People say Junkrat and McCree need buffs right? Well here's my suggestion. Posted: 28 Apr 2017 10:47 AM PDT Okay, so recently the community has been saying that Junkrat and McCree aren't too great. "Why pick McCree when you can pick soldier", "High Noon sucks", "Junkrat is trash" etc etc. So how do Blizzard fix this? Well the solution is easy. Junkrat and McCree are arguably both outdone by Phara and Soldier. Phara fires rockets that blow people up, and soldier clicks on people and kills them. These roles are taken. But there's a gap. We need a character that can click on people and blow them up. McRat Now I know what you're thinking, but hear me out. All Blizz has to do is remove Junkrat and McCree, and replace them with a new character that combines both. It's not like either of them are important in the lore, and no one writes any good fanfics about them. So what and who is McRat? Well he's from New Zealand (since thats halfway between Australia and America), and he looks mostly like McCree except if he was homeless (but hes clean shaven). Now that we know who he is, lets look through his abilities:
Can move full speed while crouching. This allows him to fit in small spaces like a dog cage or a tire.
The Lawbreaker is a big kinda six shooter except the bullets are grenades and its hitscan. This addresses the gap in the meta since we don't have any hitscan characters that make explosions. It fires six shots in a clip and does 120 on a direct (for consistency).
Basically its McCree's roll and Junkrats mine in one. When you roll, you explode and fly across the map. This lets McRat dual with Phara and also flank.
Since trap and flashbang are the same ability really this is basically the ultimate version. McRat throws a flashbang and then six traps fly out of it in a small radius.
Since Junkrat and McCree ults both suck we can just combine them for a good ult. This ult is the same as high noon except when you get a full lock on the target explodes right away. It lasts for 8 seconds (same as old Genji ult).
He has 200hp and default move speed. McRat is honestly what the game needs right now as he works as a counter to every hero, meaning there will never be OP heroes since we can just play McRat He also appeals to the fanfiction crowd since he can speak every language (just like everyone from New Zealand). His popularity would mean Blizz could finally drop the other Overwatch characters and make a real game about McRat. Thanks for reading hopefully we see McRat in the game by around Summer this year. Edit: Thanks for the support guys Jeff if you wanna pm me or whatever we can get this done [link] [comments]

This guy I played with yesterday was REALLY devoted to the characters he played... Posted: 28 Apr 2017 08:24 AM PDT **EDIT** I found him! He is more than okay with sharing his Battletag and also asked you guys to check out his brother's Youtube Channel that they play together on a lot! Greycoat#11556 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCYYADZG2sMJm8fbmxpf7V_A TL;DR Guy in comp yesterday spoke in the voice of literally every hero he played and didn't break character once. I don't know if you're allowed to post stuff like this, but this was too golden not to share. I am beating myself up constantly for not recording this when it was happening. Yesterday I solo queued for a comp match. As usual, everyone getting on their mics saying what's up and stuff. This one guy picks Roadhog and then he says, "Hey guys." in a really raspy, deep voice. Someone else asks him "Are you okay?" and he.. snorts. Like Roadhog. He is snorting like a pig. So we play for awhile, this dude is doing call outs like normal and being a totally normal, awesome teammate but he's DOING IT IN ROADHOG'S VOICE. I figured this guy either just really likes Roadhog or does Overwatch RP or something. After awhile, our comp isn't working out so he switches to Soldier. HE STARTS TALKING IN SOLDIER'S VOICE. Honestly, I was impressed because he actually did a pretty good job at impersonating their voices. It was also highly amusing. He then switched to Lucio and didn't say anything for several minutes. I wonder if it was because he didn't know how to impersonate Lucio's voice. We started kicking ass and out of nowhere he said, "Man, I don't normally play Lucio when I do I kick ass!" And holy fucking shit would you know it, he sounds EXACTLY LIKE LUCIO. I was losing my shit at this point and laughing so much I could barely focus on the game. He was awesome though and we ended up winning. I just found this highly amusing and wanted to share. If the guy I'm talking about reads this, dude, you're awesome and you made my night. Never stop doing that, ever. It's great. [link] [comments]
Blizzard, please make "no skirmishes" mean NO skirmishes or fix your "Waiting" algorithms. Posted: 28 Apr 2017 12:08 PM PDT After like, what a year? Over a year? How long has this game been out, skirmishes are nothing but annoying little 30 second hope bombs. Seriously make "no skirmishes" mean NO skirmishes ever or fix the "waiting" algorithms so that it won't put you in one that's going to last between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. The maps aren't even small enough to SEE people in that time. [link] [comments]

All aboard the hype train for a space/underwater map! Choo choo! Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:38 AM PDT As we've all been talking about what the next maps could be, I wanted to remind everyone about this thread by /u/xArDDe and this thread by /u/ethanciavo which contain very interesting audio files that they datamined from PTRs in July 2016. Most of the files there are things we'd now recognize: Sombra stuff, Ana stuff, Eichenwalde stuff, Summer Games stuff, probably Junkenstein, etc. But some of them are quite interesting and (to my knowledge) not yet known to be in the game. Those are the interesting ones. So I went through the threads I linked above, and these remaining sounds indisputably* mean that we're DEFINITELY GETTING A SPACE OR UNDERWATER MAP: Space/underwater sounds
Space sounds
Monsters(genetically enhanced gorillas, perchance?)
Miscellaneous
QED. Choo choo. * I see you over there trying to dispute it. Don't do it. I said "indisputably." Stop. Edit: Hey, I see the gaming news has posted some articles from this thread. Famous YouTubers, if you want to make a video out of this post, I'd love it if you'd give me credit for pulling this all together: youtube.com/sarahwatch You don't have to, but it would make my day if you did. :) [link] [comments]

Make Symmetra's teleporter visible to teammates through walls Posted: 28 Apr 2017 01:39 AM PDT It bears repeating. Just like hacked health packs - Symm's teleporter should be visible to the team through walls. What is the point of her saying "protect the teleporter" if no one knows where it is? Im sure there is some way to make sure it doesnt show up on the enemy's kill cam. Edit: While we are at it - it would be nice for some sort of directional indicator for Symm on which way the players will exit - I still have no idea and I play her a ton. [link] [comments]

[Suggestion] "Leave game as a group" should be checked by default after match is over. Posted: 28 Apr 2017 02:05 PM PDT As it happens, if you're in a group, and you are the leader, 9 times of out 10, you'll want to leave as a group so you can queue for the next match. The only time you won't is if you're rage quitting. The worst thing is when you forget to check the box and your group disbands. If someone has any rational arguments to make against this suggestion, I'd love to hear them. [link] [comments] |
