I put together a Spotify playlist featuring (almost) all of the songs from Radio New Vegas, Galaxy News Radio, and Diamond City Radio.

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:15 AM PDT

In my journey across the playlist section of Spotify, I found that there weren't any selections that included only the songs found in the games; only large ones with similar songs that aren't in the games, or remasters or covers without the original artists. I put this together to remedy that.

A word of warning, some songs weren't available on Spotify. Either they don't have the version by the artist heard in the games, or they didn't have it altogether (I got the vast majority of them though). I left out Mojave Music Radio since those songs don't fit with the East Coast stations very well, as well as Magnolia's songs that appear on DCR since she was more-or-less hamfisted into the game to promote her music.

FO4 Fuck Doctor Li [Spoilers]

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:34 AM PDT

So i decided to finally do a Brotherhood playthrough. Got to the Institute and needed to bring Doctor Li evidence to join the Brotherhood of Steel (failed the speech checks). Already wasn't putting up with her shitty attitude before, but decided I'd be nice when giving her the news about Virgil via the holotape. I tell her "I'm sorry to bring bad news" and the bitch replies with a condescending "Since when do you know what I see as bad news?" Capped that bitch in the head with my Colt .45 then mag-dumped on her corpse. Ad Victoriam stupid science bitch.

PS: Rest of the institute also got the .45

Could you fall in love with a synth?

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 07:35 AM PDT

If you met a gen 3 synth and spent time with them before knowing their origins, could you ever fall in love with them even after finding out they were not human?

We really need more of the Midwestern Brotherhood of Steel

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 12:30 AM PDT

So for a while now I've really wanted to learn more about the brotherhood that crashed near Chicago. They aren't really addressed in any game except Fallout Tactics, which isn't considered cannon. In Tactics they were supposedly the largest and main branch of the Brotherhood, meanwhile in fallout 3 they're noted as being a rouge detachment that's fallen off the radar. They apparently ruled very strictly but allowed anyone in their ranks including super mutants. I think that this is one of the most interesting stories to be told in the fallout universe, but yet it's hardly touched on in what we consider cannon. When thinking about what the next fallout could be, I often think about this the midwestern brotherhood. There aren't too many other thing they could do for the next game that wouldn't be adding in new lore, so if they were to go back to advancing stories we already know about, the brotherhood in Chicago could be a great idea and a good source for an interesting game. There's tons to explore and a lot of pieces they could elaborate on. I don't know what the point of this post is, but who else would love to see this whole chapter and region involved with the next fallout?

Nukalurks are insanely overpowered

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 01:30 PM PDT

During my survival gameplay I was doing the mission where you retake all the parks. I knew killing the Nukalurks would be a difficult task so I decided to use strategy. Outside the bottling plant I used my sniper rifle to get their attention and it worked. About 4 Nukalurks were heading straight towards me so I ran and decided to lure them towards Animal Safari hoping they would clash with the Gatorclaws and make my job a lot easier. When I got near the Angry Anaconda I made lots of noise using my automatic rifle which alerted about 3 Gatorclaws. The Nukalurks were still on my trail but luckily I went up one of the catwalks and was ready to enjoy the fireworks. I was heavily disappointed as well as shocked. All 4 Nukalurks swarmed the 3 Gatorclaws and practically annihilated them under 2 minutes. The Nukalurks health wasn't even affected much. This is when I knew I would have a real hard time taking back that park.

What's the laggiest place in fallout?

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:23 PM PDT

My money's on the city in Fallout 4, mainly near Goodneighbor. I've played this game on PS4, Xbox One, and my $1000 computer I built in 2017 and no matter what my frame rate will either drop between 6 and 13 or just instantly crash and send me to the dashboard.

What do you think the ghost people look like?

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 09:37 AM PDT

We have certain clues to their physiology, do you think they look like ghouls or are they unique? Also, when you shoot off a limb you cannot see any bones inside them, how do they move? does the suit act as an exoskeleton?

[theory] the deathclaws in 1,2,3 and NV are a different species to the deathclaws in 4.

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:41 PM PDT

[slight spoilers about the master, nothing major... this should be fine to post here right ? don't see anything in the rules against it and couldn't find a sub for it, so i imagine im fine. but if it's discouraged or not well liked then i'll take it off]

i know what you're going to say... "no they aren't, shut up you dick jockey" but just hear me out for a second then you can call me a dick jockey to your hearts content.

even dis-regarding the different the design as that could just be viewed as a redesign... i think they're very different species, let me tell you why.

also just to save me the pain in the ass that i'll surely get i'll be calling the deathclaws from 1,2,3 and NV as "olney's" because i'll never forget that hellhole, plus it sounds right... and the deathclaws from 4 as "gojira's"... you can probably see why.

