VACnet improving? Cheaters getting automatically banned midgame

Just checked some forums. It seems like a lot of cheaters experience automated bans mid-game when they rage, resulting in a gameban with a spedific (new) warning afterwards. Nobody really knows whats happening but it seems to be a bit bigger as certainly a lot of people report that. It appears that people that rage and/or bhop with scripts get fucked automatically. Good thing :)

Minor Sound Issue in the Prerelease Build + M4A1-S/USP-S Deadzone Bug

M4A1 Unsilenced dB Confusion

The soundlevel for the unsilenced M4A1 firing sound was reduced from 93dB to 60dB while the silenced firing sound is set to 73dB. This would imply that the silenced firing noise is louder than the unsilenced. I'm pretty sure this is a mistake most likely due to the strange naming choice "Weapon_M4A1.SilencedSingle" is for unsilenced firing and "Weapon_M4A1.Silenced" is for silenced firing.

Note to readers: Keep in mind that the soundlevel setting doesn't determine the actual volume of the sound, it only effects the strength of the new reverb sound effects. DavidWValve comment for reference

Edit: A brief look into the dB soundlevels for other weapons has me scratching my head.

  • Most guns have a setting of 79dB
  • The M4A4 has no soundlevel setting at all
  • Glock has a setting of 85dB
  • AK47 has a setting of 100dB

While I'm not entirely sure how drastic the reverb effect is with this setting, it's really strange to me that the AK and especially the Glock would be reverb more than an AWP. Perhaps these values need further tweaking.

Silenced Weapon Firing Sound Dead-Zones

The standard firing sounds for the silenced M4 and USP fade out at 800 units and the distant firing variants fade out at 1500 units. The issue is that the distant variants don't start playing until about 900 units are so, meaning there is a deadzone between the where the standard firing sound starts and where the distant variant hasn't started playing at all. The distant variant should start playing much sooner for silenced weapons, perhaps at 600 units so it can fade in partially before the standard fades out.

Note: As far as I can tell this bug has been around for a very long time and isn't something new to the update.
