Who are the best position 5 heroes right now? Posted: 29 Apr 2018 12:13 PM PDT Been out of the scene for a while. Who are the hip position 5's these days? [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2018 01:49 AM PDT I moved from lol to dota 2, I got around 150 hours on dota and I try to main support. I got crusader 1 when I were done with my placements and was wondering if that was a good or bad rank for new player :o [link] [comments]
What do to as core visage when your birds keep dying? Posted: 29 Apr 2018 09:27 AM PDT I've been starting to play visage mid recently and still unsure on his goals and itemization. In my most recent game the enemy responded with lesh mid and luna carry. I dominated early game getting many kills and a 13 min pipe, 20 min aghs, which are good timings for me. Once we started to group for fights my birds would die right away to cm ult, lesh ult, glaives. What items should and adjustments to my playstyle should I make for this situation. I got a pipe which helped with Leah but wasn't sure what go get after pipe aghs medallion for luna. Went with sheep's which I think was mistake. My question is what items should I've gotten and how to play, run up and frontline or send birds on supports etc. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2018 01:01 PM PDT With wk being more of a pushing hero than ever before thanks to skellies I've come to think about getting necronomic on him. The stats are relevant for wk and the active is lets you push extra hard. So what do you guys think? Is necronomicon ever good on wk? [link] [comments]
Windranger: where do I fit in Deso? Posted: 29 Apr 2018 04:42 AM PDT If I'm the main tower killer on my team, is early Deso a viable option? Or does the damage reduction of my ult mitigate the benefits in the early game? If I'm buying wards and can't get an Aghs in appropriate time, will a Deso suffice to melt towers? I'm not so concerned with killing heroes as I am killing buildings and pushing waves [link] [comments]
General misconception of "I must sacrifice to save my carry" Posted: 29 Apr 2018 02:41 AM PDT It is wrong. Even as a support, your mindset should be: "I will never die, unless I can CLEARLY visualize my death will lead up to winning the teamfight." After hitting Divine 5, I am still not even close to be considered descent at knowing and understanding when is the right time to let my allies die. I will be able to tell whether I did it right or wrong only after watching a replay of the game. Can I make that right decision 80-90% of the time in-game? No, I can't. Things get way too hectic. I get carried away. I am not quite there yet. That is perhaps sort of the skill-and-ability-gap which separates from 5k to 6-7k players. I admit I am doing it poorly! When I watch 1-4k games, you guys do it even worse. You just dive each other endlessly. The team that has made less worse decisions eventually win. What's holding them back from improving and gaining mmr is that, 99% of the players refuse see what they are doing wrong. They do not watch any replay. If you died following your team running into the death pit, you've played that as equally horrible. Just let them die. You get back. You make the right decision to avoid the worst. It will make difference. [link] [comments]
I just went 0-10 in an unranked Underlord game. Posted: 29 Apr 2018 03:57 AM PDT 5 of the deaths were in the early game. I was sacked in the solo offlane and forced to go alone against a Drow + CM + Roaming Doom. Could I have survived better? How do you deal with a situation like that as an Underlord? Is it always better to have your supports back the offlaner up in times like these? Divine 0 btw, if that matters. [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Apr 2018 11:46 AM PDT I feel like right now, maybe not as much as the Necro/Bloodseeker/regen patch, pubs kinda favor easier to execute strategies. In the last two patches, I've had a lot of success with Luna (Ancient 5), and now that TB is no longer *the* carry, I think Luna will slowly see more and more play. Yesterday, the Mineski/LGD (I think) series saw Luna in all 3 games, and the team that had Luna won every time. While this doesn't translate directly to pub success, Luna definitely seems strong and up there as a T1 carry. I've also seen success (in my games and some higher MMR players') with an early Glaives max + Mask of Madness build, skipping Dragon Lance and just farming until minute 20 ish. Is TB still the go-to counter? Does Luna seem undervalued? Just looking for other opinions. [link] [comments]
