Add an option "full view" to each armor type when inspecting

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 08:36 AM PDT

So the same screen we see when inspect an emote. Can we use that to inspect any armor, so we can see how the armor looks with a full view on our character?

Example image

The button that I used, is by way of example, but it can be any. I'm sorry for the language I use in the images, I'm a Spanish-speaking player.

EDIT: I want to add that since it is a tool that is already in the game, it is more likely that developers can make these changes more "quickly". Faced with a totally new feature that would take more time to develop.

PS: I am NOT a developer, but I consider these changes or suggestions in this way because I saw that they do the same with other features. As an example, decrease the time that a patrol beacon is activated. It was something that was within reach of their hand. A change that they applied quite fast and the game experience improved a lot.

EDIT 2: Front page!!! thank you all guys for leaving your support/comments/experiences.

I only chose DO for the Catalyst, I will always be New Monarchy at heart! Catalysts should have be tied to Faction rank level not specific Faction.

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 07:40 AM PDT

I guess by this point, what difference does it make? I suppose this is more for the future. Since D1 I have primarily thought of my Guardian as a supporter of NM. Since the launch of D2 and its Faction Rallies I again supported NM. I imagine though, that like me, many Guardians found themselves pledging to Factions they didn't support purely for the Catalyst they were chasing. I think what Bungie could have done, given that there are three Catalysts and three Faction Rallies in Season 3, why didn't they just allow us to choose whatever Catalyst we wanted when we hit Rank 50 during each weekly Rally? I just don't want the Catalyst, I would have liked to have earned the new NM ornaments and gear/weapons. I still have one more Rally to go to pledge to NM but I would have rather just been with them from the start. That Graviton Lance "carrot" though was just too tempting. I appreciate Bungie wanted it to be a "meaningful choice" pledging to a faction but it still would have been given that I can only pledge to one Faction account wide.

Anyways, not complaining about the Rally itself. I have enjoyed the grind and the chase but the Catalysts could have been a reward for hitting certain Rank levels with your chosen Faction and not tied to a specific faction itself.

I would like to actually play along side cayde instead of just a cutscene of him being badass or something

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 09:53 AM PDT

We all know they'll probably make a cutscenes or scripted sequence of cayde doing something super cool or badass before he gets killed.

I'd like instead to actually play with cayde through the level instead. A little bit more than the zavalla thing at the beginning. I'm sure they can't script and animate a guardian ai before the dlc, and whatever it's gonna play out as is probably set in stone.

Idk I just don't want to see cayde say hi, he runs through a direction I can't go, shows up and shoots some things, then runs off again, all up until he gets a cool cutscene then gets his exo brains blown out. The whole time he's just cracking jokes in my ear.

Make Golden Gun fun again (in PVE... suggestion and discussion)

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 06:53 AM PDT

I was sherpa-ing someone through SoS last night with my raid team, and we wanted some hunters. One of my clan-mates quipped, "Ok, so I'm gonna bring Golden Gun," and we all laughed. But it got me thinking...

What happened to my Gunslinger? My first ever character and subclass in all of Destiny has been pigeonholed into PVP, or worse, the most BORING PVE CLASS IN THE GAME. Not only are you basically handcuffed to Celestial Nighthawk if you want to be productive, but that very exotic makes the actual gameplay experience WAY BORING. You just sit there with a full super bar, not wanting to spend your one shot until the boss comes, and then boom its over.

Sure it helps the encounter, but that's not my point. It's boring.

I have a quick and dirty suggestion that came to me during Phase 2 of the Val Kilmer fight. We could for example take the 6-shot GG super, and have it "ramp up damage" for each quick successive hit ON THE SAME TARGET. Sort of pulling from the themes of Winter's Guile and Polaris Lance. And if you get all 5, the 6th goes BOOOOOM. Since it would have to be on the same target, it wouldn't really have an impact in the crucible (a good thing), and it would also allow for Golden Gunners to have some FUN with their super, and use other exotics every once in a while. I know not perfect, but it's a start?

I know people may jump in with "but GG is OP if you do DIS!" but it's just un-fun for me. Come on, in PVE if you're not using Celestial with GG, you're kind of trolling...

Edit: Maybe the answer even lies in an old whisper I think I heard from months past. Once an exotic get's to be "mandatory," and basically impossible to take off (i.e. Celestial, or Twilight Garrison...) put it in a sublcass tree? Free us up to use the other fun stuff you've created?

Anyways, super pumped for Forsaken!

The armamentarium synergises really well with the sentinel sublclass

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 02:38 AM PDT

While the sentinel is often overshadowed by the sunbreaker and striker, this exotic does help it a tad bit. Not only does it give an additional grenade charge, but it also allows you to have two shield throw charges on top tree sentinel.

