This past December, the FCC voted to kill net neutrality, letting internet providers like Verizon and Comcast impose new fees, throttle bandwidth, and censor online content.

If this happens, subreddits like this one might not exist. But we can still block the repeal using the Congressional Review Act (CRA), and we're just one vote away from winning in the Senate and taking the fight to the House. That's why we're joining Operation: #OneMoreVote, an Internet-wide day of action on February 27.

This affects every redditor and every Internet user, and we only have a 60 legislative days left to stop it.

Could there be a way to grind for flux directly, mission rewards of some kind? Or perhaps raise the purchase cap? I really enjoy playing and grinding for stuff, but I'm to the point where the week resets, I buy the 5 flux and have to wait a week. I have the money, just can't spend it. Even if a mission reward was a single flux it'd feel like I was making some headway. But the system as it stands makes me feel more like a waiting game than playing game.

Outlanders need some proper love with their skills.

As the title states, Outlanders really need some love with their skills, right now it feels like no one wants them on their team besides for gathering materials.

So a friend and I have been discussing some ideas that could make them considerably better. These are mostly either or's that could be decent.

A] Make ALL the outlanders have "kills generate charges" this would help immensely on defense missions

B] Charge abilities can be used without charges, but with charges they're beefier.

Release the Skill Points!

Just wondering when and if you guys are thinking about increasing the Commander Level so end game players can continue leveling up their characters?

I have 25 skill points to go and I'm going insane trying to track out what I'm unlocking. And on top of that having to unlock items I don't necessarily use in order to reach 5 Star Heroes.

I know many people that are maxed out and still have plenty of Skill Tree points to unlock. Just kinda sucks that we are still without completed story lines, and stuck in character level limbo.

Considering there is no respons on ingame feedback, I'm gonna write it here, and hopefully an Epic member can answer me so I can know what's going on, or if I should just quit.

Situation: I'm experiencing around every 3rd mission, a player constantly running around far from the objective farming, or sitting on the edge of the map afk just waiting for us others to finish the mission so they can reap the reward.

What I need to know is are you planing on doing anything about this behaviour? Change how rewards are given, xp for contribution, a map just for farming? The fact that I'm spending my resources, durability etc. on defense, for some random explicit to gain from it by doing nothing is wrong!

How to temporarily fix Canny and Twine missions

Before I start this rant/suggestion, I am going to quickly define two terms I am going to be using. A "mission" is the mission that you complete on a map - it can be a Category 1, a Retrieve the Data, Build The Radar Grid, etc. "Quests" are the quests that are in between each Storm Shield Defence (SSD) mission.

A big problem for players in Canny and Twine is the monotony of the quests in those zones. For those not there yet, the quick explanation is that there is no story. This means that Ray is no longer around to give you context for doing quests. Instead, the quests turn into simple "Complete 3 X/Y/Z in a Level+ Zone". For example, a quest could be "Complete 3 Category 1, Deliver The Bomb or Evacuate the Shelter in a 58+ Zone".

There are a few problems that this brings up. The first is that if you are playing with friends, and you have no overlapping mission requirements, someone has to play missions with the group where they are not progressing their questline until there is overlapping missions for the whole group. Another problem with this is if you are trying to progress via soloing the content, sometimes you can be faced with missions that are very unfriendly towards solo players (Repair The Shelter, Cat 3, Cat 4 for example). Another huge problem is simply the availability of what missions are actually available. A huge speed bump for me, and I am sure other players, was a specific Level 70 quest saying "Complete 3 Category 1, Category 2, or Category 3 in a 70+ Zone".

What we originally had was a quest system where you could simply complete 3 of ANY type of mission to progress. What this led to however was people only ever doing Encampment, Survivor or Radar missions. People never had to farm materials, or build anything (other than Radars), and they were speeding through Canny and Twine quite fast. I agree that this had to change, but the system we have now is really not great.

So here is my suggestion. Overhaul it back to requiring any mission to progress the main quest line, however weight the missions for progress. What I mean by this is that each quest in between SSD's will require a certain amount of "points" to progress to the next quest. These points can be earned by doing missions, but with certain missions awarding more points than others.

