The stunlock meta heroes were nerfed because it was unfun and oppressive. So why do Varian and Valeera have point and click stuns longer than they do?

Uther's Hammer of Justice has a very short range and is a 0.75 second stun with an 8 second cooldown.

Tyrande's Lunar Flare is a delayed ability that is a 0.75 second stun with a 12 second cooldown.

Raynor's Bullseye talent is at level 16, a skillshot, and a 1 second stun with a 12 second cooldown.

These abilities and talents were nerfed because stun stacking was boring and unfun and drove players away from the game.

Varian's Warbringer talent at level 4 gives him a 1 second gap closing stun with an 8 second cooldown. With his taunt, he can keep a single target under hard crowd control for 2.25 seconds by himself every 16 seconds.

Valeera's Cheap Shot is a 1.5 second point and click stun with an 8 second cooldown.

All of the older, nerfed skills have shorter durations, longer cooldowns, delays, or other conditions and strings attached to their use, and they're still less potent than the newest point-and-click crowd control available to the newer heroes, and Cleanse is still a nonchoice.

Lucio price drop

Just wanted to let you know that Ribbit Lucio is no longer an epic skin and therefore his price has dropped to 7.49€ and the bundle is now at 13.11€.

A question for everyone having purchased the more expensive bundle: did you get some sort of refund? I was lucky enough to wait, I will probably buy him now

Notification about changed heroes.

It would be cool to have notification in game if hero was changed, since not everyone read patchnotes and I often meet people that ask me what was changed. I request to add little "!" mark near hero portrait if he was changed. Example

Her win rate in HL has been climbing since release and now is at 47%. Nova and Zeratul, the other two stealth heroes, are at 48%.

In Quickmatch, she is not only by far the most popular hero (72k games last 7 days while second most played hero (Nova) has 49k games). Her win rate is 51%%. Nova has a 48% win rate and Zeratul a 44% win rate in Quickmatch.

Seems to me Valeera is doing just fine and a hero that can open with a 1.5 second stun from stealth always will be on the verge of oppressive. I'd argue she's already there in QM.

Ok, Wall Riding across the map as Lucio might be my favorite thing in this game now.

It's unbelievably fun, and surprisingly fast. I think some people think they have to constantly stick to a wall, which makes them feel like it's clunky. It's not. Just hit up against some terrain now and then to preserve the wall riding buff and you're good to go. It lasts for 2 seconds before it falls off, and you'll probably bump up against some terrain again in the mean time.

At level 1 pick up "Accelerando" and you'll be moving faster than your mounted teammates. Pick up "Slip" and use enemy heroes as a booster as you pass through them. You don't have to move through them while against the wall, just while you have the buff.

Jumping off of structures as you pass by them with a 20% boost of speed is a blast. I was skeptical as to how well Wall Riding would translate into HotS, but it's completely won me over. I absolutely adore it. Hats off to Blizzard for this one.

For all the people crying for Lucio's Crossfade colours to be swapped

There is so many threads popping up with people for some reason thinking that green is the official colour of healing in HoTS, and therefor wanting Lucio's crossfade colours to be swapped around.

Green is NOT the default colour for healing. Malfurion, Rehgar, Brightwing and Medic's healing beam is green.

Uther, Tyrande, Kharazim and now Lucio has yellow as their main heals colour.

Tassadar's shield is blue, and Li Li's brew is blue with hints of green.

There isn't some strong majority of the games healing that are represented by the colour green, so stop crying and asking for it to be reversed. He already has a colour scheme, and suddenly swapping them around will be extremely odd and confusing for people who are familiar with the character from Overwatch.

I think HL borders and TL borders should be different. Grand Master Borders and # for HL and TL should be distinguishable from each other.

Hero League is a good indicator of individual skill and should be distinguishable from Team League rankings. They should have different borders, perhaps different colors.

