All of the G4 winners were from different countries Posted: 28 Jan 2017 09:10 AM PST Armada from Sweden won Melee, MKLeo from Mexico won Sm4sh, and Alvin from Peru won 64. Really shows how Smash is becoming an international eSport all around. EDIT: And FullStream, from America won Rivals. [link] [comments]
John Numbers with the fastest mash Posted: 28 Jan 2017 05:08 PM PST looked like a fair footstool to end the set, but nope.. https://clips.twitch.tv/houseof3000/VastGoshawkShibeZ [link] [comments]

This SoCal colosseum is the sickest regional I've seen Posted: 28 Jan 2017 09:30 PM PST 6 sets in top 8 so far have gone to game 5, and everyone is playing amazing. Westballz-n0ne and n0ne-s2j were incredible. And now we've got GOAT commentary (I'm not counting Eden, that one felt bigger than a regional) [link] [comments]

Here is the first in the series with the dynamic Jigglypuff main: Wangera. [link] [comments]

Revisiting Abadango vs Captain Zack. We know Witch time is a bit ridiculous, but is it unreasonable? Posted: 28 Jan 2017 04:47 AM PST Lots of stuff goes down in this set that I dont analyze, i just wanted to pull put four particular instances here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy-8Md7LDuM&t=0m45s Simply spacing a down tilt as bayonetta tries to approach mewtwo, which she shouldnt be doing and is exactly a part of Mewtwos game. She manages to witch time the frame 6 down tilt just as the move is starting, and if you look how far back she is, Mewtwo is practically at the ledge of the stage and Bayonetta is far back to the yellow female villager. Its unreal that Mewtwo can throw out a simple spacing tool to back someone up, and get punished by death https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy-8Md7LDuM&t=8m24s This is exactly how mewtwos game is supposed to play. Get back to stage, use shadow ball. Bait your opponents movement, bayo comes in with a bair and mewtwo roll dodges it to retake the stage advantage and punish her for her movement. Yet when he throws out his frame 6, supposedly safe dtilt to punish, Bayonetta witch times it on startup again, and punishes it by death. This time the positions have switched; Bayos back is near the ledge and mewtwo is at the brown bearcat animal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy-8Md7LDuM&t=12m56s Bayo whiffs an afterburner kick and lands on a platform with landing lag. Mewtwo goes to punish it going through the platform with a frame 7 nair, gets taken from 19% to 73%. This wouldnt happen to anyone else in the game. He is dragging the nair down, so no one else besides the last 2 DLC characters could have even connected the counter. Had he not DI'd out he would have died https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dy-8Md7LDuM&t=15m06s She goes for a Bair, Mewtwo shields it and goes for the Fair OoS. This is a frame 6 punish and mewtwo has the range to punish these moves. Yet, Bayo witch times after the bair and catches his fair, leading to death. This move should not be punishable, and certainly not lead to an instant stock loss Question. Is this unreasonable? This is literally Mewtwos bread and butter game and most of these were either just basic spacing moves or the most safe of punishes that instead got punished themself. It isnt that Aba doesnt know the matchup, as he has taken out the likes of Salem, 9B, Pink Fresh (in a 2-0) and Saj (in a 3-1 with a 2 stock) I just... dont see how to compete with this. You cant really say "well this was a bait and punish" because this wouldnt be possible with any other character in the game. Witch time covers such a massive range on her front, back, and underneath her, and no other character offers the type of reward that this move offers. Many of the moves were getting countered on their startup, and even if they werent, Bayo still has Bat Within as a safety net Kudos to Zack on the win, i just have to say G4s top 8 was straight up aggrevating to watch for a variety of reasons, this being one of them. The disjoint is supposed to be a tool to keep opponents out of your face, especially for a lightweight like Mewtwo. But with Witch times absurd properties and hitbox for activation, this doesnt seem balanced at all. [link] [comments] |
