These new "Heavy Attack Builds" in Morrowind are a conspiracy

Posted: 24 Jun 2017 08:05 AM PDT

brought about by the Soul Gem companies to get us to have to use them to charge our weapons more. If you haven't already bought your Soul Gem stock then you're SOL. This is just another example of how the rich get richer and the poor stay poor.

Beginners Guide to the PvE Magesorc

Posted: 24 Jun 2017 08:12 PM PDT

Hey all,

Recently I decided to make a Magesorc for an alt. While researching on how to build him I realized a few things. Being one of the most popular builds in ESO currently, it's almost overwhelming when looking up guides. There are just so many great guides out there. However, most of these guides are all focused on end game. The popular written guides are hard to follow for new players that don't fully understand the class already. Lastly, most information is stuck somewhere in the middle of a 20 plus minute video that bores you to death before you get to the information you're looking for. While a lot of this information is great and will be very helpful down the road, I didn't see it helping the day one newcomer or even someone new to the class. So with all that being said, I decided to try to simplify things for the new player. I put together a guide of all the information I learned and tried to make it very easy to follow. I wanted it to be as easy as possible to maximize the use of your early skill points. What you will find is a list of the commonly used abilities in a easy to read format. I would love feedback on this. I really enjoyed putting this together and would love to make more if you find it helpful.

Thank you

20k dps

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 03:54 AM PDT

Joined a new guild that requires folks to have 20k DPS on the target skeleton to play trials in vet.. I play a magic sorcerer so I thought it be ok. Well I couldn't do more than 15k with netch touch and juiliano staff..will power jewelry. I was told that I needed gold weapons/items. Spent all my money on gold staff and I made 3 pieces of armor gold. It added 1k DPS. most in the guild couldn't get to 20k either. Very frustrated. Feel like this animation cancel..light weaving stuff is just exposing this game as an action game/twitch vs an mmo.i had a great time in the game leveling but end game for me sucks. I know I'll get comments that I suck..yada yada yada. But that's ok.

[PC] Steam & TESO

Posted: 25 Jun 2017 03:15 AM PDT

Anyone have an idea on how to start up the game through Steam using Steams version and get from Big Picture Mode > Launcher > Character Screen > In-Game all with a controller?

I am able to use my joystick on my Xbox One controller to start the game from the launcher but when the game starts the joystick and cursor become frozen unless I decide to use my mouse to click the necessary buttons to get in-game.

P.S. Once I am in game the controller works fine!

[Discussion] Stamina builds have a slight disadvantage it seems.

Posted: 24 Jun 2017 05:12 PM PDT

I have about 50-ish hours into the game right now but I have noticed something about my play style and the fact that I play solo. I have one character, a khajiit nightblade and I decided about 15 hours into this character that I was going to build him into a stamblade but I noticed one problem with the build. Stamina is used for everything. Each time I run around a dungeon or through and area if I encounter an unexpected enemy or if I anger them accidentally I am low on stamina and will have a more difficult time fighting the enemy in question but from talking to people who play magicka classes (one dragonknight friend and one nightblade) they don't have anything that will drain their resources other than their abilities it seems. Blocking also uses stamina and so does freeing your character from CC meaning that in a fight a magicka character will have the ability to block and break CC while still maintaining their magicka pool and even allowing for their magicka to regen. I know that both spriting and blocking in real life (or logically) would be seen as a stamina draining feat but it seems like stamina build have so much relying on one pool whereas magicka builds have the ability to be able to have one pool for abilities and the like and still keep their stamina pool for breaking CC and blocking. (I know that playstyles commonly use one or two abilities from the other pools but that can be said for both sides, magicka and stamina.)

Since the above is badly worded I will give and example: Stamina character and magicka character decide to take on the same worldboss separately.

Magcika character has 10,000 magicka and 2,000 stamina stamina character has 2,000 magicka and 10,000 stamina (these are for the sake of an example the real values wouldnt be anywhere near this)

They both use an ability from their respective pools costing 2000 to cast. meaning magicka character has 8,000 magicka remaining and 2,000 stamina and stamina character has 8,000 stamina remaining and 2,000 magicka. At this point both characters are stunned. The magicka character can break free for 1,000 stamina and still have his entire remaining magicka pool + any regen occurring during the stun leaving him at 1,000 stamina and ~8,500 magicka. The stamina character does the same but since it comes from his stamina pool he only has 7,000 stamina left and 2,000 magicka. The magicka may be useless to his build at this time (e.g. he may have it on another bar which he cant use during this fight or he may have his magicka ability as his finisher like executioners blade).

I don't know if this is actually the situation but it seems like stamina is used for all of combat but magicka is only used for abilities. Does this have any balancing?

Please be respectful that I have only 50 hours into the game and ESO is my first proper MMO.

EDIT: Added "Does this have any balancing?"

A Timeline Question

Posted: 24 Jun 2017 07:50 PM PDT

i understand the basic timeline of the elder scrolls, primarily the time in which each game is placed, but was wondering how ZOS was implementing the timeline into ESO.

Am I correct in thinking that the events of Morrowind are years after the destruction of Molag Bal's terror at the end of Varen's life?

ZOS doesn't make it obvious how time passes since the game is an mmorpg, I'm curious if the timeline in the game is moving forward though each DLC and if that means we could ever see the rise of Tiber Septim aka the Talos the ninth devine.

This would be dope af for an expansion

Least/most played races?

What's the race popularity currently like? I'm guessing Elves are at the top while Orcs, Redguards, and Argonians are the least?

Honestly I wish the quest would've ended differently. It's obvious to me she's gonna be just as evil as the other magisters. And the way she left eoki.... It was always about just advancing. He never really mattered.

Does this game still have an active playerbase?

Posted: 24 Jun 2017 07:22 PM PDT

Hi, I've been getting a MMO bug for a while after getting bored with some FPS and MOBAs. I've played WoW for 10 years and while I love that game, I'm looking for something new and fresh to bring me back to MMOs. Is this game still doing well? I know it had a rough start, but I've heard the devs really turned it around. Also is it cross-platform with PC/Consoles? Thanks for reading.