Here is an example of what I mean. Let's say that you have just completed Twine SSD1, and you are about to begin your Twine Peaks journey. There are 18 quests until Twine SSD2. Each quest will require you to earn a certain amount of mission completion points (between 200-500) to progress to the next quest. A breakdown of what completion points may be awarded by each mission type could be -

Rescue The Survivors - 30 Points
Build The Radar Grid - 30 Points
Destroy The Encampments - 40 Points
Category 1 - 70 Points
Deliver The Bomb - 80 Points
Retrieve The Data - 90 Points
Ride The Lightning - 90 Points
Category 2 - 100 Points
Evacuate The Shelter - 120 Points
Category 3 - 125 Points
Repair The Shelter - 140 Points
Category 4 - 150 Points

Now of course, these are just hypothetical numbers, and your feedback on those numbers would be great. Obviously the first 3 are quite easy to solo, and should award low completions points, so that in a sense they grindable for solo players, but a poor option for players in a group. As you move down the list, the missions go from single objective and static spawn (possible to solo, and easy for a group) through to multiple waves, multiple objectives and just general pain in the butt missions.

I apologize for the semi wall of text, but I feel like this system is a win win for both solo and group players. Considering that Epic have said Canny and Twine are on the backburner in favour for events, I feel like a change like this is needed for Canny and Twine.

TL;DR Change Canny and Twine back to requiring any mission to complete a quest, however give harder mission more weighting than easier missions.

Fortnite Account Hacked - £1200 worth of vbucks bought

As title says, I was hacked and £1200 worth of vbucks was bought. I emailed epic support on Saturday (24/02/18) but haven't heard since. The money's yet to come out my bank account but I don't even have that much as I'm a full time student at university. How long with support take? Any epic staff on reddit that can help me out?

EDIT #1: I contacted my bank and they reversed the charges!

EDIT#2: Epic have now contacted me and escalated my ticket, so I should expect a response soon.

Epic Mini-Boss TELEPORTING into Objective

Alrighty. So this has happened twice to me today. Once during a Retrieve the Data in Twine Peaks (Epic Shotgun Transformation Alert) and around 10-15 minutes ago in Canny Valley during a Repair the Shelter (20 Rain drop Alert).

Each time the mini-boss has teleported he was affected by the Slow Field Gadget and in or near a 2x1 trap setup containing at least 1 gas trap, freeze trap, wall darts, and Wall Launcher.

Can't remember what type the Twine Peaks mini-boss was but I'm pretty sure the Canny Valley one was a Husky Husk. Can't remember their exact perk loadouts either.

Anyway, in both cases the mini-bosses teleported right next to the objective past all the defenses and proceeded to run roughshod over the base FROM THE INSIDE. Both were dispatched without doing TOO much damage but it was pretty jarring.

Has anyone else seen this happen?

Okay so my first quest is 2 play with other missions, which makes sense right ? New place you need to scout it etc, but why is my first reward a RARE schematic choice ?

I haven't used a rare since Stonewood lol

P.s. if the first storm shield is any indicator, t'would seem the difficulty skipped going up little by little and just hopped a few stories higher 😂

Please Remove Alert Limits

Like the title says, it'd be great if alert limits were simply removed from the game, or if the system could at least be reworked to allow us to play reward missions without having to claim the rewards. It sucks when an alert with terrible rewards comes up but it's something that you need for your quest or is the only thing giving the EXP you need and then afterwards you're locked out of an alert that actually gives a decent reward. It'd be an easy fix if either:

A) Alert limits were removed entirely. Alerts aren't even close to giving good enough rewards to justify locking people out of receiving more of them after claiming just a few of them. Decent rewards are few and far between and end up getting missed because people have been locked out of receiving them for doing quests in alerts with terrible rewards.