How Hard Should You Break Your Farming Pattern? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 07:23 PM PDT This is based on /u/circis1's guide and recommendation of practicing and learning farming patterns. At some point, you become so good at farming that you will pick a route such that you will meet the creeps as they come to you (or at least that's how I plan my route). But in a real game, as a carry, you seem to have a obligation to pressure towers and lanes more. This means taking slightly riskier farm than you might want to and/or breaking your pattern to push another lane while the enemy is pushing in one of them. This is where I am stuck in trying to apply the farming pattern concept. Let's say you're in the middle of your farming pattern. How far should you break your farming pattern to apply pressure to the enemy and push in waves? Or, should you be farming in a way that already predicts and by the time the enemy has made their move, you're already pushing in another wave? Consider the following scenario: You're in the Radiant camp and you're clearing the medium camp by the shrine at :46 and want to stack the Radiant Ancient at :53 and you plan to take the incoming mid wave at :15. However, mid is suddenly being pushed in by the enemy and your mid T1 is being threatened. You are not ready to fight with your team but you are capable of TP-ing in to clean up. Should you break your farming pattern to go and push the Radiant safelane harder that is currently across the river? (Consider both cases where the momentum in the safelane is coming back and going forward) [link] [comments]
Playing the meta Vs Playing your hero pool Posted: 28 Apr 2018 07:43 PM PDT What would be more beneficial long term? I know that playing the current high winrate heroes can help increase MMR, but playing your best heroes would yield the same result, if drafted properly. Currently, I have a positive win rate with heroes that aren't in the meta or have a low winrate, and I'm trying to climb MMR. So, would it be better to keep going with the current heroes I rotate or try new heroes out? [link] [comments]
Posted: 28 Apr 2018 10:00 PM PDT Any idea who are the top tier mid laners right now? OD seems to have been nerfed so hard by this patch. [link] [comments]
| Hey, just a heads up if you're from the EU and interested in a dota league Posted: 28 Apr 2018 04:45 PM PDT Hi, you may have heard of the Amateur Dota Team League (ADTL), they do some good stuff with hosting a league for lower rank teams and have had great success in NA regions. They have recently tried to open up an EU division but have only had 3-4 teams sign up and are considering cancelling the division if there isn't any more sign ups. So I thought I'd spread the word and see if anyone in the EU area would be interested in something like this. The league runners have told me that if there is enough interest then they won't cancel the league so please sign up if you want to be involved in something like this. ADTL: Discord - https://discord.gg/zfnKPMk Twitch - https://www.twitch.tv/atdl Twitter - https://twitter.com/ATDLDOTA Google form for EU division registration: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGjuUgeOZk5f4qZ7UMHM43ZGQpRizgjdkkZr2zfp0DGr1kpw/viewform?usp=sf_link Thanks. | Posted: 28 Apr 2018 06:02 PM PDT (This is low divine bracket SEA) I have been spamming lone druid offlane for awhile now and generally what I do in the first wave is I let my hero stay in the trees to soak some xp from the first wave then I will have my bear stack the second and third enemy creep wave and let it tp back to fountain. This lets me get to level 3-4 while enemy safelane is around level 3 For items i start with stout shield, oov, and tp for my bear. I then rush Helm of the Dominator then build aquila and just take towers. Sometimes I don't buy boots and there are other times I build ghost scepter on my hero. I have problems what to build at this point. I usually make radiance but it will already be too late as I will finish it around 25-30 mins. And if our team is behind I have trouble building it. Any suggestions will be appreciated. [link] [comments] |
What to do as a support/roamer if you cannot gank, zone the offlaner(s) or pull? Posted: 28 Apr 2018 08:14 PM PDT Just lost another game supporting at <2k mmr. Dotabuff: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3855751332 I just don't understand what I could've possibly done at all. Our viper lost a 1v1 match up against a spec. I only got to gank mid once because tinker started flaming me as soon as I went near his lane. And the offlaners (underlord + ogre) were too strong for me and shaman to deal with. What do I do in this situation? All I did for the rest fo the game was farm and push waves (someone had to) and then their spec was 5 - 10 levels above our am at 40 minutes. Any advice/tips are greatly appreciated, or even watching the first 10 minutes of my gameplay and roasting me on it. [link] [comments]