Since the shield throw ability is tied to your grenade charge, having this additional benefit is pretty nice allowing for both dual grenades and shield throws. Think this makes top tree sentinel worth trying out IMO

The Journal of Cayde-6

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:29 PM PDT

The Journal of Cayde-6 in chronological order (ish).

Cayde as a Human

—so there you have it, Ace, that's why I did what I did. I had no choice, really. It was that or the great beyond. Just know your dad did what he had to do if I ever wanted to see you and your mother again. You probably won't recognize me, since I'll be, well, a robot and all, but I'll find you, I promise—

—what can I say, I was just in too deep, Ace. I had to do something. For your sake, above all. I had lost any hope of cashing in, and to be honest, that big payday wasn't coming, not with the jobs I was finding, so when I got word of what was going on out there—

Cayde as an Exo

—couldn't tell you what it was, Ace, but it was trying to seize control of me, like I was nothing but circuits and steel. Didn't know who it was messing with. I guess the moral of that story is never fall asleep near anything marked with that symbol—

—This has been fun, I guess. But it will all be gone tomorrow. I have been what they call "compromised," which is funny because I feel fine. Could use a few upgrades, but what Exo couldn't. But "compromised" means they are going inside my brain to wipe it from my memory. Met an interesting fellow Exo who leaves letters like this in caches, so whatever she gets saddled with next, she might come across one and take a trip down "lost memory lane." Ace, know that when I find you, I will never let them find me—

—This Ishtar gig is pretty wild, even for a lughead like me. Get it, Ace. Lughead. Come on. I'm trying. I'll get some better jokes, I promise. I knew I was here to secure some top-secret thing in the jungle, but I saw it today. They dug up the remains of a technological civilization that actually predates humanity. Don't tell anyone I told you, or you know, could be wipesville again.—

—Whatever's going on down there, Ace, they don't want folks to know about it. But that's the job, so I'll do whatever it takes to find out. Might need a disguise. Hmm? Any ideas, Ace? Ooh! I know! How about a mustache?—

—Things are even weirder now, Ace. This is my fourth assignment, and I am kind of losing touch with what came before this whole Exo thing and what's a leftover fragment from another tour. I knew this would have had its kinks; I guess this is one of them. You know me, I didn't bother reading the fine print, or anything. At least I know, you're real, right?—

Cayde as a Guardian

—Here's the truth, Ace. I don't remember you. Found your name in a journal I had on me when my Ghost rezzed me. I guess I used to write to you? And I kept doing it. Even though you're long dead, if you ever really existed. Just liked having someone to write to, I guess. So there you have it. Now, you'll never guess what happened today, Ace—

—what can I say, Ace, you should've seen me. I got each and every one of them out of there. That gang of Fallen raiders, gone, courtesy of yours truly. I can get used to this superhero stuff. Even got a few big wet ones from these really cute twins. DO NOT tell your mother—

—Gotcha, Tevis! You scoundrel. Caught you red-handed! I knew it as soon as I saw that Ice Breaker on your back. I know where I left it and I saw those awful etchings you can't help but carve into trees. So put it back and walk away from this one, and whatever you do, DO NOT read my notes. Well, read this one but that's it! Nothing else!—

—and if you see Satomi, make sure she knows the deal. Speaker thinks he's onto something, and those Arcstriders know every Dead Zone. And Cayde, don't make me remind you again. You lost fair and square. When you come back, this seat is yours.

Your old pal and soon-to-be-relieved boss,

—Andal

Cayde as a Vanguard

—so I thought the Reef would hold some answers for me. They've got some kind of Queen out there who knows things. But getting to her is proving to be quite the jaunt. She's got me chasing Vex all across the system looking for something called the Vault of Glass. Whaddya say, Ace, ever heard of it?—

—Here's the skinny, Ace, never trust the Awoken. The Reef type. The ones back on Earth, they're ok. But if you ever find yourself washed up in the Reef, keep your distance. They play by a whole other set of rules, like they want to be untrusted. And whatever you do, do not stare into their eyes—

—I've tried everything, Ace. Tried re-rigging my Ghost's shell every which way, making a deal with Variks for one of his captured Ghosts, even thought about following Ikora to Io, then it hit me. I can end this real quick by hopping right on Gary's ship via some Vex trickery. So here I am. Nessus, my own little Vex playground. Here goes nothing—

I should've paid more attention to you, Ikora. My brain usually checks out when the words have more than three syllables. Who would've known you can't shoot your way out of a Vex teleporter? When I get out of this mess whaddya say you lay some Vex schooling on me?

