This push has made it possible to create more complex and interesting mechanics without creating confusion. Amazing! Also, make sure to check out our Whispers of the Old Mods: Round 2 that is currenly in the voting phase. Have a great weekend! [link] [comments]

When dirty rat goes really wrong![ARENA] Posted: 29 Apr 2017 08:21 AM PDT
Posted: 28 Apr 2017 09:44 PM PDT Not because of its effect that become absolutely busted with all the tokens flying around, but because it has the most flavorful text of any hard. "Then it dies. Horribly." Beutiful. Flavor text actually on the card, and not hidden in some weird menu somewhere. Blizz, can we please have some cards with flavored text, rather than bland functionality? Power Overwhelming would suck, if it read: "give a friendly miniom +4/+4; at the end of the turn destroy it." [link] [comments]

Cool interaction between Primalfin champion and mindcontrol. Posted: 29 Apr 2017 07:49 AM PDT I dont know if this has been posted before but yesterday I had a paladin play primalfin champion with spikeridged steed on it. I used my mindcontrol to steal his minion. Turns out when it died it not only gave me spikeridged steed back but also gave me back my mindcontrol. [link] [comments]

What would be a reason not to reveal discovered/random cards added to hand? Posted: 29 Apr 2017 06:44 AM PDT People throw this idea around fairly often, but what would stop Team5 from implementing it? [link] [comments]

TIL freezing Swamp King Dred with a battlecry prevents him attacking your minion Posted: 29 Apr 2017 06:11 AM PDT Playing Quest rogue with Glacial Shard and I thought i'd try it for science. Hopefully helps some other people out there get on board when against him :) [link] [comments]
Getaway Kodo + Sherazin Interaction - Bug? Posted: 29 Apr 2017 02:33 AM PDT So I ("pr0meth") just played Miracle Rogue vs. a Murloc Paladin player called "Chrissss2". I picked Getaway Kodo from Hallucination and played it with my Sherazin, because I liked the idea of having two of them. He cleared Sherazin with Truesilver Champion, but the secret remained inactive. But when Sherazin was revived and then killed again for the second time, the secret suddenly gave me Sherazin to my hand (without one going dormant!). Does anyone else know this? 10,000 players have reached legend in North America this month. Posted: 28 Apr 2017 07:34 PM PDT I think this is the first time this has happened in the NA region. Not sure of the number on EU but it is at least 25,000. Ranked floors combined with the post-expansion flood of players has blown up the legend pool! PS: center that number Blizz pls [link] [comments]

Posted: 29 Apr 2017 12:47 AM PDT After a year of hearthstone, I've finally pushed past rank 15 (which I generally get stuck on) to 10 with midrange hunter. Woohooo!!!! [link] [comments]
"Top 2" brawl - shower thought Posted: 29 Apr 2017 03:58 AM PDT The Top 2 brawl, for me, was exceptionally fun. It was one of the few brawls that I played more than 1-2 times after the weekly win. Since the first time I played it, I always wondered why they didn't bring it back. We've seen repeat brawls all the time, but never Top2. It just occurred to me that Patches is probably the reason. Turn 1 7face damage that refills for a couple turns is hard to beat. I guess shieldbearer tech to survive? [link] [comments]

