Who else is freaked out by Mirelurks?

I'd rather go up against 10 deathclaws than fight one mirelurk.

Does anyone here miss Sarah? I wish she was still alive.

It would have been so bad-ass to see her in Fallout 4, leading BoS with her father's ideals.

I'm disappointed they killed her off just like that. I'd prefer her than Maxson.

Everything she and the lone wanderer went trough, only for her to end up dying...

Since we're all making requests for a game that is having the final touches added, here's a simple one: Don't allow NPCs to stand in the doorway.

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 11:07 AM PDT

I hate that shit. I'm trying to leave a disco and some fucktard companion just wants to stand there and look at me like I ain't tryna go hard in the paint with some buff raiders.

The most horrifying experience I ever had with Fallout 3

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 12:37 PM PDT

I got Fallout 3 for Christmas when I was in 7th grade in 2008. I fell in love with the game and would play it every day after school for hours and hours. There was one moment that absolutely terrified me and still haunts me 10 years later.

I don't remember the exact vault, but I do remember it had to do with the quest with Agatha, the old lady who lived in that shack. She wanted me to find some music for her, or maybe her instrument. It's been awhile since I've played Fallout 3. Anyways- I'm traversing the vault and it was already kinda spooky anyways. I remember hearing a weird noise and it freaks me out a little bit. I'm walking down a hallway and then I turn a corner and standing right in front of me, RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE, taking up my whole screen... is a Mirelurk king. This is the first time I had ever encountered that enemy. Standing there with it's weird skin, disgusting face staring at me. It literally made my heart skip I beat and I forgot how to play the game for a second. The only time I was ever terrified and scared while playing a game.

[Fallout 4] Did Maxson shut down Three Dog?

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:39 AM PDT

Can't stop wondering if Three Dog is still broadcasting GNR during the events of FO4 since it's only 10 years after 3. Would Maxson have shut down the wing of the BOS that protects/runs the Captial Wasteland, or would he have deemed it an unnecessary waste of troops. That being said, he grew up in the DC Wasteland and would have grown up listening to Three Dog.

What are your opinions? Does anybody have more info on the situation?

Edit: bad at math

Anyone thinking about how weird Fallout 76 launch day is going to be?

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 12:00 PM PDT

Playing Fallout 3 for the first time

Posted: 25 Jun 2018 11:05 PM PDT

I had no idea the Institute from FO4 had been mentioned or referenced previously. Now here I am meeting this dude Dr. Zimmer who seems to be looking for his rogue synth and he tells me about the Commonwealth and the Institute! I guess he must be how Dr. Li knows about them?

I compiled every fact about Fallout 76 from every source into one mega-video.

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 09:22 AM PDT

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OT1AhgrB3ic

Typically I don't like to self-promote, especially since the community here is so great, but in this case it's something I think you guys will legitimately be interested in. Using all the interviews from E3, every article, and the Noclip documentary as my sources, I tried to create the definitive guide to Fallout 76. As far as I know, there is no other video or written article that contains as much information about the game as this.

I hope you guys enjoy.

An Independent Commonwealth

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 08:23 AM PDT

The one thing I liked about New Vegas was that you could make New Vegas independent from all of the powers around (NCR, Legion, etc). I wish there was an option to go against all of the factions in fallout 4. Unless there is and I'm just missing it. What do you think?

The Fallout 76 e3 trailer got more views than the Fallout 4 official trailer in just two weeks

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 01:34 PM PDT

I thought since /r/cyberpunkgame thought the Cyberpunk 2077 e3 trailer gaining more views than the first one was so relevant, we might as well point out the same here. Just an observation.

I think Sheffield put on my X-01 and won't give it back.

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 07:46 AM PDT

Dudes running around my gas station with a busted ass power armor frame on and i check his inventory as a trade, nothing. Check it as a pickpocket, nothing. I take his fusion core out and he just gets pissed and we kill him. 90% positive my destroyed X-01 is hidden on his character, any idea how I can fix this?

How often do you use Power Armor in Fallout 4?

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:04 PM PDT

I've been working on a critical analysis of Fallout 4 in it's entirety, as it is the most divisive Fallout released thus far (not to say the others haven't been), and I'm looking for hard numbers on how the community plays the game. So, I have a few questions for you all, starting with :

How often do you use Power Armor in Fallout 4?

Feel free to post about why you use or don't use Power Armor as well, the insight would be much appreciated.

How do I start modding Fallout: New Vegas?

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 10:24 AM PDT

Hi, I'm a newcomer to the modding field. I've completed New Vegas once in a vanilla playthrough and I'd like to start my second with mods. I'm not really sure how to start, though.

I'd like to see if it's possible to massively improve the gunplay and combat AI (they suck in vanilla), fix the various bugs, and maybe add some new content to explore.

Fallout 76 - SPECIAL and Class Discussion

Posted: 26 Jun 2018 03:29 PM PDT

I tried doing a search and didn't see any breakdown of these specific images so I decided to submit them in detail. While this is all speculation I'd like to bring up the possiblity of these being a part of the game in some way. I will be breaking down this still from their official promo: Image 1

GET A JOB!

Image 3

This is the first time I know of that we have seen anything like this or references to Jobs in Fallout. It could be something very specific to the vault that you are in, like each person was required to have a job while there and of a certain age. I don't think this matches up for three reasons:

  • The Pipboy appears that he is on his way out. The hat and breif case would indicate that he is on his way out to his job
  • The Job board is on the way out of the vault
  • The foot prints on the floor indicate that people would have been lining up to inspect the table on the right, pick a job, and then leave the vault

GET A JOB! (close up)

Image 3 close up

The text appears to say the following in the 4 boxes:

  • Find your calling
  • Study
  • Learn
  • Work!

This appears that there might be a system in place where we can see some basic skills/perks/specials that you can specialize in by finding a book/magazine or through experience.

SPECIAL Board

Image 2

To the left of the table is a SPECIAL Board. This board appears different from other fallout games as it doesn't break down the acranym by the normal Fallout stats 1. Fallout New Vegas Vit-o-matic has the normal stats as did Fallout 4 You're Special Book.

Special - Let's take a closer look

Image 2 close up

If we take a closer look the board shows what appears to be various classes or variations of a class from typical RPG games (from left to right):

SPECIAL Class ||| RPG/Generic Class ||| Letter'*

Educators ||| Glass Cannon/Mage Class ||| "L"uck

Public Safety Worker ||| Rad Specialist/Tank Class ||| "E"ndurance

Technicians & Mechanics ||| Crafting Class ||| "I"ntelligence

Marketing Specialist ||| Merchant Class ||| "C"harisma

Building Construction & Design Workers ||| CAMP Building Specilization ||| "S"trength

Pest Control Professional ||| Fighter Class ||| "P"erception

Health care Professional ||| Medic Class ||| "A"gility

These may not correlate to a direct class make up (as in we might not be set or have to choose one class and be done) but there appears to be some relation to the SPECIAL stats and classes. If we had to choose a class or Job these would make sense to the game. We know there will only be Perks in fallout so it could be that each perk falls under one of these SPECIAL types and we will build our JOB based on these.

*It's hard to associate the colors by the names and the exact letter because a few are very close to the same color on my screen

Conclusion/tl;dr

There appears to be some system in place that may allow us to choose a Job or work our SPECIAL Perks to build a certain way.
