Game mode idea: Scuttle Royale

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 09:40 AM PDT

Everyone's a scuttle crab, in 2 teams, on summoners rift. And there are the honeyplants kind of rotating around the map like kindred marks and little scuttlers have to use their scuttle dash and a move speed buff in the river (?), to gather a number of the berries which transforms them into a rift herald, which has access to its damaging spells (like the purple powersmash and the tower charge).

Heralds could then be able to cc scuttlers, but the scuttlers should have a mobility advantage so they could just about dodge the big collosus-esque attacks of the herald, the main objective for the heralds though is pushing down towers for the nexus and fighting with other herald players as well (imagine two rift heralds dashing into each other and bashing each other about lul).

When a herald takes sufficient damage, the player returns to crab form and cannot attack towers. Potentially may have to add some sort of mini scuttle attack so scuttlers could fight it out for berries and take down heralds by hitting them in the eye, maybe the scuttlers could collect blast cone berries and then fire them like a ziggs Q? Which knocks back scuttlers and heralds, but only deals actual damage to the heralds eye. Maybe the blue vision berries could do something too but idk

This could also be done on a swampy themed ascension map, where the berries are scattered around, but there's a massive one in the middle, and rift heralds can pick it up and move it towards its allied spawn point, whilst it's allied scuttlers cc back other scuttlers which are trying to get the herald to drop the berry.

Probably would be kinda boring, I just watched the scuttle crab dashing around the map after it got moved from the river by tahm and for some reason watching the little scuttleboye dashing around and nibbling on berries filled me with an insatiable desire to be one.

I took my family to watch the EU LCS live this weekend!

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 07:56 AM PDT

Hey all!

So this weekend, having watched countless hours of League of Legends on Twitch, I took the opportunity to take my partner & our 11 month old son to visit the EU LCS studios to catch the games live... having spoken to Riot staff before hand, they had mentioned that due to how loud it can get, it may not be the best place for my son and I can 100% see where they were coming from but what happened was actually 10x more amazing than I could of ever wished for.

So as a gamer, I watch a lot of streams etc and it has become quite the family thing to do, stuff like Counter-Strike doesn't suit my son but League of Legends, I think because of the noises and colours he absolutely loves, a long with World of Warcraft...

So we set off on Saturday with me half expecting to have to come home after one game due to my son not enjoying it due to the loud noises and seeing so many new people...well it ended up being the best decision ever and one I think we will repeat in the future!

To start with the staff at the studio were really helpful, keeping our belongings safe and helping us get sorted. We took our seats for the fnatic vs MM game and as you can imagine the crowd starts to heat up, the clapping and cheers echo around, at this point my son did grab onto me a little bit but it died down after that, I was honestly thinking damn, what have I done, he isn't going to like this, what was I thinking??

We were a few minutes into game one and after focusing on the screen and watching the game unfold, he started to settle in and do exactly what he does at home while watching it, babbling away, making little noises... proud dad moment number one.

So we get further into the game and as the early kills start taking place, everyone is clapping and my son starts trying to join in, clapping his hands on top of ours with the crowd and him smiling away, proud dad moment number two.

When we got into the NiP vs H2K game, he had actually fallen asleep at the start, maybe because he knew how NiP had performed so far but he did wake back up and get into it for game 2.

We took a bunch of photos and I thought I would share it with everyone here, was an awesome day, really welcoming from the Riot team and just an overall enjoyable experience for the whole family: Gallery from the family trip to the EU LCS

It may not be the most conventional family event but it was one we all enjoyed, my son got himself a Poro and I am sure we will be back for more LCS action!

My question to the community is, has anyone else taken their children? :D

TLDR;

I took my family including my 11 month old son to watch an EU LCS game and it was an awesome experience, pictures here: Gallery from the family trip to the EU LCS

Rekkles is the player with the highest KDA and lowest D/G across all major regions in the Summer Split

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:31 AM PDT

19.1 KDA (8.5 more than the second place) and just 0.6 deaths per game. Ah, and he got the best CSPM too.

In the other hand, he is one of the ADC's with lowest DPM and KP%, which shows how unique his play-style and champ pool is, with he preferring his splitpushing Kennen, and optimizing for utility while Caps has the job to do the dmg - which he is more than able to, considering he has the 2nd highest DPM, only behind Froggen.

