Tournament success

Last week I posted about seeking advice for hosting a sf tournament. Some users asked that I post about how the tournament worked out.

It was pretty simple, I took the advice of writing the rules down, that made everything pretty clear and smooth.

Only a few people showed up ,( which is what I expected) this made things pretty easy and straight forward. I am hoping to have a better turnout in coming weeks as we'll make this a weekly tradition.

Thanks for the tips and advice!

  • TC xx Step Kick xx DP in corner

  • TC xx Step Kick xx CA mid screen

  • TC xx Step Kick xx VTC xx dash xx L DP xx H DP

  • (VT1 only) TC xx Step Kick xx Ex Tatsu

  • ST HK CC xx Step Kick xx M Tatsu xx EX DP

  • Shinryuken max hit xx H DP mid screen

  • M DP 1 hit on TIP can cancel to H DP (but why??)

Not sure if this is new but it sends you straight back into training mode after a match once you hit return to previous mode

New player question

Newer player, always been bad at fighting games but I'm taking the time to grind out and try to learn actual combos. I really like Menat and her design but everything I read says she's the most difficult character in the game.

My question is will grinding out and learning her bnb be beneficial in the long run? I don't care if I'm a bronze player for a year but I don't want to lab her and learn all kinds of stuff that won't translate to other characters. Would I be better off learning a more "newbie" character and coming back to Menat after I can do some bnbs and have some experience on them or should I just stick with Menat if that's who I want to main?

I've cleared story on all the default characters and unlocked several, just like watching pros play Menat and the games against computers and the few online matches it's pretty fun to orb people to death as Menat.

Can I purchase the CPT 2016 and 2017 packs?

I just got the CPT 2018 pack and I would really like to get the CPT 2016 and 2017 packs, those Ken and Guile costumes look great. Can I buy them now that the CPT 2018 bundle is up? I really hate time limited content like this because all it does is frustrate new players and locks off content for no apparent reason.
