In Fallout 76 I'm probably gonna be a raider or gunner, not because I want to steal stuff, because even if you're playing the radio full volume, if you sneak, I just go "I must be seeing things" and leave.

Posted: 02 Sep 2018 10:24 PM PDT

We Reddit users should all try and get into 1 server when Fallout 76 releases and try to get as many keys as possible to just destroy the whole map.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:15 AM PDT

I'm a person who will always try to see how far I can go to break a game and do stupid shit. But it's not very easy when you are playing an online only game.

So I want to get as many people as I can in a server and just mess with every single thing.

Settlers have unlimited ammo

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 03:12 AM PDT

I've tested this. I've given settlers miniguns with 1 single 5mm round and laser rifles with a single fusion cell. They don't ever run out of ammo. So long as a settler has 1 round remaining you're good. My guards are now switching to fully upgraded gauss rifles. Thought I'd share since not many people seem to know this.

Everytime I go meet up with X6-88 to clear out Gabriel's raiders, he's always trying to shoot down a Brotherhood vertibird.

Seriously, for a synth, he's terrible at being disciplined.

Tattoo posts never do well here but I figured some of you would get a kick out of this. I'm sure you're all tattoo experts and will rip me to shreds about the line work and shading /s

Who here only brings one or two weapons with them.

I have a friend who only brings like a single weapon while I have like a million and use all of them super frequently.

Anyone here going to attempt to roleplay with others in Fallout 76?

What small things in Fallout make you think, "This is quintessential Fallout"?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 07:43 AM PDT

For me, it's the song I Don't Want to Set the World on Fire by The Ink Spots. It hits all the notes of what Fallout is. A great song in its own right, gives you the mid-20th century vibes, and is a subtle nod to the post-apocalyptic setting of the series without bashing it on the head; it feels like a love song before anything else. I just wish it would play in the Mojave Wasteland in New Vegas because exploring the world with that song playing is honestly one of my favorite parts of Fallout.

Does this letter from Vault-Tec confirm vaults in annexed Canada?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 01:34 PM PDT

Found in a mailbox in Big Town

Full letter:

Dear Safety-Conscious Citizen -

We are writing to inform you that your family was not selected for inclusion in your chosen Vault-Tec facility. Your deposit has been retained, and your application added to a waiting list for your preferred Vault. In the interest of your family's security in the event of a minor nuclear event, please consider relocating to one of these areas, where Vault-Tec facilities are available without a waiting list: For a full list of Vault-Tec facilities with available accommodations, in exciting locales such as Oklahoma and newly-annexed Canada, contact your local Vault-Tec representative! Vault-Tec wishes you and your family the best of luck in the uncertain future.

Is NV worth getting on PC with mods even if i have already played it a ton?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:12 AM PDT

I played NV endlessly on the 360. Everything the game has to offer i seen it at least 5 times through all my playthroughs and countless of YouTube vids. Yet I never played with mods. So is NV worth buying and modding despite already have played the game more than 1000 hours? Be honest. Will I just buy the game and get bored after 5 hours in and never play again or is the modded experience significantly a different experience?

My Vault 88 build.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 02:23 PM PDT

I was asked by a few people to post some pictures of my build, so here it is. https://imgur.com/a/6VnE1Sj

This was the first time I'd ever spent any length of time crafting in a game. I have to say that before Vault 88 came along, I didnt do anything but the bare minimum needed in any of the other settlements. For some reason the Vault 88 space just appealed to me so I went nuts. This is the final of 4 different attempts to make the Vault work logically. Enjoy!

My second experience with fallout4 only this time with all the DLC. Much better.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:19 AM PDT

So I bought fo4 at launch with season pass. I liked it but didn't love it. I couldn't get passed the dialogue tree and having to pick things where I didn't even know what was going to be said. I'm getting over it but anyways. I put the game down before completing the story. I got bored. Don't know why. This was before all the DLC dropped.

Fast forward to about a week ago. I jumped on an old save and I'm having a blast. I love the progression in this game. I'm currently high 50's and feel like I'm just getting started, it's great. Played nuka world for a short while without getting too far and decided to make my way over to far harbor only to do the captains dance and get introduced to atom. Loving it.

