So like many, I'm sure, I hopped over to WoW for the new expansion. I was stoked. During Legion I got my character to 110, got to 940ilvl a long time after the expansion came out, since then the game has been collecting dust. But not this time, this new expansion looks awesome.. I thought.

I've played BfA for all of 3 hours and I'm already logging back into GW2. It took me all of 30min to remember why I prefer GW2, it took me another 2 hours and 30min to just get sick of WoW all over again.

I'm sorry I cheated on you GW2, I swear this time I deleted her number.

Weekend Events - Imagine The Possibilities?!

We just overtook the 10k mark in the Boss Blitz - Wow! Like many others, me and my guildies have tried to help in this goal by working away tirelessly on this achievements, and guess what: we had a HUGE amount of fun! Running competitions to see who got the most kills in an hour time, playing the Queen's Pavilion together, it was generally the most fun I've had in GW2 for quite a long while.

So why stop here? Why not expand this into a monthly thing? The possibilities are endless, and if we combine this with other weekend events we've seen in the past, we can do so much more other stuff in-game instead of the daily grind like Fractals or Raiding! Here are some examples of things we could do, together:

  • Like another reddit thread said, we could do Weekend events in which we have to kill X amount of Risen or Mordrem, and get rewards according to how many we've killed collectively.
  • X amount of players participating in a specific world boss, with said world boss having a chance of dropping a new, extremely rare item (like an Aura, or armour piece), which would make killing the boss even more exhilarating since there would be a chance to get a new rare, high-value item! If X amounts of players has been reached, we all get a rewards as well. It could be tiered, too.
  • Dungeon Run Weekends, in which specific dungeons drop more tokens or have better drop rewards from the monsters in the dungeon themselves. They could balance this to be Silverwastes or Istan-level, so that they're rewarding enough to run for an entire weekend. It also opens up older content to so many other players that haven't ever done it before!
  • WvW / PvP boost weekends: reward tracks get double points!
  • Raid weekends: You can re-complete a specific raid wing for up to 3 times in this weekend, getting all rewards included!
  • Crafting Weekends: Every time you get a drop, you get a chance to get a crafting material - the highest level monsters can even drop ascended-tiered crafting materials! This would be balanced by also introducing new vendors that can sell crafting materials into new rewards, such as very old Gem Store skins that saw little to no profits in sales! The cost of these items would be high enough to compensate the influx of new crafting materials. Also, double crafting XP!

Additional suggestions:

  • Chak Gerent Bonanza weekend: Bosses spawns every hour (instead of 2), preevents harder, boss have chaks supports him (healers, damage mitigation, speed ups and more!), x5 drop rates of currency, chak eggs and ultra rare category. If target goal achieved, permanent buff to boss drop rates (x2, affect only 1 chest per day).

Why are they your favorite or most hated?

My favorite: Shattered Observatory because it's very thematic, nice boss fights, zero gravity, cool mechanics and nice ending scene. Twilight Oasis and Cliffside is pretty nice too just because I like how thematic they are.

My most hated: Molten Furnace, fire fire fire it's just kinda boring

Are we ever going to get a fix/an animation which is actually appropriate to the skill?? It still uses the necrotic grasp animation, and it just looks so clumsy. The old animation was so many worlds better it might as well have been in another universe.

Spice up your GW2 experience with some GW1! We are a new & returning players GW1 community and are looking for more players to join our guilds, play the stories again and work on the hall of monuments together.

We have right now 3 community guilds. One Luxon and two Kurzick, one of the Kurzick guilds has now 100 players. Our community discord has about 600 players.

The guild and community is about 8 weeks old. The goal for us is to enjoy the game together like in the old days.

New To Reddit!

Alright hows it going every body! Xalonus here, and honestly I need some help. I like to make youtube videos. I've never posted on reddit and never really used it. I posted a video yesterday on reddit at the advice of one of my viewers. I'm not huge on self promotion. Awhile later I wondered if what I did was generally ok. So I did some research and found out that it is not.

I dont want to use reddit as a billboard. What I really want to do is build a community and get to know the people around me. I want to connect with my viewers and always make content that is entertaining. I just really need help understanding reddit more.

Teamspeak verification through GW2 API

Hey friends. I recently got hip to how some some servers are utilizing the GW2 API to automatically verify users on WvW Teamspeak servers. I experienced this on Fort Aspenwood's TS, but I believe Blackgate and some others are also utilizing it.

I want to set this up for the Teamspeak I run, but I have no idea what the tool is called, where to get information on it, or how to configure it. Do any of you have some insight on this that you can share with me? Thanks for your time! <3