—so here I am again, back in the EDZ. I know, I know. I said I would leave the Shard alone, but there is something about it. I am not the type that goes fishing for answers, but it feels like this place holds them. Like the Traveler is trying to tell us something. Ahh, what am I talking about, its probably just all those Arc storms messing with my insides—

Bonus: Cayde's Treasure Island Entries

Cayde as a Human

Floating in the black

I've been listening to nothing but my heart knocking for over twelve hours. EMU's low on air. I promise myself this job is the last. Promise myself this time I mean it.

I feel the hull vibration through the station's thin metal skin. The airlock pump hisses. Long wait's over. [Clovis Bray insignia pencil drawing]

Time to go to work. I'll spare you the gory details.

Afterwards, fuming. Clovis Bray sends me a bill for the hull damage. My fault the target put a blast wall between us. My fault things went wrong and we had to let our rifles do the talking.

I tear the packet open. Tattered pieces of the envelope drift to the floor. [Spade insignia pencil drawing]

Surprise. It's not just a bill. There's a job offer tucked in. Seems old Bray's been looking for someone like me. Willing to forgive my debt, and not just for the orbital station. All of it.

Suddenly, I ain't so mad anymore.

Becoming an Exo

Saturn. No, someplace else. Someplace colder.

This moon has been almost completely converted, a sarcophagus of ice and iron.

Stone towers rung round with glaciers, rooted deep within a heart of snow.

I came here flesh and bone. Gave everything to the ice.

Started over.

Rebooted.

Cayde at Ishtar Collective

The coast is different, beautiful and unbroken and timeless. It teems with new life. Every big brain in the system has their sights on the Academy.

We were there for the Ahamkara, parasitic reptilian critters that appeared out of thin air. Inexplicable genome. New proteins. So much potential.

And me? I'm there for her. Dr. Maya Sundaresh. She's poured into the research, on the brink of another breakthrough, focused on devouring every new data point.

Brilliant. Driven. Beautiful. [Copy of Dr. Maya Sundaresh Ishtar Collective ID card]

I can see her so clearly. Dark hair split into smoothed, shimmering strands fanning over her forehead. Gray irises blooming as she looks up from her work to see me standing there beside her.

Realigning . . .

No She doesn't know me at all, doesn't even recognize my face even though I've been standing over her shoulder for months. I'm nothing more than a fixture, a required imposition. An unwanted necessity.

I'm no egghead. Never was. Just like now, back then I was on a need to know basis, and the only thing I need to know is that nothing and nobody gets through that door and past me without at least three layers of security clearance and a whole lot of muscle.

Still. I think about saying something. Saying anything. In a second my mind rifles through a trillion possibilities.

But she's already turned back to her work. I shuffle my feet, straighten my back, and return to mine.

I genuinely appreciate what Bungie tried to do with Trials of The Nine, but from the armor aesthetic to the player count to the Elimination game mode itself, I miss everything about Trials of Osiris.

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 03:04 PM PDT

Bungie clearly put a lot of thought and effort into the overall design of Trials of The Nine, but man, I really miss 3v3 elim as a format and the general aesthetic of the Osiris gear. I doubt we'll ever see a return of the armor/weapon style, but I hope Forsaken brings with it some changes to the structure of the Trials game mode (I, for one, would like to see the original Elim format - with radar - returned).

Solo Nightfall w/ 5x Renown (Savathun's Song Prestige)

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 12:30 PM PDT

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QiCC7FpbXOc

Pretty much as the title says. Clearing this week's prestige nightfall solo with 5x Renown debuff from the Faction Rally.

Overall this wasn't too bad, it was just mostly about knowing the strike and playing it safe. Pretty much every single section has a safe approach to clear it, so you can just take your time and prioritize safety over a fast clear.

Hunter was the best choice for this as dodge invis stops the tracking on all the Shriekers + the boss, and you can also use Tether to disable the Shriekers as well. Makes the only dangerous parts very safe and straight forward with this setup. Worst part is just trying to get Renown before the run tbh.

I ran with Solar Singe, Heavyweight, Momentum and Extinguish for this. Solar Singe + Heavyweight for the Sleeper Simulant, it works incredibly well for the boss and Ogres. Even for the shielded Knights it works quite well, so overall it's a very strong choice. Momentum is honestly one of the best modifiers in the game (despite being negative), constantly allows you to regen despite taking damage. In the case of Renown however, it still allows you to regen just much slower than normal. Extinguish doesn't matter at all because if I died I'd lose the Renown anyway.

Other than that it's pretty much as per the video, taking it very slowly and trying not to die. Any other questions feel free to ask!

