Daily Milestone

Daily: Iron Banner: Complete 3 challenges in the Iron Banner.

  • Avenger - Defeat 5 opponents who recently defeated you or a teammate.
  • Death Averse - Complete a match with a personal efficiency rating greater than 1.0.
  • Advantageous - Defeat 10 opponents while controlling at least 2 zones.

Bungie, why does Arcite 99-40 say “that smell when you crack heavy ammo open - sublime” when you took away our heavy and gave us power ammo?

It's a great line that cracks me up every time, but yo...what the hell, man?

PS - obligatory "bring MGs back please" so that the line makes the most sense...the actual smell of a crate of belt-fed ammo being opened is literally sublime.

Edit: thrilled to hear that it's going back to heavy ammo this September. Now if we can get each ammo pull to drop for everyone in the vicinity...

Can Patrols start tracking progress immediately after picking it up, rather than having to wait for the progress box to appear on the side of the screen?

Just a small suggestion, probably insignificant suggestion. It's kind of annoying sometimes to pick up a patrol and have to stand there in front of a group of enemies for 6 seconds waiting for the animation to happen so you can get on with the finishing the patrol.

Almost 2 Months ago i came across this brave guardian in the exodus crash strike.

2 Months ago i wanted to finish the strike milestones, so i started the heroic strike playlist. After i joined the strike, i immediately saw that i was in the exodus crash strike. I thought for a second: Should i leave, or not? Then i decided to stay, because i haven't done the strike in a while. The next thing what happened was that i couldn't join the fight, because i glitched out of the arena and stucked behind the barrier which prevents you to go back.

I don't know which modifiers we had, but one of them was blackout. After almost 20 minutes, the strike was done. I immidiately checked the time they spent in the strike, and was shocked how long one of the guys stayed in this particular strike.

He stayed for 1h and 18 minutes in the strike!!! I send both teammates a message, because i didn't know who stayed for so long in the strike, and asked why they stayed for so long

His answer was:

I'm thanking you for not leaving the game. That boss is too complex with those modifiers

HarteX94, if you read this, i will never forget you. You are a true and brave guardian.

I recently gave Blink a try on my Voidwalker, and it feels utterly awful to use

(For context, I am a PvE player)

Blink just feels straight up awful to the point of being unusable. It's as if Bungie took a cool concept and added as many anti-fun or counter-intuitive things to it as they possible could.

  • It doesn't go where you're looking. When I think of short-range teleports in first-person games, I think "I will teleport exactly in the direction I am looking, up to a maximum distance". Instead, I get "I will teleport according to my current momentum", which means that the jump ends up with worse reach than Hunter triple jump if you removed the third jump. Some jumps become actually impossible with Blink because of this.
  • It frequently flat out doesn't work. Every single gap I jump is a life-or-death wager on whether Blink will decide to work. If I hit the jump button twice, all my glides activate just fine. But Blink seems to have some sort of cooldown, and it doesn't seem to be consistant. This compounds with the above effect so that using Blink for any sort of platforming period is effectively impossible.
  • The HUD disappears for like 3 seconds. Not just the radar. The entire HUD. Whoever greenlit this should be shot. It's infuriating. The 1-second radar lockout after unscoping is bad enough, but to have your ENTIRE HUD removed for that long after doing your double jump is flat out garbage. This being a thing is utterly baffling. No other jump does this.
  • Weapons take forever to ready when coming out of Blink. There's a small, bordeline-acceptable weapon ready lockout after doing normal double jumps. Then there's the massive weapon ready lockout coming out of Blink because you have to wait for the teleport animation to finish. I want my "blink into the air and rain down Wardcliff" fantasy. I want my "teleports behind you and slices you in the back" fantasy. Instead I get "maybe teleport, maybe don't, but if you do it's probably not where you wanted and you're left blind and disarmed for a bit".

ALL of these things need to be fixed for Blink to even begin to be competitive with other jumps. It should go in the direction you are facing, it should work 100% of the time, it should NEVER remove your HUD, and it shouldn't disarm you for as long as it does.

Even then, it will at best have the same vertical reach as other jumps, worse horizontal reach, and a higher skillcap to use. The only thing going for it will be that it is more fun and you can move more quickly, and fun is what this game is sorely lacking. .

This is how it was in D1, that chance something great would drop before you had enough rank to buy it, was a really great system. Guess some believe in fixing something that isn't broken I guess. Seriously, enough with the trash drops. If you want to shower us with trash, at least do it with materials so I don't have to waste more time deleting, thank you.

There should NEVER be anything that doesn't change color when a shader is applied

I know I've seen people complain about this before but I had to bring it up again. Everything should change color when I put a shader on. I shouldn't be forced to match a shader to the part that won't change. There are plenty of examples of this but even the little ball on the Ophidian Aspects drive me nuts. I thought we figured this out in D1....but Bungo.

Bungie plz: easy but significant console QoL request

The inventory screen loads painfully slowly. In a game where we're encouraged to change our inventory around to suit the situation, it's important that we can quickly access our inventory. Watching PC streamers makes me green with envy at the ease with which they can switch around weapons/armor/sub-classes.

The solution: Have the character preview load AFTER the inventory, instead of concurrently with it.

This should improve loading time, as the game won't be trying to load all the textures/models for the character render whilst loading the inventory icons.

I know it takes a while to get console updates out, but any improvements to loading time (especially for the inventory) would be greatly appreciated by your console playerbase!

Thanks for the otherwise fantastic game. Please let us know if you're considering this change so we know to stop begging :-D

Edit: I play on Xbox One, and I've heard it's slightly better on Xbox One X. I imagine it's just as bad on PS4.

The only time I've found enough people I was way underleveled and we just got to level 6, than a couple of guys left us and we obvioulsy failed.

But now I really don't ever find more than a couple of blueberries starting EP for Catalyst farming and stuff like that. Is EP still a thing?

A pre 1.2.3 patch patchnote -note.

Had a hard time remembering what would be implemented 17.07.2018 that made me excided for that specifik date, so i went on a small hunt. It turns out theres been a lot of hints/leaks? the past month(s?) - So i did what any lazy destiny player would do, made a copy / pasta gathering from different reddit post and so on.

Strike Catalysts will be given a slight adjustment to drop chances in Update 1.2.3.

The Skyburners Oath Catalyst will also be given a slight adjustment to it's drop chance in Update 1.2.3 as well.

Both adjustments will help these catalysts to appear a bit more often, but we want to make sure these rewards don't drop too often, thus removing incentive for players to reengage with Strikes or Raids.

With Update 1.2.3, we'll be adjusting Escalation Protocol Weapon Reward chances to be more deterministic. What does this mean? Players improve chances each time they defeat the EP boss.

In Update 1.2.3, we're adding the ability to preview Sparrow contrails and Spawn FX from inventory.

Commas will be added to large numbers as separators on the IGCR and PGCR.

Fixing the recoil for West of Sunfall 7 and the Trials hand cannon A Cold Sweat.

Once Destiny Update 1.2.3 is live, the Exotic Catalyst for Sturm may be earned by defeating enemies on Nessus.

Momentum will be removed from Heroic Adventures in Update 1.2.3

Once all Mercury Forge weapons have been obtained, they become available for direct purchase from Brother Vance in the Lighthouse after Update 1.2.3 ships

After Destiny Update 1.2.3 ships, Iron Banner events will use Iron Temple fire pits as capture zones, instead of Control Flags. (Not this week's event, but those taking place after)

Game booting into a black load screen, please help.

I select my character like normal, than the game puts me at a black screen. I can open my map and menu (the sound effects will play) but they wont appear, just the black screen, i can also hear background music. please help me out?
