaries. I don't want one of these to be exclusive to this particular event, but would be okay with them so long as they are made available at plenty of other events or opportunities. The thing I am hoping against is some kind of event-exclusive Pikachu in a hat or such specifically for the Chicago event. While I'd be thrilled that I got one, it would really suck for those who cannot get it and would set the precedent for more event exclusive things at places I simply cannot get to. Of course, I'm hoping for some physical swag (an official Pokémon Go Fest Chicago shirt would be sweet). And I'm really tempted to map out and photograph sweet new spots for Pokéstops in my little town, load 'em to a CD, and make about 300 copies to slip to every single Niantic-looking employee I can find in hopes of getting some updates to my little community. :D So, I know there's a lot of negativity around this event, mostly stemming from the lack of information (both what this event consists of and future plans), but who is legitimately excited about this? Posted: 10 Jun 2017 09:56 AM PDT I ran the Vermont City Marathon playing Pokemon GO. Had a great time and want to see if anyone else has done this. I think I may have set a record for PG Marathon. Someday may be an Olympic sport! [link] [comments]
Posted: 10 Jun 2017 11:18 AM PDT This morning I caught 178 CP Sentret 0,0,1 and 189 CP Marill 0,0,1. In months of grinding, I had only ever caught two others with 0,0,1 (both Geodudes). Apart from stratting, which may or may not exist in the new gyms, are there any quirks of the real Pokemon games that might appear in POGO and make it good to save these guys? Like, powerless monster plus some berry plus walking 5k during the night creates something fabulous? Thanks! [link] [comments]

Idea for legendary Pokémon release Posted: 10 Jun 2017 04:01 PM PDT Optimistically hoping that when the gyms are disabled they will be replaced by potential legendary Pokémon spawn points. Because these Pokémon are so powerful and rare you would have to battle them with multiple other people to weaken them enough to be caught. Much like how multiple people can team up against a gym currently. This would be the fairest way to release legendaries as it would not leave out people who are unable to travel to event sites.