Or

B) Make claiming an alert reward optional. It'd still be an obnoxious system, where every alert completed would ultimately mean that the player is gambling that nothing better comes up in the next four hours while he waits for his cooldowns, but it'd still be a much better system than we have now. It'd keep somebody from having to use up an alert reward on 600 survivor EXP to help out somebody in Plankerton or to do their Play With Others daily, and would then allow them to use that reward on something that's actually useful, like an Epic Transform Key. Those two things are clearly not of equal value so they shouldn't be weighted as such in the first place, but if they're going to continue to be weighed as such then receiving one of them needs to be optional while still allowing players to complete whichever missions they like.

Hi all aFrequ here, we have a new rule we're putting in place and while we're announcing that we'd like to throw out a couple reminders for the community

 

Rule Addition: No Emojis in Titles

In an attempt to depict the sub in a more professional manner, we've decided to prohibit emojis from titles.

 

Rule Reminders

  • Be Civil

    • I know its annoying to see BR posts in this sub, but please try to remain civil towards them and avoid throwing insults. Kindly redirect them to /r/fortnitebr and report the post and it will be removed asap.
  • No Witchhunting

    • Afks/leechers/griefers are all annoying, but it is against reddit sitewide rules to name and shame. Posts including the names of such players will be removed. Ranting is fine, naming and shaming is not. This includes gifs of launching afkers off the map. griefers destroying your walls, etc where names are visible. Its not that we promote this behavior, but reddit condones naming and shaming, and we will follow that precedent.

 

FAQ

  • Can you create a daily/weekly thread for loot posts?

    • As stated before, before we updated our CSS we had a filter working that would allow users to filter these posts out, however, that capability is no longer pesent in the current CSS and we are working to get it back.
  • Can you create a daily/weekly thread for questions?

    • Currently, we believe that this action is not warranted, we may reconsider when the playerbase spikes or when the game goes f2p as those posts will increase in volume, but as of know we do not believe them to be a problem. If the community has a strong opinion on this we may reconsider this course of action. As it stands, filters for loot posts are in the works and STW going f2p/sale, which constituted a majority of these posts, are already prohibited as we have a wiki page for it (which can be found here).

My usual reminder that you don't need a perfectly rolled legendary weapon to steamroll the hardest content this game has to offer.

I feel like its time to put up my periodic reminder to newer players that you don't need a perfectly rolled legendary weapon to easily beat the hardest content in the game. You can cruise through level 100 missions with a well rolled epic or a shoddily rolled legendary gun. The only thing you need for weapons you use is 3 crappy elemental rolls, or a single halfway decently rolled energy gun (or just play shuriken ninja and you don't even need a gun).

If you bought that troll truck and feel like complaining that you didn't get perfect rolls on your new shiny, that's fine, but just realize that a lot of us high level players have been steamrolling the hardest content in the game and we don't have perfectly rolled weapons either. Hell, I use the Hydra most of the time because I think it is a really fun gun with the perfect fire rate/spread/range for my playstyle, but it has terrible rolls. Only one crit chance and only one crit damage, worse than a gray flat damage rolls. Energy roll instead of an elemental roll, terrible. It would be a more powerful weapon with 4 completely useless rolls and an elemental roll than it is with its current crap. It still wrecks everything in Twine.

Also, most players seem to completely ignore any purple weapons they get, but a well rolled purple weapon with an element is better than a crappy legendary. You can easily complete level 100 missions with a nicely rolled purple.

Whenever they do introduce rerolls, they will probably have to buff husk health a lot. Since everyone already destroys content when most of us have crappy rolls on their weapons, the game will become stupid easy when we can all craft perfect guns. If I can beat level 100 missions with my current crap rolled hydra, just image what will happen if I can craft elemental + affliction and 4x damage to afflicted targets on it. Note that I'm definitely not arguing against rerolls. I want them; you want them; we all want them. I just hope they add harder content to the game when they give us those rerolls.

TLDR: All you need is an elemental roll to beat the hardest content, so let's cut down on the complaining so much and take a look at your purple weapons. They are plenty powerful to destroy everything this game has to offer. Enjoy the game for what it is, instead of feeling bad about what you don't have.