Even if much more analysis is required (which I am not able to do), it is nonetheless very interesting to show with a couple of metrics how unique this Fnatic team is, and how they were able to develop their own play-style and be successful with it.

How much extra gold would a Bronze 5 player have to start out with in order to climb to Challenger?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 07:12 AM PDT

As in, instead of 500 G, the guy starts with 1000G every game.
EDIT
For clarification. If a Bronze 5 player started with 2k gold every game as opposed to 500, he'd obviously have a huge advantage. With a 1.5k gold advantage to start out with every game, would said Bronze 5 player be able to climb to Challenger if given the extra 1.5k at the start of every game?

Fiora, scaling better than anyone late game should have an absolute terrible laning phase.

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:11 AM PDT

Right now she has the scaling of kogmaw (Better) but the laning phase of a draven. Doesnt make sense that you automatically lose if it goes past a certain point since this champion can 100-0 tanks under towers. This champion should be getting absolutely dumpstered in lane by every god damn champion in the game if she is going to be that retarded late game. Edit: Those who are asking yes i just got dumpstered by one. 1v9

Is there any chance that SKT Nami splash art is going to be changed?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:35 AM PDT

This skin is awesome in game, I just love it. However, her solo splash art detalization and her own position is not just awkward, it's beyond that for me. I wonder how much time will pass before we get some fancy photoshopped versions of that splash art to represent the rule 34.

If you are trying to learn/improve how to jungle, I made a video to help you learn all the basic jungle routes in Season 7 (Full Script and Timestamps included)

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 09:25 AM PDT

Hello /r/leagueoflegends!

In an effort to help people learn all about this fantastic game, I have made a video for those that wish to learn/improve on the jungle role.

In this video, I go over all the different jungle routes you can take for your initial clear in Season 7. These are basic jungle routes and I recommend them if you are learning the jungle role in general.

Here is the video: Jungle Routes for Season 7 League of Legends [Guide][Jungle][Beginner]

For those of you who are in a place that cannot open Youtube at the current time, I have ALSO posted the script for the video here (and in the description): https://pastebin.com/raw/XAiBrE9y

And for those of you that can watch the video but wish to revisit certain parts, there are timestamps in the description so you can skip to the parts that you need to.

If you have any questions or have suggestions for future videos, please let me know!

My goal is to produce these Guide videos every week or so (hopefully!) so that anyone, both new and seasonal can improve at this game (maybe get some coaching/VOD review videos in between). The next video I make in this series will explain when and why to pick each route over another, which I hope doesn't take as long to make as it did to make this one, haha. (additionally I have plan to go over the more advanced jungle routes for higher elo players)

Also if you have any criticism on the video itself, please let me know (as I am still learning new things about video and image editing software).

How much extra gold would a pro team outside Kr have to start out with in order to beat SKT or win Worlds?

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 11:52 AM PDT

As in, instead of 500 G, they starts with 1000G every game.

EDIT

For clarification. If every player in team started with 2k gold every game as opposed to 500, it'd obviously have a huge advantage. With a 7.5k gold advantage to start out with every game, would said GPL or EU team be able to win Worlds if given the extra 1.5k per player at the start of every game?

Interesting facts about nationalities in LCS: There are more Danish mid laners in NA LCS than there are in EU LCS. And more

Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:36 AM PDT

3 in NA (Bjergsen, Froggen and Jensen) while EU has only 2 (Caps and Sencux) Here's a few other facts:

EU LCS has mid laners from 7 different countries - Denmark (2), Netherlands(2), Germany(2), Croatia, Korea, Sweden, Norway.

In EU LCS the support position is the one with most imports at 4, after that is top at 3, every other position has 1 import.

FlyQuest is the most North american team in NA LCS with 0 players outside of NA. They are also one of 2 teams in NA LCS without Korean imports the other being TSM.

The mid lane position in NA LCS is occupied by players from 3 different countries: Korea(4), Denmark(3), USA(3).
