Destiny - Mod Giveaway: Gambit Emblem Code Competition

Mod Giveaway: Gambit Emblem Code Competition

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 02:34 AM PDT

Alright alright alright,

This past week, the DTG Mod Team have been on their adventures and with them, they bring loot to share with those who demonstrate skills worthy of avenging Cayde-6

Gamescom and PAX West have been looted, the Prize: Gambit Emblem Codes.

These very generous Mod folk would like to challenge you in the ways of old and that challenge is GAMBIT.

On Saturday, September 1st a Gambit Free Trial will be available for 24 hours for ALL owners of the Destiny 2 base game, expansions not required for this Trial.

The Gambit Trial begins at 10am PDT / 5pm UTC and ends 24 hours later.

The Challenge

Show us what you're made of. We are asking you to provide us with your coolest Gambit video clips over the course of the 24 hour Gambit Trial. Multi Kills, clutch saves, high caliber teamwork and any footage which would warrant a 'THIS IS AMAZING' from Lord Shaxx.

In good sport, the competition will be open Saturday from Reset (when Gambit goes live) and will end the following Monday, 3rd of September at Reset. This allows you to enjoy the 24 hour trial, and gives you an additional day to gather up and enter your Submissions.

The Mod Team will judge each submission and vote on those who prove themselves the Kings or Queens of Gambit.

Do we have a deal?

You have 24 hours to impress the Drifter. Good Luck.

DTG Mod Team <3

This post will have comments locked until Reset time when Gambit goes live - Good luck out there!

To the level 2 Hunter that stole my heart

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:06 AM PDT

This post goes out to the bravest level 2 hunter I've ever seen. You most likely got the game for free this month with PS+ and you jumped into PvP with nothing but white starter armor and gear but you didn't let that stop you, no. You chased me with a terrible SMG that jumped more than a bull who just got stung in the nuts by a wasp but you didn't let that deter you. You kept swiping at me from far outside melee range but damn it you were gonna get me even if it killed you which it did numerous times. My hat is off to you, you brave magnificent son of a bitch and I look forward to running into you again in a couple weeks when you take your revenge.

Cayde was the reason why Xur showed up on the map and why we didn't need planetary resources for infusion.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:27 AM PDT

Cayde was busy behind the scenes each week locking up Baron's, locating and marking Xur for Guardians and making sure requiring planetary resources weren't required for infusion.

Uldren Sov is really going to pay now. I'm going to gather a bunch of Dusklight and infuse him into the ground.

Every time I start Strange Terrain and Zavala goes "Nokris, a dangerous Hive heretic..."

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:38 AM PDT

is up to no good

started making troubles in our neighborhood

he raised a little bit of hive and Vanguard got scared

and said you're going with your fireteam to clear out his lair.

I whistled for my ship and when it came near

the license plate said Whisper and it had spikes in the rear

If anything I could say that this ship was rare

But I thought "Nah, forget it, yo ghost, take me there!"

I pulled up down on Mars about seven or eight

And I yelled to Zavala "Yo holmes, Freehold later"

Looked at the entrance, jumped right in with the boys

To clear his throne with our sweet Gjallarhorns Wardcliff Coils.

The Drifter is using us! Open your eyes sheeple!

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:04 AM PDT

Gambit is awesome. But don't be fooled, the drifter is using us for his own secret agenda.

The opening of gambit there is something that looks like darkness in a cage. Why is it there?? What is it??? Why are we collecting motes? What is he using then for??

He's a genius actually. Using our love for crucible AND killing adds against us. Combining them into a sweet sweet new game mode. He's on to something and I want to know what it is. This drifter is not to be trusted.

Red legion invasion was an inside job.

With all the new people coming on I once again get to do one of my favorite things as a Warlock

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:43 AM PDT

Show the names of the guardians while traveling to the destination.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 07:56 AM PDT

This came up to me while playing pvp which now it feels awesome by the way.

With the new dlc, we are gonna get tons of items, among them, ships. So while traveling to a destination with your team maybe you are gonna see some cool ships that you want to inspect but you won't know who is the owner of that ship. This little detail helps to that situation and also it creates a more "MMO-game-type-feelling". But this is all my opinion, I want to know what really thinks the rest of you about this, It would be a nice addition to the game?

(The names I used in this image are from my fellow guardians.)

I got another Guardians' shirt and I hope I can get it back to them through here.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 01:11 PM PDT

I got my Triumph shirt in the mail today. Was really excited until I realized it wasn't mine. Size was right but the name on the arm was wrong. It's for a Killen5i3. So if anyone knows them or has a way to contact them let them and me know so we can get this sorted! Hopefully my shirt can get sorted back to me somehow too.