I'm sure it's been asked before but I'd love a status update on cross-mode cosmetics, and if it's being considered. I get that some cosmetics are probably harder to implement then others (and some are redundant like gliders), but I'd love to use my emotes and pickaxes in STW somehow, and see my Tank Penny do the Floss dance haha.

Also from a business standpoint, opening up a portion of the BR cosmetics to the STW playerbase would probably be a good investment as all the folks who prefer STW (a minority but we exist) would now be willing to drop the dollas on the fantastic BR cosmetic stuff you are already making to being with. It would also increase the shelf life of these cosmetics for me which would help people (me) justify spending $19 (CDN) on a goofy shark pickaxe.

Edit: If you believe the "payout is more or less on point", I am gonig to say, you are objectivley wrong.

Previous event at late Canney (70), 115 tickets per storm mission to a maximum of 10 per day = 1150 tickets a day. Current event in late Canney (70) with a +1 Difficulty modifier gives 79 tickets. = 13 missions for 1 llama per day unless you upgrade more.

But point still is, we could get 1 event llama per day by donig 10 missions - which still can be hard for people with jobs and and families - by just playing missions with a slight increase in difficulty, variation with the storm modifiers.

And we can only do them on deffensive missions which averages out on 30 min per mission.

Furthermore, you could actually play the Survive The Storm missions as a variation to earn tickets after donig your daily missions. If this was time efficient vs. reward - I dunno. I honestly played the minimal amount - but it was there as an ADDITIONAL OPTION to the daily mission reward limit.

I want to reiterate - I love the idea of this. Jsut think it is poorly implamented and feeling unrewarding for the higher difficulties.


Seriously Epic. You can simply not hold yourself to make bad changes with the good ones, can you?

On paper, I LOVE the idea of dynamicly changing difficulty to increase rewards. I would love to have this to not only increase tickets and gold, but to increase the other amount of rewards, like schematic/hero/survivor.

But... sorry Epic, you find a way to make it the worst experience it ever could be.

It clearly is not a fix all, do all solution to earn tickets. And have a few issues with it.


First of - the increase difficulty vs. rewards is just not there. It really blows how little you get.

For ex.

The Giant firework, while cool, is super easy to destroy for the husks, and not enough rewards for investing the build-time, resources and traps into it. At the very LEAST, the Giant firework should drop a SHIT TON of envelopes. Like 15-20 of them. Not 5 or so...

We protected and fired this big ass firework, and it is only goin to drop roughly 5 envelopes when a regular drops 2-3? FUCK OFF! XD

Increasing envelopes would:

  1. That would look and feel fucking rewarding with a rain of golden envelopes.

  2. It would still only be half of the reward for the repeatable quest.

  3. Encurage people to actually take part of the event activities.


The second issue to address is the inconsistency at the rate you earn tickets.

In previous events, we did storm missions, or halloween mission etc.

We went INTO a mission, with full information and expectation of what we would need to do.

Now, we need to go into a mission - that very well can be, and usually will be with people we can only communicate with TEXT that a lot of people don't even TRY to be communicating with...

And we are expected to gauge ourselves how well we can perform when we do not even know what the waves will be?

Mass 'Sploders?

Taker/Lazer dude combo?

Smash barrage?

And not to mention - the "we can do more don't be a pussy!" and a random dude 20 levels bellow the mission blast the upgrade pylon to full...

IT. AIN'T. FUN!

You killed all enjoyment or incentive to do Survivor, Encampment, Radar missions...


Conclusion:

There is a lot more things to point out - but these two will probably suffice.

This is, by far, the least rewarding event to play in terms of trying to get event llamas.

I know we are now unbound to get "unlimited" amounts of tickets in a day... But the rate at which you earn tickets with that change is WAY TO LOW!!

Even if you can earn more than 10 daily storm mission tickets - not even the hardcore players are playing (or enjoying) trying to play that much to get an equivalent amount as we used to.

  • A suggested fix to this, would be to re-instate the storm mission rewards in COMBINATION with Dynamic Difficulty as it is.

5 daily storm missions available to do per day for to ensure you can have a set goal of tickets you can earn hassle free just playing regular missions.

