Forsaken comes out tomorrow.. rejoice! Since a lot of us are going to be busy with the game, work, school, life, whatever you've got going on, here's exactly what'll be happening in this sub.

Week 1.

"Can we all just take a moment to thank Bungie for listening to the community and making Destiny awesome again!"

"This is what I'm talking about!! DESTINY IS BACK, BABY!"

"Let's pour one out for Cayde."

"Here's the steps for X quest"

"Try gun X.. it's insane!"

Week 2.

"I'm already max light. Bring on the raid!"

"Gun x is OP.. seriously, does Bungie even test this stuff?"

"What's everyone's raid prep/loadouts/plans?"

"Holy shit, this raid is VOG quality. I love it!"

Week 3.

"Can we stop it with the "Must have raid emblem in LFG groups"

"Unpopular opinion: I feel like Bungie never listens to us."

"After running it 100 times this weekend, I feel the raid is a bit of a let down. Do we think the hard/prestige mode will just be harder, or more complicated mechanics?"

"I really hope there's more secret missions like Whisper, because I'm getting a little bored."

Week 4.

"Seriously this is the last time I trust Bungie with my $$$. All they ever do is let me down."

"I demand Bungie fire Luke Smith."

"Petition to have Vicarious Visions take over primary D2 development."

"Guys, I loaded up D1 for fun yesterday and it reminded me of everything I loved about this game. Seriously, fuck D2."

Rinse/Repeat.

Twas the day before Forsaken.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 03:09 AM PDT

Twas the day beForsaken.

And all through the tower.

Everyone discussing how'd they increase their power.

Some would do strikes.

Others PvP.

Most will do the campaign.

Others wait and see.

As the dawn approaches we check our gear.

Filled with rage and just a touch of fear.

We push forward with purpose in our heart.

Knowing our goal from the very start.

To avenge our friend from the exo race.

Don't worry though, he's coming home Ace.

Perhaps someday we'll share that expired coupons meal.

With Cayde 6, NOT 7, that's the deal.

A voice long since dormant, finally give reason to speak.

But only at our vengeance's peak.

As per The old hunters vow.

With this piece of cloth, cayde is part of us now.

Plenty of loot and feels inbound.

One thing is for certain...

Uldren is going in the ground.

Edit: Which of you crazy bastards golded me? I appreciate it. I also appreciate all you. You're my favorite. I'm gonna do an edit at the first line for you dudes and dudettes.

Edit: check out u/Brightbluelightbulb, u/PieTPukka, u/strang_theory They made one Too! It's dope.

Edit: 1.1k upvotes in 2 hours. You guys are insane. I don't deserve this.

Edit: 3.6k upvotes in 4 hours now. I'm amazed. I'm replying to you all until I pass out. You guys see the dopest community. Even the salty ones who try to troll this post.

New Guardians on Consoles: If a fellow guardian is shooting at you, follow them to riches!

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:43 AM PDT

Hello and welcome to all the new guardians out there! Something to note: On consoles, we have no easy way of talking to each other. If you notice a higher level guardian shooting at you or otherwise doing strange things seemingly just to get your attention, they are most likely trying to get you to follow them! In the coming weeks, there will be many high level players hanging around in low-level areas farming chests for materials - so don't take being shot as we're just trying to bug you or show off our new guns - we want to share the wealth!

Good Hunting and Be Brave, Guardians!

Here's how I think the Inventory Screen should look like for Forsaken! [Dark Theme]

Title.

Here's a GIF showing the concept's progress, if anyone's interested.

Fellow Guardians...please be sure to take care of your health and diet during the coming weeks

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 12:33 AM PDT

Drink lots of water, especially when you wake up. Don't ingest lots of oils and fatty food since they can cause nasty headaches later in the day if not digested well. When you get that awesome loot drop feel free to stand up off your chair to celebrate! Let your legs have some fun too! Just because Cayde-6 loves spicy ramen doesn't mean you should eat those instant ones every day. Cayde liked gyoza too you know.

TL;DR - Drink water. Stand up occasionally.

So, we all expect Destiny 3 to just be Nolan North talking to himself, right?

At the rate that he's replacing characters' voices, I wouldn't be shocked if he voiced everybody in D3.

With random rolls returning my one piece of advice. Lock. Your. Weapons.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 04:22 AM PDT

Seriously. I do not want to come on here and see posts of someone deleting a god roll hand cannon on accident. And in case you are new or just don't know what I'm talking about, if you hover over a weapon or armor piece (I'm on PS4, xbox I imagine is similar not sure about PC) click the right stick. It locks said piece to prevent a tragic accident.