Gambit is fun, but there needs to be a solo queue playlist for Gambit

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:10 AM PDT

Queueing into 3 or 4 stacks as a groups of randoms not having comms is such a huge disadvantage. Add to this the fact that quitters are already a thing in this mode just turns me off from playing it.

First game of Gambit. Found a problem.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 10:34 AM PDT

Quitters.

My team was doing great and won the first round. Guy randomly leaves and we couldn't keep up. Is there join in progress for Gambit? If so, I believe it should occur more often so teams aren't left for dead because a random left.

If not, can join in progress please be added? Gambit is great, but our guy leaving was incredibly frustrating.

Edit: u/hewhocannotbememed69 and u/impossibleguardian also suggested having a penalty instead of join in progress. That should discourage quitters quite a bit.

Edit 2: Saw that slight buffs to players were also suggested as well. If done right, it could possibly ease the burden of teammates leaving.

Don't play Gambit if you're going to quit!

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 11:25 AM PDT

An hour in and out of 4 games I've had teammates quit in 3 of the 4 games. Playing all those 3 to the end and didn't get an additional teammate. Every match has been close and that teammate would have made the difference. STAHP!!! /Rant over

[Spoiler] Armor Guide - Certain armor perks are only available on specific pieces of armor

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 06:46 AM PDT

My apologies if this has already been stated, but in scouring Reddit and the internet for potential armor rolls it appears that potential armor perks are only available on specific types of gear. For example, if your hoping for armor to drop with Unflinching Sniper Rifle Aim, it looks like that perk is only available on chest pieces. That said, I've put together a brief guide on what can roll where. My Reddit editing skills are pretty atrocious so I apologize in advance for the formatting.

HELMET: Perk 1a - Targeting Perks. These boost target acquisition, accuracy, and ADS speed for a specific weapon (ex. Hand Cannons).

Perk 1b - Bonus Super Perks. These give a bonus amount of super energy when certain conditions are met (ex. Light Reactor gives bonus super energy on Fusion Rifle kills, which makes Telesto even more the besto).

Perk 2a - Weapon Reserves. These increase the amount of ammo you can carry for specific weapons (ex. Shotgun Reserves).

Perk 2b - Ammo Finder. These increase the drop chance of specific types of ammo (Kinetic, Special, or Heavy).

GAUNTLETS: Perk 1a - Reload Perks. These increase the reload speed of specific weapons or types of weapons (ex. Hand Cannon Loader or Energy Weapon Loader).

Perk 1b - Melee/Grenade Perks. These shorten your Melee or Grenade cooldown when certain conditions are met. So far I've seen Impact Induction, which shortens your Grenade cooldown when you damage an enemy and Momentum Transfer, which shortens your Melee cooldown when you damage an enemy with your Grenade.

Perk 2a - Weapon Scavenger Perks - these give bonus reserves for specific weapons when picking up an ammo brick of that type.

Perk 2b - Ammo Finder. These increase the drop chance of specific types of ammo (Kinetic, Special, or Heavy).

CHEST: Perk 1a - Unflinching Perks - These reduce flinching from incoming fire while aiming with that specific type of weapon (ex. Unflinching Sniper Aim)

Perk 1b - I haven't seen any other Perks in this column. Please let me know if there are any.

Perk 2a & b - Exactly like Helmet column 2 Perks - Reserves & Ammo Finder

LEGS: Perk 1a - Weapon Handling Perks - These allow you to have a faster ready and stow speed for specific weapon types (ex. Hand Cannon Dexterity)

Perk 1b - Class Ability Perks? - The only one I've seen is Outreach, which reduces Melee cooldown when using your class Ability. Are there other perks like this?

Perk 2a & b - Exactly like Gauntlets column 2 Perks - Scavenger & Ammo Finder

CLASS: I haven't seen any new class armor yet. Does anyone have any examples of what perks can roll on these?

TL;DR

Helmet = Hidden Hand, Super Energy, Reserves and Ammo Finder

Gauntlets = Reload, Grenade/Melee Cooldown, Scavenger and Ammo Finder

Chest = Unflinching, ?, Reserves and Ammo Finder

Legs = Handling, Class Abilities?, Scavenger and Ammo Finder

Class = ???

Gambit is going to need premade protection if it's going to succeed in the long-term.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 12:13 PM PDT

Right now, coming up against a group of premades in Gambit seems more punishing than it could be in any Crucible playlist.