Fo4 is becoming my favorite fallout and I think it's because of the leveling system.

Does anyone know of a way to keep Brotherhood of Steel Soldiers from flying away from a vertibird crash?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 06:04 AM PDT

So as you know sometimes a Brotherhood of Steel Paladin will spawn in a vertibird wearing full power armor. I'd like to be able to crash the vertibird and get that sweet sweet power armor. Anybody know a console command or maybe a mod to stop the corpses from flying away in the explosion?

Now, I’m a broken man, broken by a disease of the mind. That disease broke me. I play the Fallout games as I found them therapeutic after a traumatic experience. I’m going to talk about a story from my life. I’m writing a story to deal with it.

Posted: 02 Sep 2018 09:22 PM PDT

I had fought the NCR at Helios 1. I surrendered first. Elijah said that he'd almost gotten that damn weapon working, but we all knew the truth, it'd never work. Elijah escaped Helios 1. I was a Paladin back then, I was barely 18. I commanded all of my fellow Paladins to stand down. We knew, we'd die defending that old bastard. I had decided to surrender. The NCR was actually quite nice. I said that if we get to bury our dead as we Brotherhood of Steel do, I will order all of them to accept the terms of surrender. We buried our dead. My comrades were all dead right in front of me. My father had lead a suicidal charge against the NCR. My mother, she was murdered by some Jethead back in 2260.

The NCR troopers let me carry my fallen friends to graves out in the Long 15. We buried them, without power armor. That was part of the terms. I'd lost my only friends to that war. Everyone I knew, loved, hated, all dead. That broke me as a person. The NCR actually let us go, no slavery, no exile. We just had to surrender our weapons. Those that had openly tried to kill everyone trying to escape were sent to prison. I as the highest ranking officer in my squad was respected. Hated, but respected. My friends had hated me for that surrender. Though many knew, if I didn't surrender, they'd all be dead. Some MP from Sac-City tried to kill me after the battle. Though I survived, I was injured. When a Ranger asked me what should be done with him, I simply asked that he not be put to death. He went to the NCRCF. I actually got my old power armor back. That Ranger actually said I could have it.

I was given one condition though, I never kill an NCR citizen with it. I'd actually never killed a person, I'd had people die in my arms, but I'd actually never killed. I surrendered because I couldn't bring myself to kill people. I prayed about it actually. Religion isn't something many people have in the 2280s, but I prayed. I walked on, in Power Armor, up and down old roads. It was hard, especially with Asthma. The air filter helped. Some thugs from the Legion saw a guy in Power Armor and nearly killed me. Though I talked them out of it. When I said the name "Edward Sallow," they just stopped. Stopped like Dogs, and ran off back to the fort and waited. I knew they'd be back. Though I knew what kind of men they were, slavers.

I hate slavery, it's an idea from a time before modern medicine or even before nuclear weapons. Edward Sallow's gang is meant to be followed by those with no free thoughts of their own. Anyone that follows that awful man should seriously reconsider their life choices. Now I actually went to Primm, on my way to New Vegas actually. I'd heard about Robert House running a city with power. I was curious, Some old Military records said something about him being "a crazy genius with too much clout." I knew that if he was alive, something must be wrong in the world.

I went to a Courier service and was asked if I could bring some fuzzy dice to New Vegas. Coincidentally I'd found some dice like what was described on the contact on the corpse of my dad. I showed the guy there, and he said that's it. What's odd is that he had other pairs of fuzzy dice. All from "ruins near San Francisco," he said. That set off alarm bells in my head. I knew about that place. I'd heard stories about some RobCo tower that had printed an advanced computer chip. Platinum Chip it was called. I vaguely remember what Elijah said about it "Some chip that controlled RobCo bots and made them stronger somehow." Then I saw this angry man wearing a Gas mask.

He looked at the contract list which had been filled out by a few other couriers who had come and gone. This guy was furious about some other courier being on the list. I had no clue who this person was. I talked to him and he said something about this Courier delivering a package that nuked the Divide. That was actually insane. Now I vaguely remember stories about this place. It was some communities that acted as trade routes between New Vegas and the NCR. I knew that there were a bunch of warheads there, but I didn't know they went off. Damned Enclave and their idiotic ideals. They should've died like the rest of Pre war America did, with nuclear war.

