I can only play on the lowest graphical quality settings and will get about 24-30 fps but any scope zooming will instantly drop the frames to about 18-22 and it makes me never want to use a scope. In fact, there are times when the gameplay experience is lessened to such an extent that I quit playing for that session. Here's the thing. I have laptop. It's from 2013 and even though I spent a lot of money on it, I figured that I really shouldn't expect high fps right? I can only play most games on their lowest settings. Now my laptop is a Clevo ( Sager in the USA ) model and you can take out/upgrade/Clean the components. I have never done this - in 5 years I have just let it run as it is. What do I know about 'puters I said. No. Better just leave as be. Head in the sand. Can you see where this is going? 2 days ago I found some thermal paste in my underpants drawer which lead my brain to lead me to download a utility and check my gpu temps. 95 degrees. Hmmmm. That seems hot I says. ( guick Googly to confirm that yes, that is hot and not good ). I thought well why not give it a clean ( the laptop I mean ) after all. I'm feeling brave. Football's Coming Home tomorrow I said, and my contribution shall be to clean me computer. I had read that the gpu and cpu were covered in this paste which helps to keep their temps down. The paste must have lost its powers! And clean I did. 5 years of dust and dirt, 2 splodges of paste + 1 hour of my time later and I was good to go. I couldn't play again until last night but when I did I got 55-60 fps on high settings. "What about your gpu temps now? " ( this is what you're saying ) My gpu temps? ( me replying ) Oh, about 50 degrees max. ( me again ) CLEAN IS GOOD. Have a great day. [link] [comments]  | ||

| Posted: 12 Jul 2018 12:25 AM PDT So it has been several years since I last logged onto DayZ. I remember asking myself how to play a zombie survival with no zombies, amongst other bugs and what not. I heard about 0.63 being like a whole new experience that could potentially revive the game, so I thought I'd give it a try. I logged in, had a chuckle at the beta disclaimer saying the game will be in beta for some time! The irony.. But yeah, I joined up into a server and found a mountain backpack instantly. I'm loving the feel, the hud, the graphics certainly appear different from a few years back, the sounds, the animations..great stuff! Gives me a little more hope.. I guess I'll return to dayz for a while again! I'm excited to see what we will get when we come out of early access in 2047. [link] [comments]  | ||

See, these past few months I have done nothing other than Grind on Dayz. I spent around 80 - 100 or so hours gearing up on both public and private hives. It was my sole objective getting geared on as many servers as possible, and I was geared on every single popular private hive on the American west coast. SOS, Trump's Wall, you name it. And now because of some internal error two months of hard grinding are gone and I am currently staring at the berezino hills, about to do it all again (and SERIOUSLY not wanting to). And with this current dissatisfaction turning to sadness I am begining to think clearly. My new playstyle of getting geared and never using this gear until it's literally the day before the next update and time to pvp before my character gets wiped (like some Dayz eboneezer scrooge)... is probably a waste of my time. I used to be out on the coast with all my buddies, being policemen, breakdance artists, or the ancient miluake tribe... being one with the chernarus spirit... Yes it was the age of electro. But none of this has happened for a long long time. Before I go on my boring gear runs I always make sure to spend an hour running around the coast, to maybe rekindle some old rp adventure. Alas everyone is gone... fuck knows where; the coasts are always devoid of life. It's gotten so dry even the hated 4 man bambi execution squads (the ones who got geared and went to the coast to slaughter fresh spawns) are nowhere to be seen. I never thought my favorite game in the world would so soon come to this. I believe the reason all the players have dried up is the reason I run up north and waste my time. There is nothing else to do. I know some in the Dayz community love the "ultra realistic" vibe; how zombies are no longer just annoying, they are an existential threat, 5 seconds of rain will KILL your ass, food is nowhere to be seen and you have masturbate an apple tree so you wont starve to death... but to the rest of us and all the players who left (around 90 percent of Dayz's old player base) do not find this fun. Sure we like having some pve difficulty, but we don't want it to fuck us. We don't want to have to leave the server every time it drizzles, or run half a fucking marathon to escape the zombies whose acceleration would put nfl 40's to shame. I know it's what the developers might have wanted, but this idealism has not and can not suit the majority of the public. There was a reason we had hardcore mode aka first person servers. You wanted the hard way? Join those. Let us more casual players, the majority, enjoy our third person shenanigans. There was a reason dayz was more popular in the early days. Sure Dayz was still hard, the run to the north annoying, and the hard way was always available, but there was enough fun to be had at the coast too! Now, there is fuck all and you are FORCED to run north. Wasn't dayz about choice? I got to choose how I wanted to survive it was "my story". Not anymore. The fatal player killing glitches are gone- we need not complain about those anymore. But they did their damage there is no denying that. Adding unnecessary aesthetics and fucking Christmas teddy bears instead of solving the run on a rock and you die issues. Just like this new faulty character wipe, no one wants to have to restart the game every time the developers screw up. But it happens again and again, and only the hardcore fans are what's left. The mod players, and the dreamers of what could have been and maybe could still be. Newer is not always better. Take the new iPhone for example, they add all this useless shit that actually makes their phones fucking worse. Dayz doesn't need a new weapons, or crazy over powered zombies. It needs it's old choice back. It needs more loot spawning at the coast and less bear grills "nature will fuck you" difficulty. Even in dark souls rain doesn't give you hyperthermia after 15 minutes. For sticking with this game I think I'm not a wimp and I can handle the tough. But my friends can't, and it's not fun without them. Want your player base back? Give us the choice again. Give us both the easy coast fun life for the causals, and the hard andrenaline pumping north survival for the hardcore. This balance can exist, it's not impossible because dayz did it before and I believe they can do it again. Going into .63, I hope my grievances are heard, and they can finally bring back the community I fell in love with. [link] [comments]  | ||

