PUBG IS DROPPING ON FACEIT

My best nade as of yet...

Eight tips to improve your playstyle - From a top 500 player.

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 04:54 AM PDT

  • 1 - Pay attention to how you are playing in the moment, don't "Phase out" and do what you'd normally do.

To expand upon this point, imagine you are commentating over your own gameplay. Take note of everything you are doing mentally. Focusing a point to much? Identify that and change accordingly.

The worst mistake you can make is trusting yourself to make the right call. You need to be your own voice of doubt. It's better to run away from a fight than to die in one.

  • 2 - Pay attention to your surroundings, and get used to identifying positions by sound.

One thing I use for training this is the following site ; https://www.pubg8x.com/gunfire?lang=english

You want to get used to knowing exactly where you are being shot from by sound alone. If you hear a shot whiz past your head, you want to be able to look to where the shot came from and identify high risk points.

Broken windows, sides of trees, tops of buildings, anywhere you would want to be if you were the shooter. The first step to winning a fight is finding out where your enemy is, the better you are at this, the better you'll be at Pubg.

  • 3 - Risk assessment.

You hear a massive gunfight in a compound nearby, what do you do?

Take note of your weapons, meds, grenades and assess if you'll actually stand a chance in those fights - No sense going up against a team with crate weapons if you only have a 1911.

After you have made this assessment, survey the landscape, are there any elevated positions you can shoot from, or anywhere you can fall back for cover if they notice you? If not, it might be best to leave it alone.

  • 4 - Hotkeys.

For the love of all that is holy, set hot keys for meds/grenades. Too many times have I died because I have accidentally clicked on the wrong med, or that few seconds that it took me was enough for me to be pushed.

The faster you can heal, the faster you can get back into the fight.

  • 5 - Leaning.

Get used to leaning around corners, or even in head-to-head gunfights.

The more your head moves, the less likely that you are to be headshot. Avoiding that much damage will often be what wins you the fight.

  • 6 - Looting.

Everybody knows a loot goblin. Most only need to look in a mirror to find one.

If you hear somebody nearby and you don't have a weapon, don't go for the medkits. Grab a gun and rip them a new one, then go back to looting. Sure that helmet might look tempting, but it won't matter if somebody is lining up a shot on you already.

And unless you need to, never loot in the top 10. It's a death sentence.

  • 7 - Stances.

Did you know that crouching reduces horizontal and vertical recoil equally to the vertical grip? And going prone reduces it more than a fully kitted M4?

Crouching should be your go-to stance in firefights, as its recoil reduction comes at a very low cost, that being, slightly reduced movement speed.

Going prone is a fine art, as doing it at the wrong time will get you killed, but doing it at the right time will allow you to easily wipe full squads like swatting a fly.

The right time to prone is when you have a visual on an enemy/group of enemies that haven't noticed you. Ensure that you have visual on the maximum amount of people (1 in Solo, 2 in Duo, 3-4 in Squads).

If you are confident in your abilities, simply prone, line up your shots and rip into them. Provided you were on target, either the entire squad or atleast half of it should be dead. That gives you the oppertunity to push on the survivors, finish off the downed, or retreat and reposition in the ensuing chaos.

Never, and I mean never, prone in a direct firefight, you will be dead before you hit the floor.

Pay attention to your surroundings and assess what stance is best for you at the time

  • 8 - Accepting defeat.

You won't win every game. Sometimes there are just too many random factors that you can't take into account. Dying should not be a point of frustration, it should be a point of learning. Take note of how you died, and you won't die to it again in the future.

Even the best pro players only have a 25% win rate, that means that the other 75% of the time, they get their ass beat. Accept defeat for what it is and try again, don't get angry, as that will only perpetuate any issues you have when playing. And when you spend too long doing the wrong thing, it makes learning the right thing even harder.

[Idea] Different door opening animations

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 12:22 AM PDT

Same principal as vaulting if you're sprinting your vault is a certain percent faster.