Ulysses went on for like 3 hours. He rambled for way too long. I tried to help him, but he was just saying random crap. I basically said, look if you want to talk about this, please find a doctor, and not me. He seemed bitter, but I understood his hate. It didn't make him right. Though I understood him. I'm concerned about what he's going to do to that other Courier though.

So on I went, I walked a few miles north, killed a few Deathclaws, and something hit me. It looked like a motorbike. Some idiot in a checkered suit was riding it. He looked like he was in a hurry, though he was heading to Goodsprings. I got knocked unconscious. Then Benny tried shooting me, but he couldn't kill me. I was in power armor after all. He just took those dice and left a note. "Sorry, but the game was rigged from the start." It was written in blood. Blood of someone with chems in their system, but human blood. I nearly died, I had sustained severe head trauma. Though that got treated. I was still hallucinating when I heard it, a shot in the middle of the night. I saw some Robot digging a corpse out of the cemetery. I was still walking as I need a Doctor. I had a scar on my chin. It was bleeding bad. I saw a doc in Goodsprings. Though he had another patient. Was that, the person from the Cemetery? They had some bandages on their head, but yeah that was the person I saw getting dragged down from the cemetery. Man, that Courier could probably use a few days to rest. I gave some stimpacks to Doc Mitchell, and got some stitches. That wasn't fun. Then I walked off towards the Mojave Outpost. I was OK with the NCR now, and my name was known there. I needed some supplies, then I'm headed to Shady Sands to settle down. I'll sell some booze, as I don't drink. Give some poor people some water.

Then I don't know actually. I don't fit in many places. Though I need to head north. People don't survive long in the Mojave. Heat kills people, and I don't want to die alone. Though I feel uncomfortable out here. It's unsafe with those Legionaries. I don't want to die without people knowing who I am. So I recorded a message on a Holotape. It was to an old friend who died at Helios 1. Poor kid got executed by a Paladin who didn't accept what was about to happen. I think I'm going to a place that's safe, and not glowing. I don't know where that is. Though I'll make it if I have to. The question I had to ask myself was "will I become what I fear?" I fear what this means for me as a person. Will I become the person I want to be, or will I be what I don't want to be. I pray that one day I'll actually help people like the Followers do, but I don't know what to do.

EDIT: I made a few spelling errors. Also poor grammar. I tried correcting it.

Do you prefer a baron wasteland or a lush wasteland?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 11:12 AM PDT

Realistically even in FO3 it wouldn't still be dead (I think that's what I've read. 100 years is enough for greenery) but regardless which do you prefer?

Realistically, How big would the cities and towns of fallout 4 be?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 01:54 PM PDT

I'm super bored and I started thinking about these things lol

Diamond City - Super disappointing for me, it's super small (Valentine mentions security doesn't go into a part of town during a quest but it's just one house lol) the outer parts of the field are empty including the seats. Would the entire field and seats be full of shacks in the real world? I think maybe diamond city would control a big area around the stadium too. I'm thinking a few thousand people

Goodneighbor - I don't know about goodneighbor I'm thinking a few hundred people maybe 500. Definitely would be expanded and more dense (I'm thinking a Brazilian slum)

The Institute - It seems really small to me, The synth you free in the Railroad quest mentions that he never saw the upper parts of the Institute and the scientists mention that they are always expanding. 1,000 people I think. maybe more

Settlements - Player settlements would be huge in terms of area ( Sanctuary, Spectacle Island, etc) I'm not sure about the population.

Libertaria - By far the largest raider group I have seen in the commonwealth maybe 50+ bloodthirsty maniacs

Nuka World - hell hole im thinking 100+ raiders probably more

Far harbor - Captain Avery mentions that people on the far side of the harbor are called "Dregs" but there's only that little girl and her brother. I think that implies that it's a big dock. 200 people?

Bunker Hill - Huge trader hub probably the second most populated area after diamond city.

What do you guys think of my wild guesses?

I have a question about Nuka-World

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 12:26 PM PDT

Basically, I am wanting to do all the quests for the achievements in the Nuka-World expansion and was wondering where the optimal place to save is that I can load back to afterward, so that I can still use Preston as a companion.