And that you can combine these 5 missions with upgraded difficulty to earn a bit more, and keep earning tickets with upgraded difficulty after your 5 dailies are done.

I think this change would strike a nice balance between the hardcore and the casuals and gives.


*Side not: This is part of the reason Encampment felt so nice with how it was when it was "bugged". That we could increase the difficulty to make sure we earned atleast some tickets by just playing the game. I am not saying that the encampments should stay bugged - it was good that they fixed that, but it serves as a good measurment of what people felt was a good value/time proposition.

Fraud/Incorrect ban

So i was playing some PVP matches,and i grabbed something to eat. As soon as i got back my account was disabled.

I searched more about that and found that my account has been perma banned for cheating (?). I've been trying to contact Epic Games to check if the ban was legit but i got an automated message on my email.

The only reason i can imagine getting banned is that i was gifted a PVE code witch i was really enjoying,and the person who gifted it cheated/made something against the policy.

I Also made another account to see if i was able to play at least PVP but i get kicked out.

Reddit seems my last chance to bring me back to the world of Fortnite. I Have always been a fair gamer and i hope that Epic Games responds and helps me resolve my issue. Would be really gratefull if you could upvote.

Can we please separate Global and Trade chats?

Ever since I came back to this game from taking a break in December-January, its filled with the most cancerous trade requests constantly.

Global chat use to be so easy to find people to team up with. Now it feels impossible. Ive been looking for people to help me on Plankerton SSD 8 and 9 for 2 days now.

For a long time it looked like STW was dying. As big spending founder, this made me dissappointed, sad, bitter, angry, etc.

But then you did two things:

  1. Finally delivered on all the QoL stuff we've been begging for since early access began (inventory management!!!)
  2. HOVERBOARDS. OMG.

Hoverboards are wonderful. They solve all the movement/travel time issues, but more than that, they are SO FUN. The animations make me feel bad ass and I love jumping off ramps, taking tight corners with style, and in general feeling like Marty McFly's cooler cousin.

Thank you for not giving up on this game! The potential is taking longer to be realized than I'd hoped, but if you keep going like this it's going to be a huge hit when it finally goes FTP. Yay!

I'm writing a story about players who are sticking with Fortnite's Save the World PvE mode despite some mounting criticisms related to the game mode.

EPIC Husk Horde Mode

I really think Epic should implement some type of unlimited Husk zone/mode for every map. Where there is no time limit & just waves.. Ex. Choose your hero & BR style spawn into the map with nothing.. You get 15mins to gather weapons/materials & build before wave 1.. With 2 mins between waves.. Every wave Husks strength goes up by 3 from 5.. Build limit unlimited.. Same mechanics as a regular mission except we can play untill we destroy the whole city or forest or wherever we are & all die...... All BlueGlo Buff machines affects last 5mins .. BluGlo respawn every 10mins.. put in some good weapons for us & disable the ability to recycle anything so there will be no shortage of weapons.. show dropped weapons on map. Allow us to apply a 10 BlueGlo weapon buff that would last the whole match.. idrk about Xp/rewards but I really think it can work...

Any thoughts?

Please fix it. I don't want to have to be scared going next to a cliff. Lagging when someone joins, leaves and when day changes to night or vise versa. I never want to explore because of this. Sorry for the rant.

Game is too slow, I have a solution

If you played StW (which everyone here probably has)

There is ONE major problem casual and even some professionals face.

Time...

The game takes to long PER mission. It's always mandatory to take the 10 minutes. It's always mandatory to destroy the encampments missions and finish all of them.

I understand if the dev's want us to progress by getting materials. Ect ect...

But if it's to the point where I out level the husks insanely and don't want to wait to finish some of the missions even though there are 15 minutes left when I finish the encampment mission.

That's when it's a big problem...

Now my solution is easy...

dot dot dot

JUST MAKE AN EVAC ZONE

If all players or 3/4 go on it, mission ends

Is this good? Is the dragon tooth the same as the husk cleaver? Their base stats are identical so was just curious
