Devs please do this for us!!

Homestead was a great patch. Having a blast with it. However i have one main concern.

Please allow us to View the object in detail from furniture vendors (achievement), and from blueprints people post in chat. They are very expensive and it's often a gamble buying the item.

All Orc Guild?

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 11:26 PM PST

Would anyone be interested in an all orc guild? I'm about to make an orc character for the first time, and I assume if I make an all orc Guild, it will need to be in the Dagerfall Covenant, since I assume most players don't have "Any Race, Any Alliance" upgrade.

Edit: I'm on PC on the NA server.

Homestead best location

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 10:42 PM PST

I'm trying to find a thread that had previously been posted about the best house location. Listed by 5 criteria like wayshrine, bank, crafting, stables nearby, and price. Does someone have a link or thoughts to kick off that idea?

ESO PvP Castle Attack Tip: Going into the Breach

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 03:48 PM PST

Before entering a keep through a wall or door breach, group up and let everyone pack up their siege. Don't barrel in. Stream into the keep in an irregular line rather than snug on crown as you would if you were open skirmishing. This way, any counter-siege the defenders put on the breach will kill far less of you due to siege reload time. Healers drop AOE heals right on the breach as you run in, and even more survive the gauntlet. Have a plan for where you'll go next before you run in! More on that in another post...

(If you like these tips I could write up a longer post on a few attack and defense tactics for keeps, outposts and resources.)

Dungeon Finder - Achieved the Impossible

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 03:37 AM PST

Dungeon Finder has always been some what unreliable but to make it worse was a huge ask. They did it though!

Homestead is a great update but the ready check on the finder is a nightmare.

We had 3 people ready and only 1 dps who wasn't. No problem, finding another dps won't take long. Or maybe you get dumped to the back of the queue and each person rejoins as individuals!

It now takes an age to find a group.

Is there a way to switch this off?

Most dungeons can be ran with 2. At least before this you could start with the people who were ready and then queue for the missing ones.

[Discussion] OMG FROST STAFF TANK IS AWESOME

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 08:04 PM PST

Forgive me while I erect the spine of excitement.... My guild is currently robbing Orsinium blind for couch recipies and the like, so I had to turn to reddit to share my thoughts....

First know, that I've never tanked a day in my life until today. But I've always liked frost staves, and with the added taunt on the heavy attack, I have to say I was just way to curious. I HAD to try it out. I had a Dragonknight healer that I abandoned long ago, so I geared him up and took him for a spin in a couple of delves.

Wow.... just wow. A taunt, AND a damage shield, on top of the DK shields.... it was just so damn sexy.....

So then I thought "Well, let's see if I can solo a world boss" . . . I found that Frost Atronach world boss in the Rift and went toe to toe with him. Didn't die. He did, but I didn't.

Ran a couple of normal dungeons, thought people would bitch and moan about Frosty the tank man... but they couldn't, that taunt/shield deal really is doing what it's supposed to do, I held every bosses attention the way I imagine a tank is supposed to.

My only suggestion is that there is a way that they could make bashing/break free and/or dodge rolling consume magicka instead of stamina like it is for Blocking.

Either way, Now that I've gotten a taste for frost staff tanking, I don't think I can ever look back. Oh Lordie, wait till I apply the same logic to the Warden. . . .

Stay moist, my friends.

Now that the homestead update has hit xbox 1 i want go get back into eso. Im champion level 150 and i will be coming up on 160 soon. I have a bunch of chars but ny main is my DK. Not ever having any friends that play the game ive basically played it single player and have only grinded. How a PC player handled the Homestead market, to console players

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 11:00 AM PST

I have been dealing in recipes since release, so let me fill you in. This is actually a copy of something I wrote elsewhere, but felt others might appreciate it. Feel free to comment or correct.

  • furniture recipes are going to fluctuate like crazy. Since I was sort of poor, when homestead came out I mostly dealt in green recipes. Stuff generally could be sold for ~3-6k depending on the item, and with patience could be found ~2k. Blue and purple items had larger margins, but good luck finding someone selling them on the low end.

note: i have no idea what average console prices are, so take the numbers with a grain of salt. I figure the idea still applies though.

