Almost all the Old Gods we've met in WoW have been inspired by the work of H.P. Lovecraft to some extent.

"C'Thun and Yogg-Saron are named after Cthulhu and the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. N'Zoth's name is most likely derived from Zoth-Ommog of H.P. Lovecraft's shared Cthulhu Mythos."

Well.

Guess what else has a name that calls back to not an Ancient, but to an Outer God (basically, the ones the Void Gods in the plane of True Shadow are inspired to).

Not a simple "minor" outer god either, the one said to have created the universe in the lovecraftian Mythos.

The Mad God Azathoth's name is what inspired the name Azeroth.

According to the Mythos, he's the manifestation of the weak nuclear force and, to summon him, you need high quantities of radioactive material.

I guess Azerite IS radioactive.

And we're going to collect it en masse in BFA...is this what will lead us to the Void Expansion? Will Azeroth HERSELF become our enemy?

One of the BFA raids... even the 2nd raid after Uldir, where we'll fight Azshara,is bound to be Ny'alotha.

BUT Nyarlathotep is first and foremost a SHAPESHIFTER, a deciever of mortals, and in wow that role is taken upon by none other than the Dreadlords, we also know that those demons were first found by Sargeras on a void-infested planet and have 0 problems with doublecrossing.

We haven't seen the last of the Dreadlords, i suppose their leader, king or creator is playing an important role, hidden in plain sight.

The obvious solution to this "riddle" would be that either the leader itself shapeshifted into Magni or he's controlling him, but what if the form the demon chose was a deliberately harmless one, one that he could use to keep in check both factions without any way they could find out?

And with all this also Wrathion comes to mind, as all he did in Pandaria and Cataclysm was to "save" the world and he too can shapeshift.

The Old Gods always had trouble completely controlling Deathwing (as written in the War of the Ancients trilogy), and from the same books we know that the Black Dragonflight's members weren't anything more than servants to Deathwing without a proper will of their own, i don't think this has been retconned, but now that Mrs Golden is working for Blizzard that might change.

What if Rhea didn't purge Wrathion's egg from the Old Gods' corruption, but from the grip of Deathwing's will? What if Wrathion himself forged a bargain with the old gods to ensure the birth of Azeroth went as planned, without the Legion destroying the planet or the Cataclysm ravaging it?

Edit3: Another similarity between Azeroth and Azathoth is their slumber, both are the most powerful of their kind and both have been asleep since the dawn of times from what we know.

We also know that, if Azathoth awakened, the universe would cease to exist (also the other Gods) as everything (even "concepts" such as death and destruction) are Azathoth's dream.

Is Azeroth's awakening going to have the same consequences? Is the "Circle" we've been warned about time and time again during Legion the one of death and rebirth of the universe that is somehow bound to Azeroth?

Yet another thing we know about Azathoth that may be true also for Azeroth is that his "nuclear" nature has 2 different meanings, as i said before it can mean the weak nuclear force, but also the fact that he's in the center, the "nucleus" of the Universe, where Outer gods keep playing cursed flutes to prevent its awakening (i didn't find any similarity between those flute players and anything we've seen so far), Azeroth could very well be the center of the Great Dark Beyond (improbable), but that's most likely just a reference to the fact that the soul is in the planet's core.

Why dont 110 boosts come with the garrison already unlocked? Seems silly that we have to do all the WoD intro stuff get to the garrison on a 110.

With the free BfA boost i used it on a toon and wanted to go farm some transmog in WoD but realized i dont have a garrison hearthstone. And sure you can skip the WoD intro from timeless isle but it doesnt unlock your garrison meaning every time you want to go to Draenor you have to go all the way to the timeless isle or set your hearth to somewhere in draenor.
