I think this side quest is the prime example of my favorite thing about Fallout 4.

-Makes you question your morals -Makes you face difficult situations -Gives you multiple decisions to determine how the mission ends

And the voice acting at the end is absolutely amazing.

Just finished up some fan art for my favorite game!

Posted: 07 May 2017 05:23 AM PDT

Bethesda gives you all rights to the Fallout franchise, and it's your job to create the next Fallout title (NV2/FO5/a new spinoff) What's its story?

Posted: 07 May 2017 12:03 AM PDT

For me, I honestly don't know. I just want to hear what other Fallout fans would do in this situation.

Edit: read through all of them, I really like your guys' ideas! Maybe some Redditers should work on the next Fallout, eh? ;p

Updates on the frontier

Posted: 07 May 2017 02:39 AM PDT

Hi, it's me, tgspy.

So frontier updates have been pretty quiet as of late and that's because we recently switched to a new method of working which enables us to work at a much more efficient rate than the previous system, where everyone worked on whatever they liked.

So for updates, currently were in the process of absolutely completing all of our 50+ creatures. Obviously this is quite a gargantuan task, but thankfully me hopper mind boggles and Weijiesen are powering through them all. I'll upload some images to nexus of the newly updated creatures soon.

As to recruitment, were always looking for new aspiring mod makers and quest creators. Do you have opposable thumbs and a good knowledge of the geck? You might be worthy to work at the frontier! If you're Interested, message me on discord or shoot me an email at tgspy312@gmail.com . Having previous work makes it much easier to get into the team, however if you don't have any, we can assign you some tasks and see how you go. We aren't taking any writers at this point.

That's all for now :)

Al Capone build suggestions

I want to make a character that resembles Al Capone. Charisma is obviously a must, but what other traits should he have?

Fallout 4 Survival Saltiness

Posted: 07 May 2017 12:48 PM PDT

So, today I was playing on Survival mode, and I get to the wreck of the U.S.S. Riptide.

Keep in mind, I'm a level 21, and I have 5 endurance (220 or so HP), and I have around 60 ballistic damage resistance.

The Raider in Power Armor was followed by a Raider Scum. I take out the Power Armor guy pretty easily, but I'm out of AP. I have roughly 75% HP. Before I can melee the Raider Scum, he gun bashes me, and somehow puts me in the gun bash kill animation.

When he was done, I still had 1/3 of my HP, but I just die. What. The. Hell. Needless to say I was quite a bit salty. Lol

So what was the point of the Institute making synths?

Posted: 07 May 2017 01:24 PM PDT

A while back when I beat Fallout 4, I was wondering why Shaun and the previous leader of the Institute wanted to make synthetic humans. To me, it honestly doesn't make sense. My friends told me that the Institute wanted to make new humans to prevent extinction, but why do that when you can put all of your scientific research into developing technology that could terraform the irradiated wasteland into a lush, radiation-free enviornment? This would save the earth and its inhabitants. That technology clearly exists, like the FEV vat that transformed Harold and Project Purity. So what's the deal?

edit: Ty guys for the answers! I was under the impression that the Institute were good guys, and wanted to help humanity haha

Fallout 4 Externally Downloaded mods not showing up in-game

Posted: 07 May 2017 11:26 AM PDT

So I recently tried to install some mods off of the Nexus, mods that were not available through the in-game mods. Now whenever I've donwloaded them and chucked them into my data folder they still do not show up. Anyone know how to resolve this issue? I have also edited the .ini files to enable mods

Edit: The issue has been resolved, this stupid OP here didnt realise he had to enable the mods in the load order.

Does FONV Tale of Two Wastelands also contain all the FO3 xpacs?

Posted: 07 May 2017 08:50 AM PDT

I have a theory about the next Fallout game.

Posted: 07 May 2017 09:44 AM PDT

Fallout was released in 1997. It revolved around someone who came from a Vault. We'll call this kind of backstory 1.

Fallout 2 was released in 1998. It revolved around someone who did not come from a vault. We'll call this kind of backstory 2.

Fallout Tactics: BoS and Fallout: BoS are either non-canon or semi-canon, so they aren't entirely relevant, but we'll label their backstory 3 anyway.

Fallout 3 was released in 2008. It is backstory 1.

Fallout: New Vegas was released in 2010. It is backstory 2.

Fallout 4 was released in 2015. It is backstory 1, despite being slightly different. It also could be backstory 3, because the protagonist isn't born in the vault, but rather frozen pre-war and woken up in The Wasteland. However, this protagonist still comes from a vault.

Are you seeing the pattern? 1, 2, 1, 2, 1? Or 1, 2, 3, 1, 2, 3?

If what I theorize is true, the Fallout 5/ Fallout: [Insert City Here] protagonist would either not come from a vault, like backstory 2, or the protagonist would be born in a vault (backstory 1) like the protagonists in Fallout and Fallout 3.

Honestly, both of these backstories are very appealing to me. I am more in favor of backstory 2, I think it allows more creativity as to where the protagonist comes from or what their job is, and it sounds more probable than not. However, it would still be interesting to have another like backstory 1.

Of course, it is quite early to be assuming something like this might happen, and afaik, nobody else has really mentioned this pattern. It's just fun to put more thought into what the next Fallout game will look like. Thanks for reading!

Pip Boy Edition Value

Posted: 07 May 2017 09:29 AM PDT

Hey, I was wondering -- for those of you who have more of a grasp on how the gaming market responds to Limited Editions' values as time goes on:

Do you think the Pip Boy Edition will garner much value in years to come? I have it brand new, as when I bought it I anticipated that I may sell it, but I think Bethesda really upped prouction to meet demand (well in excess of 10,000), meaning the product has been quite devalued. Will time change that? Should I shift this now for the market price at the moment (about €200). Thanks

Does playing with Mods take away from the game?

Posted: 07 May 2017 03:40 PM PDT

This mostly applies to cheat rooms and such i personally find it more fun to just have godmode and any weapon I want and an op companion even though it does get boring after awhile but playing the main quest with cheats is fun as hell I must say.

[Help] All my items shift up

Posted: 07 May 2017 02:56 PM PDT

Whenever I open a container in FNV, all of the items shift upwards making it impossible to take anything without using the take all feature. Also, when they shift up, I'm not able to assess the menu until a minute or two after it happens. Is there any mod or something to fix this?

Edit: and after playing for a bit, I found out that event boxes or whatever they're called are affected by this too. I had to completely exit the game by using the task manager.
