| I really hated the voiced protagonist, but then i tried playing as the female survivor Posted: 08 Feb 2017 11:57 AM PST Usually i play as a guy if given the choice because i'm a guy and i like to make the character look like me, but recently i discovered that playing as female shepard in Mass effect was much better, because the male shepard is bland in every way IMO. So i decided to try the same thing with fallout My main problem with the male protagonist voice was that he sounded like such an asshole. Either he came off as completely clueless, a childrens TV host or the lines just sounded forced and bland. And the tone he delivered the lines in never matched the context, which kept throwing me off. Well actually it kept pissing me off. The female VA however does a much better job, she is tonally consistent and delivers the lines with some personality (gasp) . She's much more genuine and she actually sasses the sarcasm up a bit, which the male actor did not. So if the Voice actor keeps pissing you off, start a new character, or download a mod, or type "sexchange" in the console. Really, just try this out! [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 08 Feb 2017 11:28 AM PST EDIT: I'm hearing the screenshots don't work. Sorry about that. Certain sites don't allow hotlinking to images due to bandwidth costs. The images are the same as you will find in the guide just below. If you open them in tabs in your browser and it tells you you can't access the screenshots, just click the address bar and press enter. This way you won't be accessing them through a hotlink and they should work ;) Just ran into this while looking at the effects of Anti-Alias in fallout4. It adds a post-processing effect to the game that undoes the smudging caused by the game's TAA anti-alias. I tried it out myself. Works like a charm :D For anyone who is wondering, I don't think this modification messes with achievements, but I cannot confirm it. Before: After: GIF Comparisson: (Glasses ON / Glasses OFF :D) The tutorial is a bit outdated, but it gets the job done. There's no more mediator menu anymore, instead you just use the setup thingy to prep your game. I was just curious and passing through /r/fallout and I just wanted to ask a question that is really important to me and should be important to all Fallout fans. What do we want from the next Fallout? Fallout 4 was a good game, but not a good Fallout game. Bethesda dropped the ball on A LOT of things, and it outraged the Fallout community. So, let's compile and discuss our wishlist for the next Fallout and perhaps, by some luck, Bethesda just might see this and take some things away from it. First, Fallout 4 did screw a lot of things up, but one thing they got right was the gunplay and game mechanics. The firefights and shootouts in Fallout 4 were utterly action packed and so fun, and I hope that this is one of the things they transfer to the next Fallout. Second, the role-playing. Oh, boy. The role-playing, arguably the worst aspect of Fallout 4. They botched this completely, from the skill trees to the voiced protagonist (though the actors did an AMAZING job, it just wasn't for Fallout). I would like to see what they did in Skyrim. Skills level up as you use them, instead of choosing them as perks. Perks need to return, though. They are a staple in Fallout. I know that some people may not agree with this, but I also think that they should let us choose our own race. I have always wanted them to add ghouls and super mutants as playable races (and now maybe synths too). I feel like it could add more flavor and replayablity to Fallout, and overall make it a MUCH better experience. Third, the atmosphere of Fallout 3. Fallout 3 captured the feeling of a city in ruins after a nuclear apocalypse so flawlessly. It was so desolate, depressing, creepy...ruined. And that is why it was so perfect. Four, the power armor system of Fallout 4, but improved. Fallout 4's power armor system was cool, with the power armor acting more as a vehicle instead of previous power armors, but just felt like a completely underpowered and unfinished game mechanic. Power armor was so easy to destroy in Fallout, and it really got irritating. These armors are supposed to be like tanks! So why after one clip of ammunition does my arm get destroyed? Also, I ended up not liking how we got power armor at the beginning of Fallout 4. Power armor was supposed to be something really special and cool, like a legendary armor, in the other games. Here, its just handed to you! It completely loses all sense of worth! Thank you for those who took the time to read this, I appreciate it very much. Please give me your thoughts on what the next Fallout should be like, I would love to hear your opinions! EDIT: Also a new engine that needs to be optimized to high hell. Posted: 08 Feb 2017 08:36 AM PST I have a melee automatron with assaultron legs, and when she feels like it, she is a fucking badass, but most of the time she acts like a fucking retard. She will ignore enemeies until they actually hit her. I have been in gunfights, and she is just standing around with her thumb up her ass until she gets hit with a stray bullet. Then she rushes in to battle and goes off. She is powerful, but most of the time she acts like a retard. [link] [comments]  |

| Posted: 08 Feb 2017 03:33 PM PST When fast travelling or cleaning up a settlement it randomly crashes after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay. I cleaned out my PS4 recently due to a dust build up and it getting too hot but I've had no other problems with other games like Metal Gear Solid for 3 hours. With this said, Skyrim also does this and both games crash after about 10-15 minutes of gameplay. Does anyone have any advice to stop this from happening? [link] [comments]  |
