Painted another thing. Oil on canvas.

Whenever I hear the song of Ragnar the Red, this one starts in my head every time as well.

Had a nice Skyrim evening yesterday. One of these times were you twerk the land, clear out four caves and three bandit hideouts and finally stand in the middle of nowhere and ask yourself "what was the quest again?"

*Knock Knock* "Who's there?"

Man, Mario has really changed since I last played it.

Something tells me Lydia isn't the kind of girl that enjoys watching a sunset.

Has anyone else ever had a guard say "blessings be with you"?

Posted: 29 Apr 2017 11:18 PM PDT

I know I sound insane, but uh

I sneezed IRL and a Solitude guard immediately said "blessings be with you." I thought it was a hilarious coincidence and then I realized I've been playing for four months and never heard that before. So I Googled it to see what would cause him to say that unprompted...and it's not listed in the guard dialogue wiki. I've never played with mods.

So have I officially snapped a twig or has anyone had a guard say this before?

Any awesome new Skyrim mods in the last 1-2 year?

Posted: 30 Apr 2017 04:43 AM PDT

I'm thinking about starting another Skyrim run. Last time was about 2 years ago with around 80 mods.

I haven't been keeping track since. Have there been any awesome new mods come out recently?

Ever watched a GamerPoets modding video and found it helpful? Please consider donating this weekend (x-post from /r/skyrimmods)

x-post from /r/skyrimmods

Typically I ask for your firstborns, but there is a way without the bloodshed.

This weekend in particular, I want to ask you to please consider donating to GamerPoets via PayPal or become a Patreon if any of the in-depth tutorial videos helped you in your modding efforts.

Everyone of us (including Jimmy) must have watched at least one of the helpful tutorial videos from GamerPoets in their modding endeavors.

You may wonder why this weekend is so special? Michael from Gamerpoets told me that there is "a dedicated viewer of mine is matching $50 donations (also donating $50 for every new $25 pledged to GamerPoets on patreon). He is only doing this today and tomorrow. So by midnight tomorrow night this opportunity for me is over. He's already donated $100 today (and he pledges $50 to me monthly)."

"He will match up to $1,000. He said that he appreciated all the time that I put into the community, which is his hobby, and wants to give back."

If you ask me, that is just the right kind of niceness and collaboration this community can use a bit more of.

How I'd like to start Skyrim

Posted: 30 Apr 2017 06:55 AM PDT

I know there's alternate start mods, but we all know, you're not really 'fully released' into the world of Skyrim until we are introduced to Lydia after the first dragon battle. Until that point, there's so much crap you have to do, so starting a new character can take... what.. 30 minutes? an hour? before you're in that position to do what you plan to do with this character.

I'm not sure if there's a mod out there that does this; But for me, the perfect alternate start goes as follows:

  • Wake up in the cart and continue to the character customisation screen as normal
  • When they're beheading the first guy, it should black out when the axe lands
  • All black screen, dream like audio of dialogue, so squeezed together, overlapping etc.

    "What is that?"

    The roaring of the dragon

Sounds of panic in the town

Ralof and Hadvar offering the choice but not known as to which one (Few issues there)

Snippets of Balgruuf, Irileth and Farengar convo's

"You shouldn't have come here" bandit dialogue

    Arvel the swift

The sound of the first word wall

    The next dragon fight

    "He's dragonborn"

Finally, "I'm sworn to carry your burdens"

and you wake up in the Bannered Mare the next morning. Ready to go...

Let's face it, all that stuff, it's all nearly like for like replay when you start a new character.

TIL the car explosion sound effect in Fallout 4 is the same sound effect as the Destruction spell Fireball in Skyrim.
