The Heroes of the Storm Mid-Season Brawl will feature 12 top-ranked teams battling it out for $250,000 USD from June 9-18. It's the first global competition on the HGC calendar, and with some of the best players in the world throwing down in front of thousands of attendees in Sweden, it's sure to be epic.
Group stage: June 9-13. Teams are divided into two groups of six teams each, where they play two game matches in a round-robin format.
Playoffs: June 16-18. In a double elimination bracket, top two teams from each group start in the upper bracket, while teams placed 3-4 start in the lower bracket. All matches are best-of-5, and everything ends in a best-of-7 Grand Final.

Hello all,
I'm Yu-kai Chou, and I'm the Owner of the Octalysis Group as well as sponsor for Team Octalysis (previously Team Twelve/Roll20/Team 8). I'm also an avid HotS fan that has been playing for 3 years and worked my way from Silver league to Diamond league (so far sponsorship activities is making it more difficult to be a tryhard haha...)
Since (very unfortunately) Team Octalysis has some time off from Mid-Season Brawl, we wanted to put together a community event to help the HotS ecosystem. We are currently ranked 3rd in NA HGC.

1) Public POV Scrim: Team Octalysis vs Team Freedom Time: June 11 (Monday/Tomorrow) 4PM - 7PM Pacific Time Where: Pro Player Twitch Channels
Ever wonder what happens behind the scenes between Pro games? How do they discuss drafting strategies? How do they coordinate ganks? Can we improve our own games through observing pros?
Our Team Octalysis Public Scrim will showcase our players scrim (practice matches) against Team Freedom (another top team in NA). You will be able to see the perspective and voice comms from any one of the 5 Pro Players on Team Octalysis via their Twitch Channels. Pick the role/hero that you are more likely to play yourself and see how they anticipate skill shots, decide when to be aggressive/passive, and coordinate with other team members.

and these drop rates are beyond pathetic. I've opened 52 chests paid for, 52 free ones, and dozens and dozens more from leveling and brawls. I've spent over 60k gold re-rolling.
3 skins. Technically I've gotten 5, but two were duplicates.
One Diablo. One ETC (and a duplicate of that ETC skin) and one Sonya, and just now a duplicate of that Sonya.
Now, I am fully aware that the loot chests are a lottery. However, compared to the absolutely ridiculous bundle prices, and because I have disposable income and want to support the only game I play, I buy a 52 pack of loot chests every event I'm interested in. And every event, up to Nexomania, I've gotten 10+ skins & event mounts from those lootboxes, plus more from leveling, so I expected to see the same. Maybe a little less, maybe a little more, but either way, 52 chests purchased alone and I have everything from an event I want.
Part of me legitimately feels it is absurd for me to feel ripped off. It's a game, the chests "are random", I gambled with my money, I shouldn't support Blizzard making money from gambling. On the other end - what the actual hell has changed with these drop rates? Why are they so astronomically different this event compared to every event prior that there are dozens of posts asking the same question?

[REMINDER] Nexusmania event is almost over, so buy the items you want now!

I always do this for events now, and people seem to appreciate it, so I'm just going to copy my post for the Lunar Festival event.
On the Halloween event, event items were dropped from the store on monday, even though update times for NA and EU servers are different. A lot of people missed out on their last minute purchases of event items.
So this is my reminder for everyone to buy the things you want today just to be sure.
Last event I bought things at around midnight from where i am. As a reference, that's in about 11h30 from now, so even though in the website it says that the event is until June 11th, I would advise you to buy the items today, just in case.

Bring back end game stats for mid season brawl games

Hey all, it's me again! I brought up how great it would be to see the end game stats after hgc games and late this season blizzard did it and was great!
However, it seems they must have forgot they started doing this after the month long break because these mid season brawl matches aren't showing stats :( any chance we could strat doing this again blizzard?

Please stahp, you're losing over half your health every time and sometimes your entire mech in exchange for 2% of their hp in bonk damage. My mana can't take this abuse.

The advice I see players on this sub give to players complaining about their rank is that if you are stuck in silver/gold league it is most likely because that is your skill tier and you need to stop blaming your team and better yourself.
At the same time, I have also seen people in this sub defend smurfing as a necessary evil due to their main account being irreversibly broken in terms of MMR.
So which is it?

I'm experiencing serious lags and ping spikes when playing. I am doing the tracerout and MTR test the second it happens (the one on blizzard website and through cmd) and it shows no problems at all! And that while my ping in game is jumping to 160.
At the same time I am watching my internet traffic and I see nothing drawing any bandwidth or creating packet loss.
I can't help by conclude that EU servers are just terrible. If even your own routing program shows no issues.

I don't know how else to title this, so I'll just go with that. This event I have opened 43 loot chests. Of those 43 loot chests, 36 had all commons on the initial opening. THIRTY SIX! Six of them had 3 commons and one rare, and one had 2 commons, a rare, and an epic. My friends that I play with have all had similar experiences, although they didn't actually keep track. I watched Dyrus pop open about 25 chests on his stream the other day and I noticed that he too was getting almost entirely commons in those chests.
Look I'm not saying there's a conspiracy at work here, but it definitely feels like with this event, my item rarity has never had worse luck. Commons, commons everywhere. And I get it, they're commons! They're supposed to be common. But at over account level 1000 (not a lot compared to some, but that's still a lot of loot boxes) I cannot remember EVER having worse luck during an event at getting items of above common rarity, and of getting EVENT ITEMS out of EVENT CHESTS. Out of those 43 chests, I got two skins, and they were both the same Karazhim skin. Because of course with 20 new skins, I somehow got duplicates of the same one. I should also note that I did get 4 legendaries during all this, and every one of them was a hero. I literally cannot remember the last time I opened up a hero in a loot chest, but during this event I got 4 of them, all duplicates.
Can anyone else anecdotally confirm this, or am I losing my mind? I realize Blizzard isn't going to come out and say anything even if they did rig the boxes, but something just hasn't been right about this entire event's chests.

For weeks now I've noticed that party finder was always empty. Turns out you need to be in a chat channel for it to work. This may be common knowledge to most, but I never considered it. I never even noticed I left general chat. I don't think I left it myself so if anyone else is having this issue, /join.