The problem's probably exacerbated a bit by being matched with randoms who don't know what they're doing yet, but at the same time the impact coming up against premades can have on your experience is just not fun at all.

The gamemode is really going to need some proper premade protection for solo players if it's going to take off once Forsaken launches. If solo players come up against premades as regularly as I have and people I've spoken to have, it's just going to put you off playing.

Coming up against premades isn't a guaranteed defeat - I know people have and can coordinate as randoms to do it, but as time goes on it'll likely become more difficult as different strategies are established and premade coordination can truly pay off.

Shoutout to Benedict selling Midnight Coup the week before Forsaken

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 04:50 AM PDT

This was the ONLY raid weapon I was missing before Forsaken. I didn't really play D2 during CoO, and during Warmind I was just grinding EPs., so I missed the weeks Benedict sold MC. Either way I'm so happy that I don't need to grind Leviathan anymore without wanting to delete my character after getting 6 Conspirators in a row.

So the Heavy Attacks (shooty button) with Arcstrider no longer activate the Raiden Flux effect, only the Light Attack (punchy button) do... is this intentional?

Posted: 31 Aug 2018 09:10 PM PDT

Couldn't find it in the patch notes. Wondering if this is a thing now. Would rather it not be a thing. But thought I'd bring it up in case it wasn't a thing so people will know that it is a thing.

Edit: To be clear, I did test this. The Light attacks build stacks up to x3, but the heavy attacks don't. So if you use 3 light attacks then attack with heavy it's fine, but you have to make sure to use a light attack before the stacks vanish... I'm not trying to complain, but it does seem a bit overly complicated, and a bit counter-intuitive given the direction Bungie has taken in buffing exotics, not nerfing them.

Gambit is the reason Nightstalker was nerfed.

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 01:18 PM PDT

Legit it needed to happen.. I'm talking about Orpheus Rig getting nerfed in particular. If you could tether each wave, with multiple tethers.. it would be extremely broken and quite honestly boring.

Nerf was merited and I respect Bungies choice to do so.

However, its pretty amazing on the burn at the end against the prime and friends.

[Spoiler] How many Titles are in Forsaken and what are they?

Posted: 01 Sep 2018 08:27 AM PDT

Hunting through the API looking at the new Triumphs system I think I've found how many Titles will be available in Forsaken. Titles are little strings of text that will display next to your characters name to let others know you've achieved something hard or time consuming. It looks like Forsaken has 8 of these. Just a note: Triumphs can have sub Triumphs. So just because some of these have a few listed doesn't mean there can't be more. There's over 700 of them! You can see them all by going to https://data.destinysets.com/ and searching "Record".

PvP

You can see the seal for PvP HERE. It has 6 Triumphs attached to it that you need to complete. Clicking on them will show you more detail about them (going through all of them is outside the scope of this post). Once you complete these six items you will unlock a Record called Unbroken which has a title attached to it (split by gender, likely for localization). It's null or empty so you can't see what the title actually is, but a decent assumption is that the Title might share the same name as the Record... so if you're awesome at PvP we might end up see you with "Unbroken" next to your name.

Exotic Armory

You can see the seal for Exotic Armory HERE. It has 3 Triumphs attached to it that you need to complete. This one is pretty simple. Collect all the exotics in the game. Doing so unlocked the Golden Armory Record.

Destinations

You can see the seal for Destinations HERE. It has 19 Triumphs attached to it that you need to complete. This is do everything! Lost Sectors, Adventures, Heroic Adventures, Public Events, All Wanted Bounties, etc. All that things. This unlocks the Wayfarer Record.

The Dreaming City

You can see the seal for The Dreaming City HERE. It has 10 Triumphs attached to it that you need to complete. This one has some spoils so you might want to stay away. This unlocks the Cursebreaker Record.

Gambit

You can see the seal for Gambit HERE. It has 8 Triumphs attached to it that you need to complete. It unlocks the Dredgen Record. Interesting.

Lore

You can see the seal for Lore HERE. They actually showed this off in the Vidoc. There's 11 nodes that you'll get as you play Forsaken. It unlocks a Record called Golden Armory which isn't the title. This Title is confirmed to be Chronicler.

No Name

You can see the seal for No Name HERE. It's got nothing connected to it. When you complete it you unlock a Record called Shaxx.

No Name

You can see the seal for No Name HERE. It's also got nothing connected to it. When you complete it you unlock a Record called Classified. They hid this one on purpose so it's probably special. I imagine this might be the most sought after after Title in the game.