So save yourself the future heartache. Lock. Your. Weapons.

How Strong is the new Ward of Dawn, Exactly?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:21 AM PDT

With update 2.0, the Sentinel Titan's Ward of Dawn (Titan Bubble) received a pretty big buff - significantly more health and increased the amount of the Ward of Dawn overshield. So I wanted to find out...

How Strong the new Ward of Dawn Is. The short answer? Very.

Here's some fun facts about the Ward of Dawn!

Supers that are ineffective at Bubble-Busting are the Tether, the Stormtrance, the Dawnblade, and the Golden Gun (both six shot versions and Nighthawk versions will fail...for the record it takes 10 Goldie Shots to break a Bubble).

A Striker Titan using the top tree CAN theoretically break a bubble if you Fist of Havoc from way up in the air for more damage, and repeatedly continue smashing once inside...eventually the aftershocks will break the Bubble. That won't always work though, because it's not likely that the Titan inside is going to let you repeatedly smash & evict them that easily.

The Better Super Options are as follows:

  • Arcstaff: Risky, but doable. 4 Staff swings is enough to kill a Ward of Dawn Titan, 3 of your Arcstrider is using the Raiden Flux. Remember that they'll likely keep going in and out of the Bubble to try and re-gain health.

  • Hammer of Sol: Both trees work, but for the bottom tree you need to start throwing right away and the last hammer will break. Top tree is more effective, as the exploding hammers do more damage. It is possible to both break the bubble and kill the Titan inside using the Top Tree Hammers.

  • Nova Bomb: Absolutely shreds Bubbles. One nova is enough to both destroy the Bubble & the Titan inside, unless the Titan is crouching way at the opposite end of the Bubble that the Nova Bomb hits (so if you're the throwing Warlock, aim for the top of the bubble...easier to kill the Titan that way!) With the Top Tree Nova Bomb (Slowva Bomb), the resulting Void-seekers will force the Titan to run, or be killed by the seekers!

What if you are forced to challenge a Ward of Dawn, but you don't have your super? There's a few things you can try

  • Mortar Blast: is a melee option on the Bottom Tree for the Sunbreaker. It won't kill the Titan, but it makes little explosions when you land with your melee ability, and you can punch the Titan out of their Bubble. Be sure to kill them before they get back in.

  • The Tractor Cannon: Blast 'em right out of their Bubble, and they'll be suppressed to boot!

  • The Legend of Acrius: This is the best weapon to use on Titans in Bubbles by far. An Acrius has the killing power to punch through Armor of Light, Helm of Saint 14, and a Guardians regular health all in one shot. There were times during testing where Acrius damage was mildly inconsistent, leaving the Titan with just a sliver of health...but no problem at all! Just be sure to follow up your Acrius shot with a melee, just in case.

5 years of Destiny, and how my life changed for the better because of it.

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 09:20 AM PDT

I felt this was worth sharing considering tommorow is going to be the biggest day destiny has ever seen.

So it was about august of 2013, I was just being evicted out of my place because I had lost my job due to a lot of bad decisions that I had made including lots of drug use, partying, and also ending a super toxic relationship with someone that I thought I had loved. But hey I was only 21 years old and thought I knew it all (haven't we all?) So I was on my way back to moving into my parents house and I actually contemplated ending my own life because I truly felt that there was no hope left for me and that I have burned so many bridges with other employers that I would never get a decent paying job again.

Fast forward to 2014 after having a birthday come and go, somehow I scrounged up enough money to get an xbox one and a copy of destiny because it was a game that the friends I had left had recommended to me. I had put a few hours into the game thinking it wasn't anything special ( this is the vanilla experience remember) so I had put it down and continued the bad habits I had lost everything over. Nothing, and I mean nothing seemed like it would go my way in life and once again I had thought about ending things.

Then came along an old friend of mine who said he knew a good place to come work at, and that he'd get me in if I had wanted to. So I went to the place, and as it turns out, I knew the HR lady really well and was always good with her. She didn't even have me fill an application out, she just brought me out into the shop and had me talk with the supervisor. He said he would hire me and give me a shot. Finally it had seemed that things were going my way just a bit.

Fast forward to the year TTK came out. I had been working steady not making great money, but it was still steady which I felt was an accomplishment all in itself. Once I had seen the trailers and all the hype around TTK, I ended up picking Destiny back up, getting TDB and HOW, and I had joined a clan. This move was the moment that my life had turned around. I don't remember exactly how it happened, but we were raiding in vault of glass and it was my first time. I was having panic attacks and really stressing out big time which would cause me to choke the mechanics we needed to complete in order to kill Aetheon. Telling my clan that I would quit so that they could get someone better, they all came to my rescue telling me its okay and comforting me. It was the first time in such a long while that I had someone in my corner supporting me and I felt so good I started crying as a 22 year old male who thought he was tough as a bull.