  • as things cool down, greens and blues are going to plummet in price. Do NOT invest in greens for more than 3-4 days, and keep a careful eye on blues. Some retain their value, but most will drop to a steady 10k or lower. Purples, however, are still riding a healthy 30-40k for smaller items and 50k+ for stuff people really want more than a week later. I suggest you just sell everything you get your hands on the first week, maybe sell for slightly below the average on greens to get a faster turnover before things go south. In any case, I suggest you get a trading guild in a semi popular spot right now. I unfortunately lost a spot shadowfen town that was pretty lucrative 2 days in, which cost me maybe 70k in profits by the time I switched inventory elsewhere.

note: due to getting the update after we did, your market might "recover" sooner due to our hindsight / multi platform player manipulations. Definitely be cautious around low tier items.

  • furniture itself is hard to sell, and the resources used to make stuff can get expensive. If looking to be a furnisher, I suggest you make a couple of high value items to show off and hold off on anything else until someone asks for a set. I do however have some luck selling stuff like beds and lighting in guild stores. Prices should account for what materials cost on the market, and as small a premium as you can justify so that people want to buy instead of craft for themselves. Note: good luck completing racial sets. It was hell looking for specific blueprints before installing guild store addons. Same goes for getting deals on materials, get used to calculating unit prices from stacks an digging through piles of provisioning goods to find crafting materials.

seriously, good luck finding specific pieces without PC addons. Get used to asking around in chat.

  • I have more luck finding blue recipes by just looting enemies/containers in dungeons than running around coldharbor. Again, never found a purple but I'll just put this idea out there. You also get a chance at some of the fancy new motif pages this way, and their prices will follow the same rules as blueprints. I sold some ragada daggers for 40k day two, and now I am finding it impossible to sell some mace motif for 25k. Miiiiight be able to get 15k for it before it drops all the way down to 4 digits.

again, prices may vary. If specifically looking for the new motifs, i found a couple of cool delves in craglorn to farm bosses, relog, and reloot containers nearby.

  • heartwood. All crafting materials are useful, but heartwood is the most important IMO. Stuff like flour or bast come and go in usefulness, but you will run out of heartwood. Stack your CP to get the gathering bonuses, and go to town on gathering materials. Maybe consider selling everything you find for the first week, like blueprints. Without map addons you will just have to get a feel for where stuff will be, but considering how rich some areas are this should not be a problem. I got 1k raw wood between casual dolmen runs (I did 2/3 dolmens, skipping the one that takes the longest in order to run through a personal node farm) in about a weekend, and around 100 heartwood. Find a spot that has both nice loot to sell, and lots of resources nearby.

  • high value items. Argonian and wood elf stuff sucks, they are always 1-3k worse off than stuff like high elf and redguard. Dark elf I consider to be mid-high, orcish stuff is cool but sadly low-mid. Khajiit can be high end but not always easy to sell, nord is similarly dealt with midrange. IDK what was going on with breton but that was all over the place. In the end, it boils down to availability and popularity. High elf stuff is pretty and "elvish", so while stuff was still in demand they sold the highest. Khajiit is similarly popular. Argonian and wood elf is butt ugly and should feel bad. Orcish is very rough looking, but some items are very cool. Nord is so plain, but hey lots of people play nord characters. Dark elf is my specialty but nobody seems to care outside of high end stuff. Redguard and Breton tends to be a mix of uber fancy and practical.

this is just my very personal experience when going through dozens of guild stores. Again, prices may vary, and so might racial preferences between communities. Wood elf will still suck tho.

  • if you want to sell furniture, collect rugs, lights, large furniture, and keep ~50k on you at al times trying to find that one stupid good deal in zone chat or some random guild store still 30 days fresh.

seriously, I have gotten so many good deals in chat by just barely matching an acceptable price. People tend to resort to chat to drop stuff quickly, so my strategy was to innocently say "hey, if nobody bites I'll offer [low but acceptable price]". Worked like a charm, so long as I actually was carrying some cash instead of investing everything.

