ESL Cologne 2018 is one of the reasons why I love esports and his community and probably one of the best days of my life.

Posted: 17 Jul 2018 12:19 PM PDT

Please mods don't delete.

Almost two weeks ago I posted this. A short story about how bad my journey to cologne was going. I went to sleep and the other day my inbox was full of replies with some people cheering me up, a guy from the nip staff and a DM from a guy of ESL.

I still was on Toronto airport when i started to read that the NiP guy, Kameeleon, offered me a Jersey of NiP signed by every player of the team, we started talking to make it happen and he also told me that contacted Na'Vi staff to contact me. Which happens in a few minutes and they gave my Ugin's (CSGO Manager) whatsapp to claim some gift and finally the ESL guy, Alex, asked my flight info to get me a shuffle to take me at hostel so i could make it to the arena on time.

I took my flight to cologne and I couldn't believe that this was happening, and it was just the start. I arrive to cologne and the shuttle was waiting, made it to the hostel, check in, nothing to unpack because no luggage ¯_(ツ)_/¯ , so really fast i paid a taxy to the arena and arrived on time to watch the first round of Na'Vi game, had a great time with some england guys yelling smoooooya. First day ends and was time for the fan dinner which i got invited because being the only guy from my country so chance was like 100%. Met a lot of players and talents s1mple, zeus, smooya, tabsen. Also had a long conversation about esports with Sapphire and Prius and he gifted me a welcome to the clutch pin(Amazing people kudos for you both). Last but not least the people from ESL, Alex and Patricia which were so nice to me.

Second day, I got the Nip Jersey, good matches, Na'Vi made it to finals and Ugin gifted me his Jersey, the new one that isn't being sold yet so i could cheer for the guys on the finals. I couldn't be more happier.

Last day, I went to buy a bratwurst (damn, they are so gooood, gonna miss'em) in halftime of the finals but in the way Alex, Patricia and Phill (another guy from ESL marketing deparment) appear and they told me, "just in time, we were looking for you" so Patricia out of nothing pass me a Na'Vi Jersey (2017-2018 which i didn't have) signed by every one of the team included Kane and Ugin. That was not everything they tell me, to follow them and we entered the backstage and took me to right to the side of the scenario so i could watch the entire stadium reactions and the na'vi players really close to watch theirs too. I don't have words to tell how amazing it was to watch everything from that spot. Next to this Na'Vi lost the map and Phill tell me to follow him to watch where players have conversations after a map. After this Na'Vi won Cologne and I just had to drop some tears after this unique experience.

I want to thanks NiP staff and players, Englands, Portugal and Brazil guys who called me fake KennyS, Na'Vi staff and players for the gifts and again to players to won a second tournament which i attend and make me feel the joy to watch them win. Prius and Sapphire for the amazing words we shared and finally the most thankfully thanks Alex and Patricia for this nice experience, for being nice hosts and concerned about loosing my luggage, you guys are the best this mean a lot to me.

This is probably going the be the best experience and memories of my life because i love esports and this community and this shows why.

Luggage was delivered to the hostel 2 days before going backhome.

TLDR: Lost my luggage, nip and navi were nice and they gifted me jerseys. ESL made this the best event of my life for me.

1 Clip from Summ1t's match that should be an example for every IGL/LEADER of a team about HOW NOT TO ACT!

Posted: 16 Jul 2018 08:40 PM PDT

FIrst of all I want to say that I am an IGL myself and when I see Summ1t and everyone else just frustrated because one guy (DaZeD) is yelling all the time when someone makes a mistake, it frustrates me SO MUCH, because I know that the momentum of a team comes directly with the MORAL of the TEAMMATES! One big factor in improving is by doing mistakes! It frustrates me so much.. SO MUCH seeing someone that considers himself a LEADER, doing all this toxic shit. I don't want to bring hate towards DaZeD, outside the game he seems a nice dude, but PLEASE everyone that is trying to be an IGL or a LEADER or a CAPTAIN or whatever you wanna call it... PLEASE don't demotivate your players! Please allow them to do mistakes and try new things, when they are doing a mistake, say "Nice try" and save the constructive criticism after the scrim/game and BE FRIENDS FFS!

By yelling and being toxic all the time, your teammtes: 1. Will not focus on the game 100% because they are afraid of doing a mistake

  1. They will not improve because they will not try new things because they are afraid of doing a mistake

  2. They will not have the moral of playing CS competitively

  3. By losing the moral, the momentum of the team dissapears

  4. By the momentum dissapearing, the match probably will be lost (if it's official, because that one matters, not a scrim)

  5. You will lose all the trust of your teammates and none of them will like you and eventually you will stop working together

  6. Eventually, everyone will lose the motivation to play anymore, the team probably will disband because of a toxic leader that has no idea how to fix a problem and his solution is yelling.

The most frustrating thing is that if you lose the motivation to play this game, you lost everything. I don't watch Summ1t, nor DaZeD, I just passed by Summ1t's stream at 5AM (EU CET TIME) because I couldn't sleep and I saw this.

REMEMBER: A TEAM DOESN'T MATTER HOW IT REACTS AFTER A WIN, ALL THAT MATTERS IS WHAT THEY ARE DOING AFTER A LOSS!

The Clip after all: https://clips.twitch.tv/JazzyCovertDuckYouDontSay

Please don't take this personal, my message is that without a good atmosphere, there will not be result. A good leader should be first of all friend with his teammtes, and after all a leader.

Please don't mind my english mistakes, because I'm not an english native.