Has anyone tried this lately? Curious about performance. AFAIK wineDB performance ratings for games are not accounting for DXVK induced improvements yet. [link] [comments]  | ||

There were 2 to start, and a dozen or so when I died. (No sprinting at all? Eat a dick, Alice backpack. ) The airield looks amazing, if you haven't checked it out yet, get yourself there for a look, it's really remarkable. Posted: 11 Jul 2018 02:51 PM PDT i remember a lot of people complained about this, maybe i didnt word it properly, but basically the bullet of your gun going where your crosshair is, like aiming at a wall and the gun barrel is towards the left but your crosshair points to the right and the bullet goes to the right [link] [comments]  | ||

The servers are kicking people off quite often including the entire server at least a few times. At 1st I thought it was my connection, but I've talked to other players in game and they report the same thing.. Not sure what was changed but it hasn't been like this until the last few days. | Help a new guy with reloading - .63 Posted: 11 Jul 2018 09:59 AM PDT Second day in the game and found an MP5-K and 2 30rd MP5 mags. Problem is, I cannot figure out how to put the damn mag into the weapon. Looking at my inventory, I bring the MP5 to my hands, move the full mag to 'Combine', and then nothing happens. The hotbar icon for the MP5 goes read, and the other filled hotbars go orange (during which time I cannot move anything in my inventory). After a few seconds, I hit R to reload and it just cycles without loading anything. So now I have a nice new MP5, a full mag, but cannot combine them into an actual weapon. [link] [comments]  | ||

In an hour, ran into 5 folks not counting my counter part Tim from our team.Was held up by two somewhat friendly folks at the pub near Cap Galova - let go after a brief discussion. Headed to Cherno to meet up with Tim and ran into a young boy outside the police station who greeted my unarmed "Hello!" with a "Hello" and mag dump into my body. Was fortunate enough to get a spawn near Prig - ran over to discover he shot me for.. well, nadda. Didn't touch any of my stuff. Grabbed what wasn't ruined and sprinted through Cherno to meet Tim in Balota . heard RAK shots going off in Cherno (sounded like against the infected). Picked up Tim in Balota village proper - headed to Komorovo, ran into two bandits playing music from The Man with No Name trilogy over direct, both insisted they were the "Heroes of Chernarus". informed them of the young kid in Cherno, then headed in the opposite direction of them only to discover they were following me. Stopped, inquired as to why - they insisted they wanted to know where Tim went. (had run to the coast to put distance between him and the "dumbasses playing music"). tried explaining to them that he was being careful as we had been shot at - and that we were heading in the opposite direction of them so it should all be gravy. They proceeded to inform me (they both seem to enjoy yelling in heavily broken english at the SAME time) that Komarovo was "Their town" - to which I replied "Okay - I'll go the other way then" and proceeded to run directly inland. My intent was to give "their town" a WIDE berth - but as I got about 600 meters inland, I started taking Winchester (Winnie) shots from them. Was clipped in my anti stab vest, but not bleeding - so moved towards terrain for cover and lost them in the hills. .. Only to arrive at the lighthouse between Komarovo and Kamenka to hear a winchester shot near me ring out - and Tim inform me of his death. [link] [comments]  |