ESO PvP Castle Attack Tip: Guards

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 08:19 PM PST

It's not always necessary to fight or even aggro keep guards. If you enter a keep and guards attack, they will return to their posts if they chase you too far from their starting spot. For example, if after entering an outer breach you're planning to secure a rear corner tower from which to siege the inner keep wall, you can ignore any guards who chase you from their posts in the front yard or keep porch. When inside a keep, fight right upon the flag as much as you can, as every player-second spent on the flag speeds the flip, making fighting the rest of the guards a moot point as they too will flip to your alliance.

Templar tank build [trials]

Posted: 22 Feb 2017 01:00 AM PST

It seems that there are no known builds or guides on the web about templar tank builds for trials (norm and vet) because "dragonknight is the best". While I understand that it is true I think that templars deserve a greater consideration as trial tank! Don't take this as a "guide: best templar tank build world record runs" but more like a "I think this is a solid build (for both norm and vet trials) and I would like to hear your opinions".

ATTRIBUTES: 0 magicka - 0 health - 64 stamina

EQUIP (weight - trait - glyph):

  • head: blood spawn (medium - infused - prismatic)

  • shoulder: blood spawn (light - infused - prismatic)

  • chest: tava's favor (heavy - infused - prismatic)

  • gloves: tava's favor (heavy - sturdy - stamina)

  • waist: tava's favor (heavy - sturdy - stamina)

  • legs: tava's favor (heavy - infused - prismatic)

  • feet: tava's favor (heavy - sturdy - stamina)

JEWELERY (trait - glyph):

  • necklage: ebony (robust - reduced stamina cost)

  • ring 1&2: ebony (robust - reduced stamina cost)

WEAPONS (trait - glyph) (bot set are the same):

  • sword: ebony (decisive - crushing)

  • shield: ebony (infused - prismatic)

note: tava's and ebony set can be exchanged (like you get tava's weapons and ebony armor... whatever...)

SKILL BARS

Imgur

MAIN BAR (meant for close tanking and ultimate generation)

  • pierce armor: basic taunt, major fracture.

  • heroic slash: little ultimate generation (0.66 ult per sec), minor maim.

  • blazing shield: is the main magicka use of this build. Get the shield, use power of light on the enemy, get shield shatter, proc aoe damage, fill power of the light damage threshold. repeat.

  • power of light: minor ultimate generation (0.5 per sec), minor fracture.

  • absorb magic: great passive and good health regen.

  • aggressive warhorn: without decisive weapon we would have ~7 ult per sec resulting in ~210 ultimate in 30 sec while we need 240 ult. With decisive weapon this is always up.

SECONDARY BAR (meant for buffing)

  • inner beast: a ranged taunt is always usefull.

  • honor the dead: it is more a placeholder, it can be a selfish panic button or you could replace it with toppling charge for extra mobility or bone surge for extra shield.

  • resolving vigor: imo it is a must have aoe healing for you and the party.

  • rune focus: major resolve/ward source, 8% damage reduction, 8% more heals (+25% more heals from restoring light passives), ridicolously small cost...

  • shuffle: main source of dodge which procs tava's favor, precast it before taunt

  • empowering sweeps: I personally like this skill, despite being magic based it gives us good damage mitigation (which could result in massive reduction with lots of mobs) and the cost is so small that we can generate more ultimate than what is required (in the 10s of the damage reduction effect)

CHAMPION POINTS: I'm still working on them (I'm just cp 350) but I'm going for usual ones...

So that's all. What do you think? any suggestion?

Magicka Nightblade

Posted: 21 Feb 2017 09:10 PM PST

Team!

I've heard and seen cases of people saying magicka NB is pretty much at the bottom of the food chain atm pvp wise.

My question is, since Homestead has this changed at all? I always thought the concept of a ninja that uses shadow magic is Badass and I have a Max level stamNB that I'm bored to death of and was considering converting.

Cheers!
