Official Boomsday Prediction Contest | Win a "The Boomsayer" custom flair!

With the release of The Boomsday Project coming in just a few days, it's time for a competition!

Predict the most impactful cards (cards that see the most play according to hsreplay). After 50 days (September 20th), we will check the statistics on hsreplay and VS Data Reaper Report and see who won!

Rules:

The criteria for determining what card is most impactful is "In % of decks", which means that the topmost card(s) on this list (but for Boomsday of course) will be counted towards the contest.

If the meta changes due to a change to some cards, the contest will end the day before the changes.

The winner is the one with the most correct answers after 50 days. I have once again checked with the mods, and the winner will be getting a custom made flair just for this occasion as "The Boomsayer".

More rules are described in the form above, such as tiebreakers. Deadline for entering the contest is when the Boomsday Project is released. Any submissions after release will not be counted.

Good luck, and may the best Boomsayer win!

Edit 1: A lot of contestant flowing in. That's great! Don't forget to bookmark the thread as I will be updating this every now and then with some stats and ways for you to check what others have guessed!

Anyone else disappointed by Whizbang from the reveal stream?

I was very disappointed when I watched Day9 and Mike make a Whizbang deck and then start a game with him. Apart from the collection screen, you never see Whizbang again, once the game starts there is no animation for Whizbang, no change in the hero portrait, nothing to signify that you are playing a whizbang deck. I thought it would have been cool if Whizbang became your hero portrait except he would cosplay as whatever class you were playing as at that same time. Whizbang is a really cool card but he might as well be a button on the collection screen that says try a premade deck.

Greetings!

The Boomsday Project is only days away and we have now seen every single card that will be released with the launch of the expansion. A new set of cards along with the rotation that comes with the new standard year is sure to completely change the metagame picture.

What are the most powerful cards of the set? Which classes will rise and fall as a result? Which new archetypes will emerge? How will Dr. Boom and the returning mech tribe shape the field? Just how good are the legendary spells?

Give your opinion in our pre-expansion poll for STANDARD LADDER.

5: Meta defining (Dominant, either as a build around card, or a staple across various decks) Examples: Shudderwock, Baku the Mooneater.

4: Very strong (Strong card that will definitely see play). Examples: Houndmaster Shaw, Lifedrinker.

3: Decent (Has potential to see play, solid). Examples: Mossy Horror, Witchwood Piper.

2: Weak (Situational, niche, doubtful playability). Example: Baleful Banker, Witch's Cauldron.

1: Terrible (Unplayable, will not see the light of day): Example: Deranged Doctor, Gilnean Royal Guard.

You don't have to rate all the cards as all the questions are randomized, but feel free to do so anyway.

While we do these polls mostly for fun, it gives us the opportunity to look at how the community evaluates cards and identify factors that cause them to be overrated or underrated. As long as interest continues, we will do them for each upcoming expansion. Over time, this will give us a good frame of reference and allow for an intriguing look into the past and how cards were evaluated at the time of their release.