Removing the Elemental Subclass Requirement for Cooldown Armor Mods

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 06:11 PM PDT

I just think letting players not worry about a grenade, melee, or class ability mod having to be solar, void, or arc would allow more freedom. No more changing armor every time you change subclasses, as like other armor mods, they would still be useful no matter what your loadout is. It is still nerfed compared to Destiny 1 where you can't just have both grenades and melee recharge in 25 seconds, as it now maxes at 40 seconds and can only do 1 ability at max, the other at 55 seconds, anyway. One armor set per ability for all subclasses. Otherwise, it's like reload armor mods only for kinetic handcannons, but may not be using one. Either this, or let us buy mods directly in the future, not just RNG.

Posted something similar in another thread, but got little attention.

Best ways to kill the ogre in Cargo Bay 3

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 11:09 PM PDT

As a faction rank 100 this week, I figured I could share my thoughts on the best methods to farm the ogre in Cargo Bay 3, the best lost sector for cashing in renown during this weekend rally. I keep seeing all these posts recommending snipers and the sleeper or something like that to kill him.

In my opinion, there are three ways to clear this lost sector. None of them involve sitting back or slowing down.

Hunter. Run straight in before anything can react. Jump on boxes. Tether ogre in the face. Throw your wombo combo, jump down, knife his face, and unload your shotgun of choice on him. Use your dodge. You're fucking invisible. He's fucking dead. Open the chest.

Titan. Run straight in towards the right. As you reach the back right corner, pop your hammers and turn on the ogre. From this angle, there is nowhere he can run. Corner the ogre into the boxes and literally melt him. If the ogre doesn't die from your six hammers, that's your fault, but then you can use the shotgun of your choice to finish the job. Open the chest, handsome.

Warlock. Pop your devour. Run straight in before anything can react. Jump on boxes. Nova ogre in the face. Hop down and finish the ogre with your shotgun of choice. You're magically healed. He's space magically dead. Open the chest.

Don't be a wimp. Get in the ogre's face and tell him what an ugly piece of work he is. Then stab him or shoot him in the face a little bit.

Go get him, guardians.

Edit: to everyone suggesting snipers or sleeper or celestial: I know. Everyone knows. Congratulations. However, these are proven, fast methods that won't kill you, if you're good. And this way, when your girlfriend walks in, she doesn't see you in the back of the room taking potshots. Instead, she sees you are a man that seizes what he wants.

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 08:13 AM PDT

Definition: The aggregate of equipment, methods, and techniques available to one for carrying out one's duties.

I'd stay this is a fairly accurate use of the word for the armor piece.

Bungie, give us Bones of Eao or its perk in D2

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 11:53 AM PDT

Hunters need another good exotic for PvP(not saying that STOMP-EE5 or FROST-EE5 are bad, just not as good as Wormhusk). Bones of Eao could be reintroduced in Forsaken, or could be an armor Masterwork for STOMP-EE5, just give it back, since right now I see virtually no variety when going up against hunters, it's so damn annoying as a Titan and even worse as a hunter who likes variety.

Can aiming with sweet business make it start spinning up?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:58 PM PDT

Y,know, I don't wanna fire half the mag before having the full spin up. It's a good idea for a catalyst. Or just an overall buff. So simply like miniguns in other games, aiming with sweet business causes it to spin up. So we can aim for like a few seconds and once the thing is fully spun up we start firing at max rpm. Thoughts?

Edit: another idea would be make it spin at full rpm on trigger pull and give it extra damage and put it in the heavy slot. Boom, you got an LMG.

Simple Sunshot Catalyst Farm - No Waiting on Nessus, No EP Level 1 Restarts, Infinite Enemy Spawn

Posted: 30 Jun 2018 12:33 PM PDT

Video Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hjdPM8lbxWM

There are many methods that are out there for farming the kills for the Sunshot catalyst. These include EP Level 1 thrall farming, Adventure farming, waiting for the endless enemy spawn on Nessus, etc. This method is much easier than all others, as it can be forced immediately; this means no waiting and no RNG. It may not be the absolute fastest farming method, but it's definitely very easy, consistent, and relaxing.

This was brought up to me during a stream by AussieHalo, who said it was shown during Ekuegan's stream. So full credit to these two for bringing it up, and to whoever else had part in finding this. I made this short video in order to expose this strategy to the greater public, especially with many people pledging FWC this time around.

Happy Farming!

If I'm hanging around waiting for a public event to start and a random blueberry decides to start and EP all by themselves it shouldn't cancel out the public event from starting

Most of the time it's just people trolling because they see players waiting for the public event to start
