Remember when console had a 3X everything event because of a bad patch

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 01:47 PM PDT

And Hinduman said that if we wanted this kind of event, we'd have to endure some bad patches.

I think they owe us at least 5 of those by now.

How do you even break this?

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 10:34 AM PDT

So Hi-Rez,what are you waiting to make Nu Wa a lore friendly skin ? This would be absolute perfection.

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 11:01 AM PDT

[5.10] You can now pick any non-Limited and non-mastery skin in Jungle Practice

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 07:57 AM PDT

It appears all non-exclusive and exclusive skins are playable. Limited skins and masteries appear unlocked, but you can't pick them if you don't own them.

Is this what we should start expecting?

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 12:45 PM PDT

By what I mean the game being unplayable every patch. I remember when you would download the patch and be able to play it. That is not the case anymore. As players we have to expect that if the servers go down for patches that you will be unable to play it for at least half the day. I'm sure that I'm not only one that is just dissatisfied with how things have been going so far.

The console shitstorm

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 06:34 PM PDT

Hey I know this can be rude and I'll be getting flamed for this, but are we gonna get any sort of compensation for what's happening today? 8+ hours without being able to log in on a new patch day is kind of a really big problem. I won't care if it doesn't happen but I'd like to know that they are aware of how pissed we are.

Jermain retiring from Smite

No matter how delayed the patches are, it'll never be good enough

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 11:37 AM PDT

Literally. Like jesus christ, we were told 'oh yeah we're gonna delay patches a bit more so we can have time to work on them more for a bug free release uwu'

Does...does this look like a bug free release, Hi-Rez? Every patch, we get more gamebreaking bugs. I think this goes to show it doesn't matter how long or little the patches are delayed, it'll never be good enough.

Like you could have patch notes on Friday, and release it on Tuesday (so like 4 days between), or wait 2 weeks between patch notes and the new patch, and it'll still be just as buggy.

TL;DR get ur shit together

This is the longest fucking maintenance of all time

Servers shutdown like 8 hours ago and they're still not up, what the hell? What other game goes under maintenance for that long?

I still cannot connect to Smite on Xbox... which is infuriating because my friends are playing right now without me.

Tinfoil hat theory

What if Hirez are deliberately bugging smite patches so Streamers will play Realm Royale and instead boost viewership of that? 🤔🤔🤔

Slightly /s, slightly not /s 😂😂

New Adventure Grind

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 08:17 AM PDT

So I just won my first match (3-0-0) and only got 18 scrolls (I didn't buy the bundle).

I don't know if you'd get more if there was more games played rather than it being a shut out or if you get less for losing but presuming you get that every game then...

You'd need 30744 scrolls to get everything which would be 1708 games, I know there's a lot of grind to the adventures but that seem a bit over the top even compared to the previous ones.

(Luckily I'm starting at 14/24 so need 14735 - 819 games, but still...)

Edit: Just got 45 for a 3-2-1 victory so it does seem dependant on time spent in the mode (doesn't seem like rounds based off of those 2 unless it's not a linear scale)

So I'd have to imagine they'll adjust this, so tempted to not play until it's a bit more reasonable... but if it doesn't get changed then I'll definitely need all this time to farm it.

One more SMITE employee is being transferred to another game

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 07:52 AM PDT

I know that PC is usually favored over console, but is this implying that work was literally frozen on console maintenance in order to work on a new PC problem? And isn’t even going to be restarted until they are sure that PC is back to normal?

Putting Things In Perspective (a +1 to SMITE and Hi-Rez)

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 02:34 PM PDT

Hi everyone,

If you know me at all, it's likely for my Overarching Conquest Guide. I'm mostly a lurker on r/SMITE.

There just seems to be a lot of negative talk and generalized bashing of Hi-Rez and SMITE lately, and thought I'd put in my thoughts. Although these things have been said before, a reminder of maintaining perspective can be helpful. TL;DR for some (most maybe), but for others, I appreciate your attention and time.