After this had happened, things started to go even better for me when I had found out that my work really liked the work I was doing and decided to give me a raise. It was finally my shot at making some real money doing a job that I actually really liked, and naturally I went on destiny to tell my clan the good news and they were so supportive of me that I actually felt like I was on top of the world, a feeling that I haven't had in a very very long time.

Fast forward to today, I'm a supervisor at the same job I started 5 years ago making $80,000 a year and I have my own place again and everything is about as good as I can ask for. I honestly believe that playing Destiny has helped me get to where I am today because of all the great people ive met on the way. I would like to think that I grew along with the destiny franchise and without destiny I cannot confidently say that id be where I am today. I know this isn't the first story of someone making it back out of a big black hole because of this franchise, but with tomorrow coming It actually made me reflect back on the past. It was sort of like each destiny expansion was an expansion of myself. I would like to thank all the people that were there for me and also places like this sub. This community is one of the best around.

Have fun tomorrow guys, and sorry for such a long story but I really wanted to get it off my chest. Looking forward to avenging caydes death tomorrow!

Edit* Front page! Wow guys you are truly incredible! I'm overflowing with Joy! :D

Twas the night before Forsaken...

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 03:02 AM PDT

Twas the night before Forsaken

When all through the Reef, not a creature was stirring or gnawing their teeth.

The masterwork cores stored in their holes, In hopes of pairing with new God Rolls.

The Gunslinger was nestled all snug in deathbed, whilst visions of son, Ace, danced in their heads.

Ikora in Bazaar and Zavala by balcony, Guardians still farming for the EP Shotty.

When down from the sky descended a character, the Guardians looked up to find what was the matter.

Away to Gambit, we flew to The Drifer! Depositing motes and being called "sister".

Petra and Spider awaiting our presence, Barons scheming in their malevolence.

When in my invading, Ghost would appear, with Cayde's last transmat: requesting us "here".

With a slap and a punch, so heavy in weight, we arrived in a moment, but it still too late.

More powerful than Oryx, our new Supers shine, we fought Skorn and screamed: "Uldren Sov is mine".

As new secrets in Dreaming Cities lie, we will answer whispers, our light soaring high.

So go now, Guardians! Onwards to the Reef! Find and kill the Ace of Spades thief!

But here is to hoping, with all our might, that Forsaken will give us a satisfying fight.

Our good friend Cayde can die, you see, but we will avenge him. It is our Destiny.

This was fun to make! Always my favourite part of new content releases!

Edit: u/codemonkeyjay has a great be-foresaken poem too!

My 2 (worthless) cents about Gambit

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 05:22 AM PDT

I'm not an elite player. I don't excel in either PvE or PvP. I struggle at raids and i get wrecked in crucible competitive.

Me getting a Redrix Claymore would be as probable as a dog singing Frank Sinatra songs.

Having said all the above, and judging by my ~25 years gaming history (I'm a 42 years old casual), I can honestly say that Gambit is the most fun I've had in an FPS shooter since Halo 3 and CoD MW2.

Thank you Bungie. Thank you!

Is bungie aware that scout rifles are bugged in pve?

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 08:55 AM PDT

In pvp they are doing intended damage numbers, (unless they have explosive rounds, that is a confirmed bug which bungie is looking into)

But in pve they are much weaker than before. Their crit dps seems to be less than other primary weapons?

Anyone experienced this?

In honor of Forsaken, I rewrote the ending speech of RvB Season 12 in a destiny theme.

Dear Uldren; It has come to our attention that you have killed the Hunter known as Cayde-6.

We regret to inform you that this is a really shitty idea. Not only have you managed to annoy the fireteam that would fight alongside him to the end, you've also found a way to piss off every single guardian in the tower. Now they may not have the best tactics and they may like to dance around, but as you're aware, they've been fighting for a very long time. And now that you've killed their beloved Hunter Vanguard, they're more than happy to drop everything and spend all of their time to fighting you.

So dear Uldren, to you and your idiotic Barons, we would like to say: BRING IT ON, MOTHERFUCKERS! We're not going anywhere. From your friends, the incredibly badass and sexually attractive, Guardians of the Last City on Earth.

P.S.; suck our balls.

A visual red pointer laser whole charging won't change its performance in PvE at all. It'll still manhandle immortals.

And in PvP you can still cross map body fools, but they get a heads up they're about to get taken to pound town.
