Today we have taken action on over 2,000 SMITE players across all platforms based on player reports and in-game behavior.

While over 20,000 players had been suspended or banned in SMITE during Season 5 prior to today, this latest mass action represents a ramp-up in our suspension activities, especially on Xbox and PS4, where our tools and processes have improved recently.

One of our top priorities is making sure the player experience is positive and fun, and a key priority for this year is to reduce in-game toxicity. We've been working hard to improve our tools to better identify players that have shown trends of negative behavior (including the recent addition of machine learning capabilities in this area), as well as ramp up the efforts of our internal team at Hi-Rez that checks player reports and chat logs.

Your reports are instrumental in helping us maintain a healthy and fun play environment. The team reviews submitted player reports everyday, so please continue to utilize the in game reporting system. With your help we can continue to improve the SMITE experience.

This is one of many steps toward our initiative to promote positive player behavior and handle negativity in game. We have more improvements planned for the coming months to continue this initiative, so stay tuned.

Now that Hi-Rez has gone ahead with the Mass Suspension/Ban can we have a look at revamping tutorials and matchmaking

I've said this before and I'll keep on saying it, the root of toxicity is mostly due to getting matched with either players who are a lot better than you a lot worse than you. We should take into consideration that games on Smite last on average 40-50 minutes feeling like you're stuck in a hopeless game for 40-50 minutes is incredibly frustrating. Personally, I'd rather not play than play with level 40s in my level 120+ games.

The tutorials need revamping so that we don't get Neiths and Lokis buying Med in our games.

If we improve how we teach our infant player base we prepare them better for pvp and hopefully decrease toxicity.

Why her sentinel (3rd ability) barks as a dog when it's a dragon ? Could be changed ? Some draconic sound would be awesome, and it's only change a sound, Scylla players would be very grateful :)

In addition, her Crush (2nd ability) it's almost invisible until detonate (after 5 secs). Maybe i'm wrong, but I think that should be visible since Scylla throw it because almost always you detonate it instantly or 1 second after, and it's so beautiful to missing it :(

Hope you take this opinion into consideration HR. Guys, what do you think about this thoughts, do you share it ?

I just want to thank Hi-rez for the ban wave. I understand that matchmaking is a big thing for alot of people, but honestly to me it really doesn't bother me too much, coming from COD/BF where the concept of match making doesn't seem to exist.

Anyways, when I play smite, I very, very rarely get BMed--But I see it go out to others and I always try to detoxify the match--But its a pain. I don't want to spend all my recall time/dead time chatting to some jerk and getting them to lay off someone who is having a bad day/learning a char/role. Its like going to work, but having to deal with the worst part--Getting co-workers to cooperate. And more then any other mode, conquest seems to be the most toxic. So the mere prospect of conquest being less toxic is a major draw to play it.

I guess what Im trying to say is a.)Thanks! and b.) More then anything else, a non toxic environment encourages me to play conquest when I normally wouldn't--Even if the toxicity wasn't going to be directed towards me.

I had 2 different ppl in the same day throw games bc I picked jungle, despite me being 1st pick, bc they "called dibs" 1st. Srry but the game has it's own pick order, suggesting that you want jungle is just that, a suggestion. If i'm playing with randoms and i'm 1st pick, you better believe i'm picking Awilix so I can climb tf out of elo hell.

Dumbing down gods is not fun.

This is of course just my opinion but i really wanted to see where the community stands on it so here we go. I feel like lately a lot of gods have been getting dumbed down. I haven't been in smite nearly as long as other players but Ive seen Fenrir Xbl and now Zhong all have their kits changed in some way to be easier. To me playing a god whose kit might be slightly harder or whose passive creates opportunities or rewards you for a way of playing is fun and satisfying. In contrast to that I feel like having something just handed to you is rather boring like the new Zhong or Xbl passives. I mean Zhong is already such an easy god to play I just cant understand how Hi-rez thought this was an okay thing to do. Like I said at the start of the post this is of course just my opinion but I would really like to hear what people have to say on if you think that the new reworks are okay or not.

Smite Lore Tier List - Slavic Update

I wasn't going to update this but I figure why not, I already went this far.

For those of you who haven't seen this post before, I've been working on a tier list displaying which gods measure up to each other. Of course this is an approximation, because there's no way we can know everything about the gods, some information is lost, and they're from entirely different cultures.

Current List

Gods are arranged from weakest to strongest vertically as well as ascending from right to left.

I'll also begin making reasons why gods are placed where they are on my Deviantart submission of this. I hope you guys enjoy and will help me correct stuff!

If you guys want to contribute explanations as to why these gods go where I'd be very grateful. There's a lot of explanations to write!

BENCH THE KENCH

Ever watched someone reroll your favorite champion with a trade request pending? What about rerolling one champion, only to end up with something worse? Tired of having to type "rr" in chat and sit back and wait, just in case someone wants to play Bard?

Starting in 8.11, whenever you reroll a champion, that champion is sent to the Available Champions Pool (or as we like to call it, the Bench), where your teammates (or you) can freely trade for it.

Our hope is that this will smooth out "Champion Select" and ensure that spending a reroll won't make your team composition worse. And speaking of rerolls, we're slightly increasing the rate at which you earn them. If you have no champions unlocked, you'll earn a reroll about once every 2 games, increasing based on the number of champions owned. If you own every champion, you'll earn one reroll each game, up to a max of two.

Would this "bench" improve Smites assault experience by reducing frustration and flaming before the real game even starts? How would healers be treated here?

The reroll system has been in League for a long time, is it better than Smites? (favor vs set amount for games played)

Ares Unlocked

Logged in this afternoon and got a notification that I have unlocked Ares. I've had the god pack for years. Anyone else get this notification? I'm on Xbox. Didn't bother me and doesn't seem to have messed with my god pack or anything. Just thought it was bizarre and interesting.