If you were to be sprinting and hit [open door] your character could bash through the door or something similar, while also creating a huge amount of noise. If you were to be walking or crouch-walking your character would open the door slowly and it'd have a small amount of nose like the sound of knob or the hinges of metal doors, I just though I'd throw out this idea. Because I feel like when in a situation where you're trying to be quiet you can't open a door without letting everyone and their mom know you're there. Like sneaking into your own house at 2am you open it slowly so you dont wake up the neighbors with your loud ass door opening

If someone would like to elaborate or have better terms for gameplay wise feel free to leave any ideas

Can someone explain to me the grips?

Posted: 15 Aug 2018 10:58 AM PDT

I've been playing this game since the beta and have been used to the angled(spraying)/vertical grip(tapping). After the new grips were added I stopped playing as much and got really confused about which grip is best in which situation. Can someone explain to me what grip to use on which gun/specific situations?

The worship, misunderstanding or overthinking of Tencent and PUBG's relationship has to go away.

Posted: 14 Aug 2018 06:56 PM PDT

Q: Why did Tencent buy 10% of PUBG Corp.

A: Tencent is just doing its job as a large Chinese investment company. You can also see Tencent's logo in a lot of Hollywood movies too.

Q: Will the acquisition make PUBG better?

A: Not likely. Tencent has invested a lot of companies (51% of Epic, 5% of Ubisoft, 100% of Supercell and Riot, and possibly a small part of Activision, Nintendo, Nexon, and Capcom). The point is that Tencent just did the investment for the profit and he usually didn't step into their game development. (Tencent had convinced Nexon to make an exclusive version of Dungeon Fighter Online for Chinese region, and this is more likely because this game is only popular in China now)

Q: The investment has to change something right?

A: Probably YES. After Tencent signed a deal with Activision, Call of Duty series was region locked and pulled off from Steam Chinese region. So Tencent can make Call of Duty Online (a special version that only runs in China, with creepy graphics and p2w features.) Since Tencent already signed the deal with PUBG Corp to run PUBG in China, it's just a normal action for Tencent to buy some stake from them.

Q: What about the Chinese government?

A: Chinese government can't touch oversea companies, which means you don't need to worry about losing your personal information by playing League of Legend.

Q: How good is Tencent at developing games?

A: Tencent barely made worldwide popular games, but their games did very well inside China, mostly because Tencent is single-hand controlling all the social software in China and has a large number of loyal customers that other foreign game developers could only dream of. Tencent had made a lot of p2w shitty copycat games but turned them into money printers. These kind of games are unlikely to survive outside China.

Q: Can Tencent help PUBG Corp by sending out "good developers according to redditors"

A: As I said Tencent barely stepped into game development of the companies they purchased. I'd say, NO. Tencent will be more likely to hire good developers to help its local PUBG running.

Q: Is Tencent good at Anti-Cheat?

A: Technically yes but the cheating problem in PUBG is more because of bad and unprotected code. Tencent's own games have a looooooooot of cheater too and players are still criticising Tencent for adding the anti-cheat software "Ten-Protect" that significantly slow down the game performance and system stability.

Q: How strong is Tencent connected to CN gov?

A: Ironically, Tencent is just a puppet of CN gov. They grew large with the help of gov, and did the investment for the gov, which is totally fine. But Tencent can also be smashed by gov: Tencent made a deal with Capcom to run Monster Hunter: World in China on their own game platform WeGame, but it was taken down only 1 day after the launch due to censorship and reports from citizens (LMAO). Tencent also planned to run R6 but it was censored due to the word "Rainbow" is related to LGBT which is strictly banned in China (LMAO x2). As you can see right now, Tencent hasn't been able to get a license to run PUBG as a result of the ban on all Korean games due to Chinese and South Korean's conflict over THAAD.

tldr. Tencent is just doing an investment like other big Chinese companies (Alibaba, Netease, Gov-owned Oil companies, etc). It won't influent PUBG that much as redditors' imagination.
