| Convention of Elements is the worst item in the game. Posted: 21 May 2017 11:47 PM PDT It promotes a game play where for 12 seconds of the game you don't do anything. You run around, making sure that you survive and that you don't cast your spells/skills so that they are not on cooldown when the 4 seconds come in which you can must cast all your skills to do your damage. Do you know what casting skills is called? PLAYING THE GAME. I'm sorry for yelling, I'm very frustrated with many of the developers decisions but for me this one takes the cake. Convention of Elements came to be as an alternative to Stone of Jordan. You see Stone of Jordan was seen by, well everybody, as a very boring item that provides such a damage boost that it was seen as a must play. What is the developers solution to this problem? An item that is far more boring since it promotes that you do not actually play the game for 3/4 of the time. The biggest problem is just how powerful it is; To a point where you feel like you are forced to play it and there you are, casting your skills with almost no damage most of the time, feeling frustrated and then finding that "oh wait, my skills are on cooldown now that the element of my build has come up, ups, I guess I'll wait for 16 more seconds to be able to do anything" or, you can have the joy of just running around, not doing anything but trying to survive because it's not your time to play the game.
Yes I am frustrated. Yes I am angry. Diablo 3 was in development for 7 years and it has been 5 years since it is out. 12 years should be enough time to make a game that is fun to play. Many of you remember the state that it came out in, so I won't say that progress has not been made, but it sure seems like it has stopped. And there is so much more to be angry and frustrated about. So why am I writing this? Because I love the game. I have spent a stupid amount of time playing D3 and I will most probably keep on playing it, but something has got to happen to make this game fun again. Things like Convention of Elements and Set Dungeons are just not fun. I won't go into Set Dungeons so that we stay on point and topic. Games are suppose to be fun and somewhere along the way when the developers were brainstorming for things that are new and unusual they forgot to ask themselves if those things are fun.
Please remove or rework Convention of Elements, sooner rather then later, not an year from now, that is very much too late, do it while there are still people who enjoy the game. Thank you for reading. Try to forgive my anger, I would not shout if I did not care. EDIT: I agree with what a lot of people have stated, don't remove or rework Convention of Elements. There are people who actually enjoy that play style. These people are clearly mad, but they too should enjoy Diablo 3, but I digress. Instead we need items in the ring slot that can be placed in the Kanai Cube, that are of a similar power level to CoE but different play style. Preferably a play style that does not cause 80% of us, judging by the response on this thread, to be bored and frustrated. [link] [comments] | ||
| HC death rage! A warning to the hordes of people that will potentially have the same problem :) Posted: 22 May 2017 02:39 PM PDT So when seasons just came out, I had a lot of fun with my HC WD, he got some cool loot including a 200dps from max SMK and I had an original fun build based on freezing things. Anyways, fast forward to today, I figure I'll try and tweak things abit and unlock GR70 for HC, so I can get Primal Ancients. I have to struggle through the campaign though, since for some reason seasonal hc play can get you into adventure mode, but once that character got transfered to normal HC I had to finish the campaign before being allowed in adventure mode. So I suffer through some random acts on T6, turn it up to T7 to get a challenge; but then I decide to switch it up and get an updated build - since I'm kinda gunning for GR70 in the end, and I have alot of random stuff laying around. I finish act 2, go to my stash and start sorting through my items. After abit of alt-tab'ing I grab a bunch of random things into my inventory and go switch out my jewelry (unsocketing). I go back to my stash and alt-tab for another detailed pass. I go back, and see this: Lesson is: Don't afk on hc - not even once :) [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 22 May 2017 05:44 PM PDT Started the game a week ago and didn't read anything about it. I played PoE for about a year a when it came out and recently played HoTS which introduced me to Diablo characters. They seemed interesting and I haven't played a dungeon crawler in awhile. I'm loving it! I have it on Expert and will bump up to Torment at lvl 60 (I'm 56). Hopefully it gets more difficult.. I've looked at Torment percentages and that should make it challenging. I know people say the game doesn't start till level 70, but that seems silly because I've played for quite a few hours already. All this build up to boss fights and.... They die in 5 seconds! Anyways! Today I'm bored at work and reading about all the controversy around this games release. I watched a Kripp video saying the D1 level inside of D3 is just a "Rift". Just a dungeon? Or like a side-area without benefits? I like your game and am happy I wasn't apparently spoiled by D2. One more thing. I'm playing Demon-Hunter and wondering if there's some sort of class switching mechanic towards the end of the game or do you start a new character from scratch? [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 22 May 2017 05:00 PM PDT I bought Diablo 2 and its expansion, Lord of Destruction. I have packed enough food and water for a few days, and I'm hoping I can rely on my scavenging and the kindness of strangers to provide more along the way. Wish me luck on my adventure to save everyone from the evil Diablo. (I'm not really leaving, I just know I'm gonna be playing this for a looooong time. At least until the Necromancer is released) [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 22 May 2017 11:46 AM PDT Can I drop a HC Seasonal character down to seasonal somehow to play with some new friends? I never needed to in the past and I'd like to not have to relevel without a gem. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 22 May 2017 02:51 PM PDT Greetings, As of late i started considering getting Diablo 3. Saw lots of talk about the upcoming hero/class etc and thought that it might be a good point to get the game. I'm a long time player of Blizzard Games (mostly Warcraft) I thought to myself. "Since i like grinding and apperantly a lot of changes to WoW in the latest expansion seem to be heavly inspired from Diablo (gearing , RNG and grind) a change of gameplay would just spice up my gametime" I heard from people that the Diablo story in general is good and the transmog sets and looks are good as well. But can you guys talk to me more about the game. The Goods and bads of the game. there are 7 or 8? classes in the game how do they play? Can you recommend videos about the basics of the game etc. Just to see what are people's opinion on the game before i dive into it. [link] [comments] | ||
| New player looking for some basic helperino Posted: 22 May 2017 02:18 PM PDT Okay so I've owned diablo 3 forever but I never got around to playing it. Recently I've been bored and started up playing on a DH. I'm like level 45 ATM. Ive looked up how to level fast and some other stuff so I'm planning on leveling to 70 tonight in adventure mode. So what I'm wondering is, what kinds of things should I know? I've heard of things like level 70 and 90 some type of dungeon with a leaderboard. And some other level thing I think it started with a P. And how should I go about gearing up once I hit 70? I'm basically a total noob looking for any kind of info to get me to a competitive level asap. Thanks! Edit: the 'p word' I was thinking of just came to me, it was paragon, what the ef is that? | Bounties and the horadric cache materials. Posted: 22 May 2017 08:57 AM PDT Sometimes I don't want to do the entire bounty... sometimes I'm farming for something else and happen to complete one along the way. Sometimes I only need a single mat! I wish they would drop 1 mat per completed bounty and have the cache contain the extras based on Torment level. [link] [comments] | ||

| Problems downloading DiabloII and LoD Posted: 22 May 2017 03:49 AM PDT I can download the exe, but when I run it I get a popup that says there's nothing to download. Any ideas on what may be causing this? [link] [comments] | ||
| My progress in the story has been reset Posted: 22 May 2017 01:41 AM PDT After playing all through the Act I as a demo account, I decided to buy the Diablo 3: Battle Chest version. Everything is cool, but all the progress i've done IN THE STORY is lost, and seems like I have to do all the Act I again. Is this true, or is it a problem? The weirdest thing is that my character remains the same, level 11 with all the unlocks. [link] [comments] |