to start off let me begin by saying this wouldn't be massively out of canon to have a subspecies of deathclaw as hairy deathclaws exist (tactics) which were deathclaws that migrated to colder areas and evolved rapidly to have fur, showing that they are a very adaptable species so my theory is that the gojira's may have evolved towards the abundance of food and prey in the commonwealth meaning they've become more bestial and animalistic, less agile and cunning and more brute strength, as a trade-off because they're bigger and more muscled they need more food and water to keep ticking meaning they aren't very suited to "proper" wastelands like the olneys hence why they aren't widespread the massive wastes would be too much for them to bear. they are only in areas with an abundance of prey for them to gorge on, places that are very "alive" though most of the wasteland isn't so they haven't had a chance to spread properly

olney's are far more cunning and agile, sneaky, stubborn old things that show quite a reasonable measure of intelligence sharpening their claws with their own claws to get them sharper, unlike the gojira's who sharpen them on the ground, a far rougher more savage way of achieving the same thing, the olney's way is far more efficient, get's them far sharper.

some olney's have reportedly rarely been able to mimick human speech, though there have been no reports of gojira's having this abilty... though some gojira's rarely have the ability to camouflage themselves... see what i mean ? the gojira's ability to camouflage itself is far more bestial, primal, animalistic, where as the olney's speech mimicking is far cleverer, more cunning, more human... more ruthless

perhaps the gojira's were an early "prototype" of the olney's, perhaps the gojira's were what the olneys were like before being genetically altered by the master (he is actually the one who made them what they are) to be more ruthless and cunning, more suited to the wastes (that was his plan with mutants after all, to make a new super species to survive and thrive in the wastes, maybe the olney's were an early test at that, but they were a little too... savage) because it is said that most deathclaws lost their ability to camouflage through mutation, lending credence to the idea of gojira's being "purer"

olney's live in large packs, you could even describe them as small colonies (as seen in new vegas) where as the gojira's are far more T-Rex like in their way of having a small brood till they go their own way, far more solitary, preferring to hunt and live alone than in colonies of their kin.

also a noticeable difference... is that there are no glowing olney's... but there are glowing gojira's... don't you think that's a bit strange ? i mean deathclaws have been modified by FEV meaning unless im getting something wrong then radiation shouldn't be doing jack shit... which it doesn't to the olney's the far more altered by fev and the master and the more human-like of the two... the gojira's however they can glow like a Christmas tree... so why would that be unless they were either an earlier version of the deathclaw... a deathclaw unmodified by FEV... or just a species that's adapted to it's bestial conditions, bringing with it brute strength and camouflage like a chameleon.

i think the most likely theory would be the gojira's are the un-altered version of the olney's, barely staying alive in the few hotspots of life as they need lots to keep their big bodies going, so they can't traverse mountains and deserts to expand their species otherwise they'll likely die on the way, they were the ones built for the military, easier to control than the olney's because of their simple brain, a simple brute is far easier to control than a cunning sociopath afterall, where as the olney's were made with genetic engineering and FEV by a madman seeking a new ultimate species at the top of the food chain, who made them resilient, made them more gaunt with no flab and all muscle and bone, a lot smaller to use a lot less resources, as a trade-off they became weaker, no longer able to kill a man in a single strike but instead tearing them to shred in a few quick swipes, made to be cunning and hunt in packs with colonies, like velociraptors, hunters, tricksters, built to expand and expand... built to survive... at any cost. as i said as a trade-off for this ruthlessness a downside may be that they turned out a little harder to control and much more savage than the master was hoping and thus he discarded them like used toilet paper, unleashing this metaphorical plague upon the wastes without a second thought. (which would also explain why he modified them but did not use them in his plans)

it's possible some old gojira eggs or incubation vats (or however they were made) survived for a long time and brought the old species back, maybe they never died, but just barely hung on, or maybe only surviving in the tiniest pockets of life only coming back properly recently thanks to the G.E.C.K and it's life giving effects. when you remake life, when you remake the world... the world won't just be great for you... it will be great for all the things that want to eat you, pretty entertaining isn't it ? the one i nicknamed "gojira" is in a way like a symbol of nature's wrath... you brought nature back from the grave... what do you want ? a medal ? you still killed the bitch, and she's pissed, and so are the creatures that want to take their world back.

...or maybe im just looking WAY too into this and it's just a design change complete with a full behavioral change without even so much as skimming through the lore... hence why they're so different... just a thought at least, what do you think of my scatterbrained theory ? anything to add or criticise ?

Is there something in the lore you wish wasn't there?

Overall the lore in the fallout universe is amazing but there are few things that are infuriating. For example billy the kid in the fridge.

DlC dilemma for fallout new Vegas

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:58 PM PDT

So i just downloaded all the dlc for fallout Nv and but before that i just completed a nv run for mr house unarmed/melee character. So is it recommended that load up a earlier save and play some dlc on that one or just make another character .

Fighting Mr. House was kinda Anti-Climactic. What would have been better is you fought a pissed off Victor.

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 02:50 PM PDT

Don't get me wrong it was still cool and really emotional after seeing the corpse he became, but isn't killing all his securitrons kinda of cheap. What would have been better is if you turned victor into a boss fight and he had access to the the rockets, Grenade launchers, laser machine gun and SMG rounds as well as that self healing features. All while talking about how he feels beytrayed after saving your life.

FO 4 plot twist (idea for funsies) :

Posted: 31 Mar 2018 10:02 AM PDT

turns out you were a Synth all along, replaced in the chamber. If this realisation comes to you via dialog option, you are only left with one option. That being an "Order 66" to the Institute and one settler at each settlement murders all the humans, locking in Institute domination.
