Suggestion: Add class specific collection tabs for things like druid forms, demon hunter wings, warlock demons ect..

Posted: 26 May 2018 04:04 AM PDT

So I've recently completed all of the druid mage tower challenges, but I'm planning to play another druid in BfA. Now blizzard said they are trying to find a way to allow players to "mog" into their artifact druid forms without actually equipping it.

I thought about an idea that I think can benefit multiple classes and not only druids, it will allow blizzard to introduce more cosmetic options that are unique to each class as well as to have an easy way to switch around things that previously were glyphs or toys. So the idea is that there will be a class specific tab in the collection that will include things that you have an option to change. Druid forms (everything from travel to bear form), demon hunter wings, warlock demons, priest redemption spirit ect ect... This can also allow them to introduce new things to those tab, let's say Uldir were to drop an item that lets you get a visually themed effect for one of your abilities that is class sepcific. If you used it as a DH you'd get wings that are titan themed, mages would get a titan looking disc under their portals, shamans could get titan themed totems and druids could get a titan looking land travel form. These are all just made up examples and I'm not saying I want these specific things, I'm talking about the idea in general.

The options are endless, just think about it, if we could have cosmetic options to how our abilities looks there could be so much new content added to the game with very little effort, think of it as the green fire, blizzard can take already existing visual effects used by mobs and allow us to obtain them as rare drops or rep items. Maybe even just a hidden treasure in the world. Imagine Xavius now drops an item that once learned makes your rejuvenation appear red, maybe the lich king can drop an item that makes avenging wrath have icy wings. Maybe monks can find a rare item in suramar that makes their keg abilities use arcwine kegs.

There's just so much options and possibilities with introducing a system like this, it would give players more things to collect and make their characters feel more unique. This will also be a great way to introduce new druid forms in the future and maybe add epic quest chains just like the green fire to get completely new visual effects on abilities. This can make old content relevant again even if it's just for one drop. I just think something like this will be perfect for wow.

For those excited about Dark Iron weapons: Don't forget blizzard has done this before.

Posted: 26 May 2018 07:45 AM PDT

I know people are all excited that we datamined a few dark iron weapons, but please don't get over hyped about it. We've also datamined Void Elf Weapons and Night Elf ones too, and no other allied races have had anything datamined so far, they wouldn't do this JUST for Dark Iron.

Likewise back in MoP, for the Throne of Thunder patch we had datamined a LOT of racial weapons. They were even marked as racial weapons. But we got a fraction of them, and we got them as class weapons. Race themed weapons are something players have wanted since vanilla, so don't get your hopes up; they've carrot sticked us before.

Which class has the best order hall and campaign in your opinion?

Posted: 26 May 2018 05:59 AM PDT

On my way to getting every class capped and finished with their campaign before Legion ends (8/12 so far if anyone cares!). Not really a difficult or impressive task but I started late-ish in Legion so I figure why not have every character ready to go for BFA. For the most part I've been pretty impressed with the order halls in general. I like that it's a zone where you can see everyone who plays your class and check what gear, legendaries, transmogs everyone is rocking. But there is definitely a vast disrepenancy in quality between some of them.

The first one I did was the Paladin. I like the theme of the place generally, and the church hall with the forge where you can see statues of all the old lore paladins is amazing. I also liked that the followers you had were mostly recognisable lore figures (something I couldn't say for every hall). The story was alright I think. I was disappointed that when we actually got to the vindicaar for the Argus story Lothraxion was literally never brought up at all though lol. It would have also been cool to see certain events from the DK story mirrored in the Paladin one. Guess we must've been out questing at the time...

Speaking of the DK order hall, it's definitely one of the best. Fantastic story, great followers and love the Acherus theme. To top it all off you can fly inside it. No complaints.

The Warrior one is a little divisive with a fair chunk of people who don't like the addition of a lot of magical fantasy aspects to what was a very "down to earth" class. Personally I love anything to do with the Titans and the Halls of Valor/Skyhold look is probably my favourite aesthetic from Legion so this was a winner for me. Going back to Ulduar and checking up on Thorim was really cool too. Personally the only thing I wasn't a fan of was how much everything tied into the Vrykul but I can overlook that.

I don't remember the DH one that well but I'm willing to put that down to poor memory rather than a slight against the campaign itself.

I know the Monk campaign is generally derided for the goofiness of the story but apart from that I actually think they did a decent job with the order hall considering they have a fairly limited amount of material to work with for Monks. The pandaria aesthetic carries it a lot and I think it was a good decision to have you visit areas from pandaria during the campaign. It also had one of the more memorable artifact quests for me with the WW quest sending you to a throne of the four winds/vortex pinnacle style zone which is one of my favourite WoW locations in terms of looks.

Weird that Rogues don't have an order hall, guess Blizzard must have just forgotten...

Jokes aside, Rogue is an extremely close second to the DK I'd say. It has a great story that ties into the events at the Broken Shore. The actual order hall itself feels full of life and fantasy in comparison to some of the blander ones. The only reason I'd put it below the DK one is the lack of flying and that it's somewhat annoying to access.

The last two I've completed were the Mage and Hunter. I felt these were considerably weaker than any of the others I've played so far. The Mage story felt extremely uninspired revolving around a search for Vargoth. I feel like it probably had some of the worst followers as well. Kalec and Milhouse were the only ones I recognised, the rest may as well have been faceless troops. One is literally just a TBC model arcane golem lol. The actual order hall doesn't look awful but I feel like it has an annoying layout.

The Hunter campaign started off promising with Vereesa being pretty prominent. But the story falls into a long winded plot to do with a Legion houndsmaster and I struggled to find myself caring. The lodge itself didn't really do it for me personally. And again, who are these followers? Hemet, Rexxar and Halduron were cool and that was all. To be fair I don't know if there are a whole lot of prominent hunters in the lore.

Working on levelling up a Druid and Shaman currently and I'm tentatively looking forward to both. What are your thoughts on order halls and campaigns in Legion?
