Game Crashing Experimental .63 Posted: 06 Jul 2018 04:40 AM PDT My game crashes every 5 minutes or so which really sucks because im enjoying the game and fully kitted up in Stary Sobor. It usually gives a memory error message. Does anyone know the solution to this? [link] [comments]

As one of the returning players on the experimental.. Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:03 PM PDT Jesus Christ. Even with the content lacking and less items the experimental update has improved DayZ 1000% imo. I love the stamina system I'm thinking about what I pick up now, I love how I need to think before I run in slashing at zeds, I love how a knife is a viable weapon in melee. Oh and melee, holy shit it's so much better. Yea it needs work but it's leaps and bounds better. I've had so many "really?? That's so fucking cool moments" such as killing a zed up close with a rifle and seeing it spurt blood from the shot, to seeing the ground get covered in blood after. This wait has and will contiune to be worth it. It's turning out better than I could've hoped. [link] [comments]
Wish there was some reputation system to benefit and punish players Posted: 06 Jul 2018 05:48 AM PDT I know there was something like this in the DayZ mod for Arma, but I really wish there was some system or they plan to. Rant Story: I just came back to DayZ after years of not playing because I saw the new patch was coming out and it was a different game all together. I remember my best experience was not knowing what to do, running into a guy in Novo who decided to not kill me on sight and we became friends, he showed me the game and how to play and ended up playing games with him and his friends on teamspeak (yes that long ago) for a while. Fastforward.. It took me like 3 real life days of a few hours here and there to go from Berzino all the way to the town before the airfield (Grishino), it took a lot of food scavenging, water and drink finding, zombie killing and actually finding some decent ammo and guns, I was ready to leave to go to the airfield so I looked at my DayZ map and made my way... On the way I noticed some familiar structure in the distance, a tall lonely wall of a castle. I knew I've seen that on my way in, so I checked the map and it turns out I just walked almost 10 minutes in the wrong direction.. SO I head BACK to Grishino. As I am about to get into town I see a guy with two rifles, green beret and military looking stuff walking towards me. In my head I know I could just kill this guy with my gun very quickly and just take all of his stuff. But, I thought I didn't want to play this kind of game like that, it was my first encounter with a person in the game, I wanted it to be good. So, like any normal human, I asked if he had any food since I didn't have any. He said sure! But did I have anything to trade? He wanted my Press Vest, but I told him I couldn't, it holds all of my stuff. He then asked if I had anything else to trade (we both had fists out the whole time so I wasn't concerned). I tab open my inventory and I'm like "uhh no really, just some pistol magz and like water bot-" YOU ARE DEAD. All of that work, just to be basically be killed immediately by a player I wasn't threatening or anything. I just wish there was some system that would help convince more people to play friendly and have a more unique experience rather than kill people . The best times I had were with strangers who didn't kill me on sight.. by killing everyone you come across you essentially are blocking yourself from experiencing a new and fun way of playing the game. A whole different experience. BUT NOW.. because of this ONE guy.. I can no long trust anyone and have no desire to try to trust anyone with a gun that I encounter because I fear my hours of work will have been for nothing. Thank you to the douche who killed me for no reason, you've tarnished my perception of this game already and ruined the new outlook I had for it coming back to it. [link] [comments]

How sickness could lessen banditry. And add deeper immersion to medicine. Posted: 05 Jul 2018 11:37 AM PDT With the addition of sickness coming soon I thought of some interesting ways they could implement it and how it could effect players. If someone gets a light sickness like a cold/cough. Being near people could become a hazard. Sharing food and bottles could spread it. Some people might have a gnarly sickness. If a person kills another and the dead player has marburg virus or something. The guy who goes to loot his body might grab things that lead to infection and his death eventually as well. I remember the devs saying a long time ago that they hoped that ruining items through combat would lessen bandits. Well it didnt. Now, it could be possible that people would not just have gear fear for themselves but fear what others might have too. People could even be a carrier of a sickness meaning they show no ill symptoms and transmit it to others. Medicine to cure these would become more important and people might kill less for gear if there is a chance taking the gear will be suicide. disinfectant and alcohol will become important meaning people might decide to clean everything before they take it. gloves might mean you dont instantly contract anything unless it enters your mouth. face masks would mean you can safely interact with people even if they are sick, players could show symptoms like lesions and coughs to warn others to stay away. heroes could set up medical camps or walk around a treat players. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

Ghosting/Combat logging really needs to be addressed. Posted: 05 Jul 2018 10:44 PM PDT I'm going to drop what happened here just now, and leave it at that. I know the devs have priorities to worry about, but hopefully something like this gets fixed in the future so other people don't have to deal with this same crap. Was playing with a buddy, we were both fully geared posted up in the Kamy police station after skinning a guy who killed my friend prior. I started eating the human steak from the corpse while my buddy got his items back, and ran around the police station to get non-ruined clothes. Prior to all of this, I should mention, we locked the front and back ground-floor doors and cleared the rest of the rooms. As he was going through the rooms, he runs into a guy on the second floor with a skorpion, waiting for him with his gun ready, and before he could do anything the guy killed him. So I waited for a couple of minutes, pretty salty knowing what just happened, while the guy looted my friend of everything he had. A female fresh spawn with a red hoodie came up to the front door as I sat under the staircase trying to open the door with a hatchet. Next thing I knew, I heard doors opening upstairs, and someone reloading simultaneously; not to mention additional footsteps. I assumed another person in the first guy's group had logged in on the second floor because of this. So I continued to wait, hoping one of them would run down the stairs and I could score an easy kill by surprise, but as I'm waiting, the door to my right suddenly opens and closes. I'm fuming at this point so I just run in, and low-and behold: there's a female fresh spawn in a red hoodie with a skorpion who manages to kill me. I could chalk it up to luck if just one person did all of this, but it seemed to me like a group of players who knew exactly what they were doing the whole time. Regardless, I think logging in within 100m of your last location would be something to look into. There's no reason someone who just logged in should have the advantage or ability to appear from thin air next to you silently like you can at the moment. [link] [comments]

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:02 PM PDT Sorry if this is in .62 but I'm a new to dayz and have only played .63 When you have an item in your hands and you don't have inventory space to put the item away when switching items with the hot bar, it would be really nice there was a keybind to drop the item you are currently holding when you want to switch to a hot bar item I gave a geared player a pet bottle and waited for him to start drinking. I pulled out my hatchet and started to hack him up. He ran around trying to pull out his gun but couldn't because he couldn't drop the bottle without stopping to access his inventory. When he finally stopped to drop the bottle I was able to kill and eat him [link] [comments]
Spawned with gear I never picked up? Posted: 05 Jul 2018 01:35 PM PDT I just logged in to find loads of gear (guns, food etc) that I never picked up since playing last night. As if I'd been been playing. Which I haven't. What's happened? [link] [comments] |