SMITE Dying

Online games go through fluctuations, right? There are old games that retain a solid player base, but new games always threaten to pull people away. Movement and change is expected.

Steam Charts tells a reasonable story. Definitely on a slight downtrend as of the last couple of months, but with the continued rise of games like Fortnite (and how many other Battle Royale type games being announced at E3 this week?!?), I'm not surprised. Keep in mind, SMITE as a community also includes console players, which are not expressed here. Neither are those that use the HR Launcher instead of loading through Steam.

Players come and go. Sometimes they also come back, and we see this on r/SMITE with daily posts. Saying the game is dying is old and tired, and does nothing constructive in and of itself. C'mon people, let's spend our energy on talking about something more effective.

Exclusive / Limited Skins

Keep in mind that in its base form, SMITE is 100% Free-To-Play. For $30 (or less during sales), you can buy the God Pack to unlock all existing and upcoming gods.

I personally unlocked 80+ gods just through playtime and favor before buying the God Pack.

Do I like the various skins? Absolutely. Can they, in some ways, make the game more fun? Sure. But the great thing is, the skins don't change gameplay at all. You are not forced to buy ANYTHING that makes you a more effective player. No dollar-bought weapons to make you OP or anything close to that.

I understand wanting the option to give HR your money for a skin, rather than roll on a loot box. You have legitimate gripes there. But don't lose sight that the skin is not needed in the first place. Complaining about skins is seriously a first world problem.

HR doesn't listen to the player base (or HR doesn't know WTF they're doing)

The first, to me, is utter BS. Just because they make a change and you don't like it/agree with it...well...no matter how much you may think the world revolves around you...lol.

In most of the recent patches, we've been seeing some lower-tier gods buffed, higher tier gods nerfed, items buffed when they're used very little, etc. We've asked for better balance, and this is ALWAYS going to be a work-in-progress. I say they're doing okay. Could they do better? Sure. But so could you.

What else? How about the new Conquest map? Jungle fog? Improved graphic textures, DX11 support, and more? What about the fact that we generally love how St3alth has become one of the voices of HR, and directly responds to us? (And others like Ajax and Tina and PonPon and all the others throughout the years)

Now the second part...as has been discussed, sure, some of the HR staff's skill levels aren't near that of the competitive scene. And sure, that can also lead to wonky decisions on balance (or new god creation, or whatever).

But to generalize that it's what leads to a bad product? From my perspective, they're taking plenty of feedback from everyone, pros and casuals alike. You can't expect that every decision made is going to be something you agree with.

You don't like it, fine. But you can always adapt. Change your playstyle, practice to get better with different gods, learn how to counter the current meta (as well as possible) with your preferred B-Tier god. There CAN be plenty of fun in viewing that as a challenge. It's all about attitude.

Or you can just follow the cut-and-paste reactions of the Millennials or Gen Z, and complain about everything that doesn't go your way. (No offense to those in these generations that aren't part of this.)

Just like we complain about trolls, and toxicity, and whatever else, the best way to offer improvement of the game and community is to remain positive, be a good example, and make the best of whatever situations we experience.

In the meantime, I'm still going to be enjoying SMITE. Thank you, HR, for letting me play this game essentially for free for 4 years. $30 bucks for over 1k playtime isn't bad, when in perspective, I sometimes go to the movies, pay $15 for 2 hours and think the movie was "okay."

And thank you to the positive members of the community who remain helpful and earnest. You are all appreciated.

I think I speak for most players

Posted: 12 Jun 2018 06:08 PM PDT

This is not going to be long but I'm kinda sick and tired of these patches constantly bringing bugs or just anything for that matter that makes the game unplayable, I'm on Xbox and haven't been able to log on and play one game. I mean just don't release a patch if your not 100% certain it's going to be fine, I would of still perfered to be on 5.9 and actually play the game and get a couple of ranked games in but we get this 5.10 update and nothing works at all it is pretty upsetting. (This isn't a rant or you can call it that if you want, doesn't matter with me. I just want to play the game and just don't release patches that are gunna break the game) please hirez