Playing occasional offmeta is what keeps the meta fresh Posted: 29 Apr 2017 03:02 AM PDT Hello everyone! First, a bit about myself: I am Kodo, a semi-serious player. I started playing pretty much exactly a year ago, have reached legend twice and rank 5 every season excluding my first couple seasons. Out of the Timmy/Johnny/Spike spectrum I'd be a Timmy. My favourite class is Paladin and favourite card is N'zoth. Does any of this matter? I dunno, whatever. Let's get down to business.
Right now most players can agree: the meta is diverse. Quest rogue, Burn mage, Murloc paladin, Midrange hunter, Pirate warrior, Flower rogue, Aggro druid, Freeze mage & Quest Warrior are the first decks that come to mind. These decks represent all of the deck types and function very differently from one another. It isn't even the polarized rock-paper-scissors type of meta Gadgetzan had. So why make a post on Reddit if all is well? Because I don't believe the good days will last forever, they never will.
So right now the meta is starting to solve, and while a lot of refining will be incoming, it's stablizing from the chaotic imminent days right after the standard rotation. Eventually the best decks are figured out, and after that you won't see anything but those. Everyone likes winning, and the best deck is what wins the most. Why would anyone play something that wins less when you could win more? And that leads to a (at least my) nightmare: a stale meta.
What I'd want everyone to consider is the option of playing offmeta every now and then. For those not familiar with the term, offmeta is basically all the decks that are not directly in the meta or do not counter the current meta. So take up a weird combination, maybe try to make C'thun viable again, attempt to revive fatigue warrior (there ain't that many jades around now), maybe give Zoolock a new chance or try to invent something completely new. Trying tier 3/4/5 decks ain't a bad idea either, as long as it's something different than whatever tier 1 deck will take over the meta.
But what about muh rank?? Yes, I know, rank is very important to most ladder players, and offmeta decks usually don't take you places. But this is where Blizzard & Team5 really helped us with: the rank floors. Since you cannot derank when at a rank floor, it's the perfect moment to give a shot at something different. And a lot of people have done this already, which makes more interesting and diverse game scenarios take place. So whenever you hit a new rank floor, consider doing yourself and the meta a favour and taking a small break from the meta.
A lot players reached legend for the first time this season, and those who did, I encourage you to spice up your legend games with offmeta decks. When I got my first legend in August -16, the first thing I did while in legend was que up some Mill rogues. Why? Simply because the grind had taken so long that I vowed never to play Aggro shaman again. The whole idea of playing more meta decks was simply repulsive. So unless you are aiming for high legend, and assuming you just hit your first legend, I don't think you should, take a well deserved break from the meta while you can. Nobody is going to judge you for being in dumpster legend, it's still legend. It feels great to deny a pirate warrior's legend dreams with quest druid. - Decklist
Besides the ranked floors and legend, the third place where you have a good opportunity for something different is the early season climb. While offmeta probably won't take you to new record ranks, it will most likely carry you for the early journey. So assuming you consistently hit rank 10, you should be able to easily get rank 15 with an offmeta deck. Let the offmeta take you as far as it can, and only then pick up the meta decks to go the rest of the way. Homebrewn N'zoth Paladin I hit rank 5 in last season (3/17)
As a last option, the final days of the season are also viable for less serious decks. You hopefully already achieved your goal for the season, probably won't make it to new thresholds since time is running out, so why not
Some of my decks I've been playing this season: wiRer's N'zoth warrior, with small modifications I just threw priest cards together and called it a deck. Won suprisingly ~50% in legend. Wild dude paladin, rank 5. Would add Quartermasters if I had them. Token druid. Not aggro.
Do the meta a favor, and put away your tier 1 decks, if just for a game or two. Thank you for reading. I don't think I'm a very good writer, but can't learn without doing. Edit: formatting. [link] [comments]

Spectating Bug- Not being able to leave the game when it's over. Posted: 28 Apr 2017 07:49 PM PDT Anyone else have it where the game basically freezes and won't let you leave the victory/defeat screen when spectating? I keep having to quit the game (I'm using the Mac Client.) [link] [comments]

Bittertide Hydra: Trap Card of Un'goro Posted: 29 Apr 2017 04:33 AM PDT The more I see Bittertide Hydra in constructed and the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced it's a trap card i.e. one that looks good but is really the Achilles' heel of the deck. I've seen too many instances where it gets pummeled with Unleash the Hounds, Volcano or a bunch of tokens and either the opponent dies outright or not much longer after. What are people's experiences with Bittertide Hydra? [link] [comments] |