There are too many people using their Grand Master TL borders who are Plat or Diamond in HL. It gets confusing to know their individual skill even for HGC casters during the qualifiers. i.e. it is much easier to get Grand Master in TL than it is in HL since you can stack teams and smaller player base.

I like the new Murky, he might need some number nerfs before he goes over to live, but overall his talents seem to be really enjoyable and fun. I think it's awesome that our favorite murloc will probably be a viable pick from now on.

One thing that bugs me about him though is his bribe talent. It's simply way too good. One wave of creeps is already a merc. This is especially insane on maps like blackhearts bay, where there's many merc camps around and murky can easily clear mid and top lane in a few seconds.

Basically, it needs a straight nerf. I think they should double the amount of stacks required to bribe a single merc. Anyone agree?

Hello all,

I'm back with the fourth installment of the Visualized Hero Win Rates! I hope it can be useful to you in your HL, TL, and unranked drafts. I want to thank all of you for the positive feedback and constructive criticism! I believe it continues to help motivate me and allow me to create better graphs for you going forward.


What's new?


I have a website and a label for my plots going forward! The new website where you can find all of my updated posts is http://www.ggplots.com. It is an homage to the library that I use in R to create the graphs and also stands for "good game plots". I believe through the use of data and visualization techniques that you, me, and everyone else can increase the likelihood of our good games.


BONUS HGC Draft Analysis


This weekend many of you may have noticed me posting in the match threads an analysis of heroes drafted at certain spots in the EU and NA HGC. Here is a post with all of my analyses of the HGC drafts for the most popular heroes, warriors, assassins, and supports. Hope you enjoy it!


What is it?


I have created a data visualization for every map in Heroes of the Storm that features every hero's win rate, overall win rate, number of hero league games played, while all being color coded by hero role.

HOTS LOGS is the source for all of my data, and I know that everyone can go to their website and use the table for Hero statistics per battleground, but I personally feel as though a graph is more intuitive and conveys a lot more information in a shorter amount of time.


Graphs and Explanation


How to use these charts:

  1. The bar shows the hero's win rate on that map.
  2. The darker the color of the bar, the more games played for the hero on the map.
  3. The dot shows the hero's overall win rate, across all maps.
  4. The black dotted line represents a 50% win rate.

To make the graphs more applicable to users, I have broken the charts up into two groups: Platinum, Diamond, and Master and Bronze, Silver, and Gold.

Cosmetic suggestion: Move Lucio face higher on a loading screen

Right now part of Lucio's face fades in the dark strip on the lower side of player/hero box on the loading screen (see the image). Facial features for all other characters are always on the bright side, and can be clearly seen. but with Lucio it's looks pretty confusing, due to lower position and his head angle (Valeera's face also placed low, but she's looking up, which compensate this).

Would really love, if they move his face slightly up, closer to Stitches/Valla position.

Lucio cannot cancel his autoattack target

A seen in video above. I start attacking merc camp, then move away from it, and then Lucio starts autoattacking whenever I come back near it. This might be really problematic in many cases. (potential jukes etc.)

Lets discuss Lucio's Ribbit skin & price

So, as always, Blizzard's releasing a new hero with a new skin, and a bundle of both of them combined.

Surprisingly enough, the Ribbit skin has no special animations, no themed abilities, no altered voice acting, and no themed mount.

Alas, that sounds like a classic Rare skin, that goes for less money, however it seems Blizzard market the skin as Epic quality, making it the first Epic skin in game that has no special attributes.

Please Blizzard, don't make this a trend. If you're creating a Rare quality skin, give it the appropriate price tag.

Imagine:

  1. Arcane rift - launch a heart of bolt
  2. Force of will - protect hero with love
  3. Portal - Enter the the tunnel of love (with lvl 7 talent, raven becomes mini bow and arrow)
  4. Poly bomb - I don't know, maybe some clouds hearts and spells on it. (The one who got to the aoe, will be inlove)
  5. Seal - disable by being love struck, launch a projectile of love.
  6. Raven - Turn into a love bird.
